10 out of 10! A lovely man picks up the phone immediately to answer any questions. He went out of his way to help me with speedy delivery. Amazing customer service. Really recommend this company.
After 80 times having been cancelled in 2 years i left the school with frustration. They are a paragliding school trying to sell paramotor courses. If you don`t mind recommendations like "buy your equipment on ebay", "fly like i say, not like i do" or simply walk 8 days in a row 10x uphill to fly 5 seconds (and being told continue the same stuff you`ve done on the first day) - this is the school for you. If you wanna become a professional paramotor trainer simply choose APPI .... Greendragoons and BHPA is made for paragliders only. Their sylabus forces you to become a glider first. That`s like being forced to learn bicyle when you wanna have a driving licence. The APPI traing is way more suitable for people who wanna become Paramotor Pilots.

Foundation Skills and Safety
We fundamentally disagree with your bicycle-to-car analogy. In paramotoring, mastering wing control through paragliding is essential before adding engine power. This isn't comparable to learning unrelated skills, but rather like learning to walk before you run. A pilot who cannot properly handle a wing without power will be significantly more dangerous with an engine strapped to their back. This progression ensures you develop the critical skills needed to handle emergency situations, weather changes, and wing collapses safely.
Training Standards
The syllabus we follow is the BHPA (British Hang Gliding and Paragliding Association) standard, which is internationally recognised and designed to produce well-rounded, competent pilots. This structured approach has been developed over decades and prioritises safety alongside skill development. We believe in thorough training rather than shortcuts, as aviation skills require proper foundation building.
Individual Assessment
Our instructors make professional judgments about when students are ready to progress to powered flight. This assessment considers not only technical ability but also attitude towards instruction, safety awareness, and decision-making skills. We have a responsibility to ensure that anyone we recommend for engine training demonstrates the maturity and respect for the sport that paramotoring demands.
Safety Standards
You are correct that we do not recommend engine training for every student. This decision is never taken lightly and is based on safety considerations for the individual, other airspace users, and our professional liability. Aviation training requires this level of responsibility.
Weather Considerations
We consistently advised booking training from April onward due to more favourable weather conditions. Winter weather last year was particularly tough. Despite these recommendations, you chose to continue booking winter sessions, which naturally limited optimal training opportunities.
We remain committed to maintaining high safety standards in our training programs and producing competent, responsible pilots.

Green Dragons Paragliding School / Green Dragons AirSports. Wow! I was most impressed! Top Quality Outfit.
The Chief Flying Instructor (CFI) there is Andy Shaw. Andy is probably the most experienced man ever, currently alive getting out in the sky……. Hang-Gliding / Paragliding / ParaMotor / Skydiving / Parachuting / There is probably more, but he doesn’t like to talk about it……….
The Instructors at the Club….. They don’t like to talk about or brag…. But I have picked up some delicious snippets in my time there that most of the instructing staff are on the British National Team in Paragliding and Hang-Gliding!........ [but they don’t like to talk about it]…….. Ability and Skill in Flying and Teaching are there in fistfuls at GDA!…….
I could go on……. I will….. they have multiple flying sites available according to wind direction and conditions etc…….. A Ridge / A Bowl / Huge open flat clear fields / I don’t think that I’ve seen them all yet……..
Just one more thing, I must say…… Andy is the most calm gentle patient understanding person that I have ever known…… Extraordinary gentle man!
Oh, just one more thing, I must say……. Google this…….. [Before Andy Shaw, the club was founded 50 years ago by absolute flying / sky legend, and hero, Leslie Shaw. He just so wanted to get people airborne! And he has succeeded admirably] – What a very Good Start to Green Dragons Air-Sports! – Google it….. Pedigree and History are here in Bucket-Loads!].
In the Words of Obi One Kenobi……. ‘Nowhere else will you find a more……. excellent centre of teaching and learning (Yeah, OB1 says ‘wretched hive of scum and villainy’ but I’ve turned this around. Hope you got the film ref…….!].

First day of the student pilot course was amazing! The sport is weather dependent so the combination with lockdown restrictions meant rebooking when conditions were not suitable was necessary but the instructors are all so helpful, professional and friendly it was well managed. Flying is the stuff dreams are made of and after ground handling and learning to inflate the paraglider the dream became reality with a first flight from top to bottom of the hill. Lovely countryside, great mix of ages and good fun company made for a really super introduction to the sport

Personally I would never trust these guys again - Very underhanded and you risk losing anything you pay to them. I paid nearly £1000 for personalised assessments and training but for months every time I called I received an answerphone message stating no training due to weather. After I had used up all my annual leave trying to get training I went away on expedition for a few months and on return again tried only to find similar behaviour. I visited them personally several times to try and resolve the issue but to no avail and eventually gave up after two years losing a lot of money - I now have the only option of taking them to court and that I will do......

Health and Safety are priority no. 1 with these guys.
I read some reviews that moan because the weather wasn't flyable and they needed to reschedule. Well, I am glad that my friends didn't fly, just because of bad weather! A little inconvenience surely saves lives in the long run.
I am no expert but these guys are world champions! They are professional and such fun.
