I am extremely disappointed with my experience with Gempundit, and I strongly caution international customers before purchasing from them.

I am based in Toronto, Canada, and purchased a silver ring with blue sapphire for approximately CAD 1,700. When I received the ring, it did not fit my finger properly, and the sapphire had multiple visible inclusions. Due to this, I decided to return the ring and reorder a new one with a better-quality sapphire at a higher price.

Before returning the item, I followed every instruction provided by Gempundit’s support team. On December 11, 2025, I shipped the ring back to India via UPS, attaching all required documents, including the original invoice and return paperwork, exactly as advised.

Since then, the ring has been stuck in Indian customs for nearly two months. I have now been told there are “restrictions on importing silver into India,” which makes no sense in this case:
1. The silver is of Indian origin, not a new import.
2. This is a return shipment, not a fresh purchase.
3. I complied fully with the company’s documented return process.

Despite this, Gempundit has taken no effective action to resolve the situation. The responsibility to prove to customs that this is a return of Indian-origin silver lies with the company, not the customer. Repeated follow-ups have resulted only in vague responses such as “we are working on it,” with no timeline, no accountability, and no resolution.

At this point, CAD 1,700 of my money is at risk, and the situation has become critical. This delay is not due to any mistake on my end, yet I am the one bearing the financial stress.

For a company dealing in high-value gemstones, this level of post-sale support is unacceptable. If you are an international buyer, be aware that returns can turn into a nightmare, and you may be left helpless if issues arise.

I sincerely hope Gempundit takes responsibility and resolves this immediately, but based on my experience so far, I cannot recommend this company.

I had a very bad experience with their stone setting not just once but twice. They will say that the stone will not come out but after wearing it regularly, few months later the stone will come out. I bought a citrine ring from that has white stones set around it. I use to wear it on and off last week after wearing it for 3days, I see that one of the white stone is missing. Now the ring is wasted if I am not able to get it repaired
