Wouldn’t even give it one
Wouldn’t even give it one. The park is in absolute disarray. 8 rides broke whilst we were there. People got stuck on them in the air for long periods of time. The park was an absolute tip and full of rubbish at opening so you know it’s rubbish left over from previous days. Sewage smell absolutely everywhere. Bins not being emptied. Not fresh water available unless you want to pay about £4 a bottle. Will never ever visit this dump again. They are robbing folk with their prices. Light water valley is a cheap albeit the rides are small but they run well and the park is immaculate. How flamingoland think they can charge what they do is beyond me. DIVE the animal habitats were also full of litter! Oh let’s not forget also I have to wait over a whole month to get a reply about my complaint which was met with a stupid robotic response. Pathetic.
An expensive day out
An expensive day out, the zoo is dreadful hardly any animals.
Only three rides for under 5s
Will not be going again
Long long Queues & unhappy animals
We visited Flamingo Land as a group of 5, two adults, two children around 12 and one about 15 months old. Unfortunately this review is consistent with those from the past 12 months; the theme park has not benefitted from any investment and is looking very tired; there are a few rides which are blatantly not going to open for months or even years.....'Flip Flop' is a good example where its obvious it's been dismantled for a good while and looks more like a theme ride scrap yard. The log floom ride is another example, we were there just over a year ago where it had been under construction a good while and its still not finished....not surprising though seeing as we saw only 2 people doing any kind of work on it.
While we were there, all of the main rides seemed to be open, at least most of the time. The queues are as bad as has been suggested; the main thrill seeker rides are between 45-60 minutes long. At the end our day, my daughter and I queued for 'Hero'....the queue wasn't that long compared to other rides such as Sik. About 45 minutes in and due to both a combination of queue holders (people keeping the place in the queue for others that come along 30 minutes later) and Fast Track / VIP ride passes, we were still only half way through the queue and in the end had to abandon the wait. I think the whole day my daughter went on 5 rides and stood in queues for 5 hours.
Then there is the zoo, which has always been a really nice idea....apart from the animals are very scarce within their enclosures, and the ones that are visible look thoroughly depressed (examples were the black rhino and especially the poor seal that seems to only be able to swim backwards and forwards in the same bit of water).
Most of the staff look very demotivated and go at a pedestrian pace.
The positives, the Wallaby enclosure was well organised and a nice touch within the zoo area.
The theme park desperately needs investment, but why would the owners do that when the place is still so busy.
Luckily we had half price tickets (doesn't everyone these days) but it certainly wouldn't be worth the money at full price, only if your hobby is to stand in long queues. Spend your money elsewhere.
Dirty and Lodges not clean fully prior to arrival
We booked a lodge at Flamingo Land with hot tub for a family of eight for a Monday to Friday holiday in July.
When we arrived at lunchtime we were told that the lodge would be ready for between 4 and 5pm, when it had been ‘cleaned’.
We picked up the keys to the ‘cleaned’ lodge at 5pm, settled in and unpacked.
On first impressions the lodge looked great, except that the dishwasher appeared to have the front panel missing, although could be opened and used. Not a good start.
We had planned a meal in the lodge for the first evening, only to find there was not enough cutlery for 8 guests and also had a plate missing also.
This was our first trip to customer relations. The guy on reception we spoke to said there was no one available to replace the missing items, so he disappeared for ten minutes to find replacements.
Later that evening one of our group dropped something behind one of the settees. We moved the settee to find dirt, rubbish and a piece of old pizza.
We then moved the other settee and this had obviously not been cleaned underneath either.
We cleaned up the mess as best we could and reported it to the same guy at the customer relations office. We showed him the photo of the rubbish and he said it was not acceptable and could arrange for someone to clean it up in the morning. I said I thought that was supposed to happen when the lodges were being cleaned.
He asked me to complete a complaint form, which I did straight away. He said this complaint would be taken up by a manager in the morning.
We never received any communication from anyone for the next day, so I contacted the office by phone. I was told to ring the following day to speak with Robert Mansfield who was the manager who would be dealing with my complaint.
When I rang as requested I was told that Robert was on holiday that day, and he would ring me the following day. Which would then be Friday, our departure day.
He did ring, and said that the state of the lodge was not satisfactory and would look to see what he could do as recompense.
That is the last we heard from him. I have emailed him a number of times and not received any response.
I checked on the web for the Flamingo land complaints procedure, but it appears they do not have one.
With regards to the rest of the park, it is dirty – we never saw anyone cleaning anywhere. The outside tables in the café have wooden benches that are dirty with food.
It is some years since we were in Flamingo land, and this will certainly be our last.
Poor maintenance
Although the rides were thrilling, that's when they where running, or had not broke down. While we was there 21 August for 4 days, I noticed staff member got verbally abused, they where not happy in the job. Poor maintenance around the whole park, wooden walkways with rotten safety guard rails, it's not long before someone will get hurt. It requires some money to be invested in the place, toilet and shower blocks in need of repair/ renovation.
Went hear a few times about 5 years ago…
Went hear a few times about 5 years ago so I took my son hear and he has disabilities and wow do they need to be trained my son was getting ignored when trying to interact with staff members there was only the woman who worked in the shop and chippy that was very nice with him and there was over 8 rides shut down in the few days we was there and he had to line up in a que for 30mins to try to get him a wheelchair but there wasn't any so we had to go back the next day to line up in a que again for 25mins then we was given a fast pass just to line up in a que for 40mins then when he went on the ride he had to wait 2 hour before he could go on another so in 1 day he could only go on 4 rides. The park defo needs doing up as it looks ran down and there use to be alot of shows that he was looking forward to but the shows was not there anymore. The toilets and disabled toilets was so dirty and no hot water out of the taps from the disabled toilet. We paid alot of money to camp there for 5 days but we was so frustrated how my little lad was treated we went home early this place is just a money grab.avoid at all cost never going hear again. I also took my son on hero where the ride operator which was a girl who was very tanned with dark hair got told that the ride needs to be at a full stop when my son gets on and off it yet this idiot opens the cage at the back so I had to grab my son to make sure he didn't fall out all she could say was oh ye sorry !!! Avoid this place
Avoid!!!!!
If you have a family member with disabilities avoid this place at all costs!!! My son who has lots of disabilities including autism and ADHD was nearly really hurt because of a stupid ride Opperater she is very tanned with dark hair always had a smug look on her face.. She was told before my son got on the ride it need to be at a full stop when he gets on it and off it she was like ok ye that's fine then it come to the stupid idiot opening up the cage at the back of the ride as it was still moving to where my son dad had to grab hold of him because he nearly fell these idiots are not trained with disabilities and are a bunch of young ignorant idiots who can even say hi back to a child who says hi to them thay would rather just give smug looks .... The park is run down it needs sorting out most rides where not even running or broken down no baird show or and shows no more it's a joke of a place now and I will definitely not return!!!!
The attractions were very good
The attractions were very good for our grandchildren aged 3 and 5. No long queues even though it was high season, but the caravan was the grubbiest I have ever stayed in. I had to clean the stains off the caravan carpet and turn the cushions over to hide their stains. The fridge had no shelves in the door. I also had to spend the first 30 minutes trying to put four of the six curtains back on the curtain rails. Not good enough for a premier plus caravan. When I told reception they just offered to send someone to look at it, but the family had already unpacked. It was only when checking out they said they would have offered us another caravan. Shame they did not offer me that option originally.
Avoid this joint like the plague
Avoid this joint like the plague. Where to start. Perhaps with four rides being closed either temporarily or permanently for the day, and the queues being ridiculous, two hours for mumbo jumbo, an hour and a half for another. The highlight for me was the state of the toilets, literal poo all over the seats (not even in the bowls!) in both the men's and women's. Stayed that way all day. All the grass is overgrown, the paths and bushes are caked in litter, the animals look absolutely depressed and ready for life to end. Also, there were familes of 30, 20, 15 people absolutely hogging benches, vaping, and someone somehere was smoking some stronger stuff. Oh and it cost about £300.
This place is disgusting dirty staff…
This place is disgusting dirty staff uniforms are filthy the eating places I don't no how get past health an safety had wait hours in ques half rides weren't on an it was a Saturday but the main thing was hygiene I refused but any food or drink from that place and them poor animals are in right state the few they have left disgusting should be closed down 7 half thousand in that park yet they were short staffed but let loads in .
Complete rip off experience
Complete rip off experience. Most of the rides were closed on an August Saturday. Those open had incredibly slow turn around times, even for those of us with an access pass. Many of the zoo paddocks were empty of any animals. Toilets filthy. Staff poorly trained and unfriendly. One can only assume that the place is going bust but taking money under false pretences.
Wouldn’t recommend
Absolutely terrible experience. Many rides closed for the day, some for half the day (planned closures too!), yet the tickets were still at full price. This in turn made the queues excessively long due to the limited amount of rides available, stood waiting for cliffhanger for 45mins and wasn’t even halfway before we stepped out. Other rides had waiting times as long as 3 hours. As we went as a big family we couldn’t wait to queue that long so went on no big rides. All that money for a zoo basically. Most fun the kids had was playing in the water park. Don’t waste your money coming here even the VIP queues were long. For what we spent you could go Yorkshire wildlife park and Alton towers for less. Not to mention the food was overpriced and poor quality. Would not recommend unless you want to disappoint your children.
Wouldn’t visit again
Wouldn’t visit again. It’s poorly organised, over priced and far too compact. Mumbo Jumbo had a 185 minute queue, that’s over 3 hours out of the 8 hours the park is open for queueing for one ride. Velocity was closed without any forewarning (it was a planned closure), Hero was closed for half the day. We managed 3 rides across the whole day. The value for money just isn’t there, a family of 5 with a Kids Pass discount cost ~£130, £26 a person to go on 3 rides, plus £50 for some snide microwave burgers.
All the queues could be controlled by having more trains per ride and just better queue management, such as not waiting for the train to empty before sending people to the gates for each set of seats.
VIP/Fast Passes are £50 for 6 rides (you cant pay per ride, given there aren’t 6 active big rides its a waste or money) plus the queues the VIP people were in were still long.
They also kept leaving single rider seats free but only Sik has a single rider queue, so it’s just making the waits longer.
All in all would just go to Alton Towers instead next time.
We went today for the first time in 25…
We went today for the first time in 25 years. I got discounted tickets through 'kids pass'.
They have a decent selection of rides and the zoo was good. 'Velocity' apparently can't operate in high temperatures, however, everything else was open for most of the day.
My only real criticism would be the low volume throughput on some of the rides. 'Mumbo Jumbo' and 'hero' literally had 8 on at a time and should've been running three trains. 'Kumali' needs 2 trains also. The 'fast pass' folk on 'Sik' were waiting longer than the normal queue - which is ridiculous. Same on 'Kumali'.
The food and drink was great though. Excellent quality and good value. A pint of Madri cost £1 less than in my local, which is amazing for a theme park. The fish and chips were only £10ish and cooked fresh. At Merlin parks it'd be nearly double and they'd be frozen.
The staff were all really pleasant. Nice folk.
Well done to flamingo land for offering good value to families. The queues need work, but we'll be back soon. Nice day.
Extremely long que times
Extremely long que times, 2 kids rides in 4 hours! Kids was left really frustrated and disappointed.4 rides we qued for broke so didnt ger to ride them. We expected it to be busy, but there is little organisation. The big theme parks seem to handle busy periods so much better. Expensive day out for 2 rides. Unfortunately we won't be coming back.
i went to flamingo land with my family…
i went to flamingo land with my family today and since it’s the school holidays and obviously it is expected to receive large queues but today was absolutely ridiculous. i had only went on 2 rides out of the whole resort which is shocking considering i arrived at half 10 in the morning and stayed till 5 in the evening. the staff and managers should organise public holidays more better than letting everyone run riot in the resort which leads to these problems. they should put a system in place where there should be an amount of people who are allowed to come in. Also, this issue caused lots of people to be very upset and angry throughout the day about the queues and the way the resort was ran which also ruins young children’s day. It is also not fair for only going on 2 rides in the whole 6+ hours i was there. it was not worth the money even though it was on sale it’s still extra if you are in a larger family size and it wasn’t worth spending the amount as some people don’t even have that. The resort should provide your moneys worth. And it ruined the whole day for me and my family and i would not recommend anyone to attend flamingo land in the holidays. and also not only the rides i didn’t even get to go on i also hardly saw any animals and it was outrageous considering that’s the only other thing to do instead of waiting in queues because clearly that’s all my day was filled with. overall i have not enjoyed my experience it was more better in covid to be honest
Don’t waste your money!
Don’t waste your money! We went here today 11/6/26 as a family of 4, it cost a fortune and the queues were horrendous, it was taking over an hour on some rides and the staff seemed to take an eternity to make any effort to get the queues down. If you are happy to spend so much money and stand around all day with kids frustrated at the amount of time they have to wait then this is the place for you but as far as we are concerned it’s a complete rip off!
And the fact that we all had to pay the same amount and we as parents did not want to go on any rides was even more frustrating.
shocker
shocker , rides closed throughout the park waste of money
Flamingo Land was good.
Flamingo Land
was good. All the rides were open but mumbo jumbo took a bit of time to open, queue times for sik, hero and kumali were a bit long. When me, my dad and my sister rode sik we decided to get a VIP pass which is 50 pounds per person, then we went to velocity and the queue was short but the staff were letting in 4 or 2 people and the rest were non queue and non VIP pass people, so queue times were a bit shorter but not much. Velocity was short and the waiting made the actual ride a little less fun, after velocity we went to hero which was alright though they were letting more people without queue passes or VIP then people with those passes, then we went to kumali which was great wait times were alright and the ride was fun then we went to eat but the food was expensive and was just alright pterodactyl was better than cliff hanger and was scary, cliff hanger was meh, it was too short then mumbo jumbo opened and we were lucky cuz there was no people and the staff didn't tick our VIP passes so we got and extra queue use and we went to kumali again. Overall it was all in a day's worth.
Today went to Flamingoland with family…
Today went to Flamingoland with family was great, just got home, love Flamingoland great rides, great zoo
