Notified me five minutes before the start of the appointment that she would be hours late.

I had an appointment today with Kimberly Hernandez at 2 PM in Bradenton, Florida. At 1:55 PM the groomer notified me that she was in a different city hours away and was running a little behind because the grooming she was doing was taking longer than expected. The time had gotten away from her.
That explanation really doesn’t make sense. Plus, it is disrespectful of my time and my needs. Perhaps she decided to stop and have lunch with a friend, or picked up an extra job. The explanation she offered was not very logical. This was very irresponsible of her. I would not use this company.

What went wrong was deceptive…t

What went wrong was deceptive advertising and rude customer service.
I went to their website to check their mobile dog grooming service, pricing and availability. After entering the requested info such as dog breed, weight, and my location, I was presented with 4 options. The one I chose was "starting at $ 100.00" which included taxes and fees.
I then booked an appointment, which asked for the same info as before. However, the price shot up to $ 158.00. I called the customer service number to inquire as to why the price jump. She couldn't give me a legitimate reason. She first claimed it was taxes and fees. I mentioned that was quoted as included.she then became belligerent and said it was my location. I told her my location hadn't changed in 5 minutes between getting a price and booking. Then she stated the initial price " was for marketing purposes only." In other words, deceptive marketing/ bait and switch. I asked to speak to her supervisor. She said she had a supervisor but refused to let me talk to that person. Finally, she said t hat if I wasn't happy, too bad.
I am now going to file a complaint with my state Attorney General's division of Consumer Complaints due to deceptive advertising.

Denver area road rage incident

A driver for your company was committing road rage on 3/15/2026 at approx 1:30pm at Santa Fe Dr and Dartmouth in Denver. After he pulled out in front of oncoming traffic and pulled across all lanes of traffic. He then noticed an accident up ahead and had cut back all the way over to the right and almost hit us doing so. When we honked to alert him he flipped out and started following us for a while continuously honking aggressively and tailgating us. I called 911 on him! If this is the behavior of the people who work for you I would NEVER trust them with a family pet!!!

If I could give Penny in Houston

If I could give Penny in Houston, more than 5 stars, I would. My cat was acquired from an 79 year old woman with brain cancer. He is has a lot of long hair. It was a matted mess. He is anxious and a giant, 15 pound chicken. Penny took excellent care of him. She asked permission to shave him if needed. There were no surprise charges. She is a very kind person. She was extremely punctual and professional. The cat whom I expected to be in hiding for hours, is already out. He is running around the house at top speed. He hasn't done that in a long time. He feels so good. I will definitely book with Penny again.

The service itself is also really easy to deal with. There was a glitch in the app making it look I initiated a refund. The groomer was on the way. I called the customer service line and got an actual human. She looked into the issue and assured me it was a small glitch in the app. This has been a positive experience.

The groomer was prompt and efficient

The groomer was prompt and efficient. He came a day after a bad snowstorm, he didn't ask to reschedule he texted me and said he would be late which was expected because of the blizzard. But he kept me notified of his arrival. He did a great job on both of my dogs.

I had one of the most unprofessional

I had one of the most unprofessional, misleading, and frankly alarming experiences I’ve ever had with a service platform.

We booked a Premium/Gold grooming package specifically advertised as including same-day availability, because our cat has severe matting and requires careful handling. Based on Groomit’s own representations, a 2:00 PM appointment was confirmed.

Because the grooming required preparation, the cat was given gabapentin (a very mild, commonly prescribed anxiety medication) by his regular veterinarian in advance of the confirmed appointment. He was monitored closely the entire day and responded calmly and safely.

Here’s where everything went off the rails:

At 2:01 PM (after the appointment time had already passed), the groomer finally called.

She stated she would be 1 hour and 45 minutes late—if she could even make it at all.

Her explanation was traffic and that a prior client had “last-minute upgraded” to a Gold package.

She suggested rescheduling to the next day and asked that the cat be medicated two days in a row, which is medically inappropriate and was clearly communicated as such.

During the call, the groomer did not even know the pet’s name, repeatedly calling him by the wrong name, which raised serious concerns about whether she had reviewed the booking at all.

When these concerns were raised, the groomer hung up abruptly and blocked the phone number.

Immediately after, Groomit customer service was contacted. Based on the facts, they issued a full refund, and we were forced to find another groomer because this experience destroyed all trust in the platform.

Then it got even sketchier.

After:

the appointment time had passed

the groomer blocked the number

Groomit was notified

the refund was processed

and a review was left

We suddenly received messages implying the cancellation was initiated by us, which is categorically false. Groomit later claimed a call was received requesting cancellation—despite the fact that the groomer had already blocked communication and failed to show.

This feels like retroactive narrative control, not customer service.

This is not about a refund. This is about a platform that:

Misrepresents service availability

Employs groomers who fail to show up and block clients

Contradicts its own timeline

Attempts to rewrite events after the fact

When pets are involved—especially cats requiring medical consideration—this level of incompetence and dishonesty is unacceptable.

I would strongly caution anyone considering Groomit: do not trust the scheduling, do not trust the communication, and do not trust the post-incident explanations. The screenshots tell a very different story than Groomit does.

My dog was treated extremely poorly and…

My dog was treated extremely poorly and came back covered in small cuts and was hurting for weeks. The groomer arrived two hours before the selected time frame so I had to cancel meetings to accommodate him. The two previous groomers booked BOTH canceled (one while he was “on his way”).
