I'm putting my property on the market with an estate agent who uses Focal Agent for their photography. I am extremely disappointed with photos the agent sent through (the agent only sent through the best of them) - poorly composed, carelessly taken, mostly unusable. How do Focal Agent actually verify the abilities of the people they use? Just because you have a camera and a tripod doesn't mean you are a photographer. I am going back on the market using mostly the far superior photography I paid for (and have permission to use) when I was last on the market with a previous agent - even though I had wanted a `fresh' look for the new listing. It is very interesting to read on here views from professional photographers who have decided Focal Agent is not for them. I had wondered what estate agents actually pay - very little it seems - but it's a false economy. In my case the poor quality has just meant the agent has spent a lot of time working on the few Focal Agent photos we are going to use and both the agent and I have spent a large amount of time trying to identify usable photos and all in all it is a waste of everyone's time (and money) if you don't get a proper job done in the first place. My tip is - if your agent uses Focal Agent, get your own photography done - or at least ask to see actual property photos taken by the actual photographer who will be taking yours (not just anyone who's allocated).
