Terrible experience, very unfriendly staff, made it quite plain that we were not welcome and staff not prepared to let 5 friends sit together, told we were overcrowding.

Friendly staff, lovely home cooked food. Brilliant service.

Went for supper asked whether the dog was included in our party of 4!! Seated in the bar area, not the dining area. Three of our party had issues with their food, two had steak which was very tough and chewy, the third diner had fish and chips. Chips for all three diners were only warm, when we raised concerns, offer was made to chose another dish, but that would have meant diners eating meals at different times . Very disappointing, not their normal good standard.

Complete rip off!!! I ordered a crab and prawn salad which was not only tiny but there was no bread or anything to go with the very meagre portion I was given. I was charged £24 for this miniscule and substandard food.
On arrival we were told that the order had to be within the next 3 minutes because the chef was going off, this was only early evening.
Everything about the place was rushed, uncaring and the service was very poor so clearly nothing was positive.
The other two people in our party ordered hamburgers which was served with undercooked chips and no side salad ... we were charged £19 for each similarly poor offering.
I will certainly never go to this place again which clearly thinks that the good view from the outside seating allows it to be lax and overcharge while being completely substandard.

Absolutely stunning views from the roof terrace. I booked 2 rooms for a trip with friends on arrival check in was great, the rooms initially seemed lovely but due to a busy noisy road you couldnt open windows and it was a hot night, but no fans provided. But the room was very clean and facilities adequate for the one night. We had booked on a special deal of dinner, bed & breakfast. The dinner was lovely, not run of the mill food different choices and the waitress was on her own and dealing with many covers in the restaurant but she was very efficient and constantly cheerful a credit to the pub. I'm sorry to say breakfast was not such a good experience the person covering it had very poor customer service skills he gave no direction or welcome, we waited quite a while for our hot drinks to arrive we then had to ask for milk for cereals, some of the cereal jars were almost empty.We had to clear our own cereal dishes , The cooked breakfast was very good but not offered any additional drinks or fruit juice and the whole experience was spoilt by the very lack lustre approach of the duty manager.

As wedding photographers, we had the pleasure of capturing a wedding at The Fleece Countryside Inn. The hand-pulled beers and carefully selected wines were the perfect complement to the dining experience. We were impressed by the quality of the food and the attention to detail in every dish.

In addition to its stunning views and delicious food, The Fleece also has seven onsite en-suite bedrooms for guests to enjoy a mini break and explore the surrounding area. This added convenience made it easy for the wedding party to relax and enjoy their time at the venue.

The Fleece's dedicated events team was a true standout for us. They were on hand to help with planning every step of the way and ensured that the wedding day was relaxed and went smoothly. This was evident in the flawless execution of the wedding and the happy, carefree smiles on the faces of the bride and groom.

We cannot recommend The Fleece enough as a wedding venue. The breathtaking views, delicious food, comfortable accommodations, and dedicated events team make this venue a true gem. Endless photo opportunities and the promise of a relaxed and unforgettable wedding day make it the perfect location for any couple looking to tie the knot.
