Went to the Somerford branch and was rudely dismissed by a female member of staff that thought the sun shone from that area we do not mention here on trustpilot I won’t go back there ever ever ever again. The reason I have two stars is I went to their Wimborne branch where the staff were helpful and professional who should get a minimum of four ( the shop is a bit tatty not the staffs fault) and I would use them again

When I bought a duckweed treatment product 17/6/23 the salesman John said if it doesn't work bring it back with the receipt and we will refund you. It didn't work so today I took the remainder and receipt back for my refund, the assistant just laughed and said they couldn't take it back as I had used some, he also called me a liar for relating what John had told me.

We went to Littlehampton store 2 weeks ago brought 9 fish took them home, 1 week late half of them were dead, went to the store and they said it was the water in our tank, which I must add that the fish we had in there was thriving since that week all the fish in the tank have now all died all I was offered was store credit which Is no good as I don't want to use your company I will be going back to get my money back I want direct contact with someone and not emailing cs

Took my niece into the store today and spent some time looking at getting her a new pet, was a very warm welcome from a lady called Nat who explained all the things we'd need to know in regards to buying a tank, food and the fish themselves was super grateful to have such good customer service as we went into the store with no knowledge at all!

Just visited the Maidenhead Aquatics branch within Leekes, Melksham. Bought some fish for my daughters and was served by a lovely chap called Barry. He was so friendly, had loads of knowledge about the fish and just a general lovely guy all around- very friendly and happy! He’s a credit to your store and will hopefully get some praise for this!! Thanks again Barry I have two very happy little girls!!

I bought 12 tropical fish and 3 pond fish. Went back 2 days later as 4 tropical and 3 pond fish had died. They replaced them for me however over the course of the week I’m left with no fish from the 22 fish I’ve had. They tried to make out something was wrong with the water etc but the fish is purchased elsewhere are thriving and I’ve lost no fish from them. Water tests are perfect, temp perfect and live bacteria added when new fish added to the tank. Pond fish turned water cloudy as soon as I opened the bag. Absolutely disgusting, feel awful for the fish and my daughter is absolutely shattered everyday when we lose 3/4 fish. Wouldn’t mind but they’re double the price of the other place that provides good quality fish that love their environment. I’ll be going for a refund tomorrow as I’m not standing for £80 purchase for nothing!

We woke up on Sunday morning to find our current fish tank had a major leak.
I called maidenhead findern to see if they had a tank set up available for us to go and collect that day the staff member who answered the photo was extremely rude he for some reason shouted down the phone we don’t have any tanks and slammed the phone down before I could even ask another question
We spent our time and money at a local
Independent aquatic shop who was very pleased to sell a full set up to us

Usually when you visit such an establishment you are greeted with informed, knowledgeable and passionate staff. Not at this place.
The man offered no advice and answered my questions with one word answers. Their card machine wasn't working properly and had an error saying "Only present one card." The staff member insinuated it was my fault because it had worked all day.
He offered no solutions - not his fault , he seemed like a brain dead zombie devoid of any emotions and intelligence. I asked if I could transfer to a bank account. He said no. I asked to turn on and off the machine and he claimed he couldn't - a lie. I eventually asked to move the machine and then it worked.
The staff member was too busy talking to his friends. I asked him how much the large fish tank was and he didn't even know. "Around £1,000 I guess."
This man was acting like a 17 year old disinterested teenager, but looked in his 30s. I asked if there was a special way to add the fish to the pond. "Just put them in."
He also insinuated that I was lying that I needed data to use my banking app because his iPhone -which he obviously had bought on financed credit - didn't need it.
I feel awful for the owner as the staff there are taking the absolute Mickey.

My pump in my pond stopped working so went to maidenhead aquatics.
They tried it in their pond and it worked.
Everyone was mystified by this, so they went out their way to come to my house and look at my set up and found the problem was with the pump.
They gave me another pump .
I can't Believe how good the service is at the Lincoln branch.
Won't use anywhere else 👍

Prices here are extortionate compared to finest aquatics !!! How do they make any profits, the aquarium plants are so much more expensive and in my opinion on really poor quality compared to other shops nearby

A brilliant assistant called Lewis who works at the Stapleton, Leics branch, saved my sanity. Cleaning my Blagdon pond out I broke the end off the impeller. I rang and spoke to this young man who knew exactly what had happened. I visited the store with the rest of the pump, he sold me the part and showed me how to fit it, as I had to leave part of the pump at home. He couldn’t have been more helpful and after getting home I fitted the part and it works. So grateful to this young man.

We visited the Hare Hatch store yesterday due a problem with our very old pump for our pond. Stefan was absolutely brilliant in the help he gave us in troubleshooting the existing pump and advising on a replacement. He gave me clear instructions (to a very anxious customer) on how to set the new pump up. I can’t recommend him highly enough. Brilliant shop, brilliant staff. He also gave recommendations for a contact for any future pond maintenance issues we may need in the future.
I don’t know how my review came under a ‘dissatisfied customer’ when quite clearly I am a VERY satisfied customer!!

I absolutely recommend this place the fishes are kept in clean and organised environment. All different sizes of fishes from tiny to large and beautiful colours to see. I enjoyed feeding the fishes it was enjoyable to watch and observe. If you are thinking of buying fishes it is worth a visit to come and see the wide selection of fishes at Maidenhead Aquatics.

Looking to restart my old style aquarium that I haven’t used for over 8 years. Went to the shop in Pyle near Bridgend and spoke to Pat and John. Their knowledge not only of which fish to have but also of my particular older tank was simply outstanding. They advised me on everything that was out new now with regards to the filtration.
The shop maybe one of the smaller ones but it’s well worth a visit.

I live quite close to Maidenhead Aquatics in Newport and have bought from them 5 or 6 times in the last couple of years I've had a tank. The staff and their level of knowledge is good, with maybe a bit of a push to sell more animals than is right for your tank.
I've bought plants twice and the second time got an infestation of pest snails.
Most recently though, I bought 4 guppies, nothing to break the bank, but over the last 6 weeks I've become tired of watching them get sick and die. I have 1 surviving now. I have guppies from another shop who have been in my tank longer and who have all survived all of this, so it does seem to be an issue specifically with the fish from Maidenhead Aquatics. I also have hydra now, which as I have shrimp too is a concern.
I would suggest not shopping there for live animals.

have used a number of Maidenhead shops over the past 10 years. as ever with large retailers you get good outlets and not so good outlets. i would advise if you have a bad experience there is probably another one not to far away.
i used the Dukeries shop for many years and got to know the staff well. all were very knowledgeable on the hobby and could assist with even the most out there questions. sad this store is no longer operating. that said i have also used the large store in Sheffield recently which is a great store and staff. again very helpful and know there stuff. great selection of products from tanks, to plants to fish. to anyone starting out in the in the hobby i would suggest popping in to have a chat. my experience is maiden head employ people passionate about fish keeping who are happy to talk you through the do's and don't as well as giving advise on tank mates etc.
I have had £1000's of fish from Maiden head stores and to date never had an issue with them. I will continue to use them :-)

I was served by Nicholas today at Morden Hall centre. Fantastic service, awesome advice, real specialist in the field and gave great recommendations. Didn’t advise on the most expensive product instead on the one most suitable to my preferences!! Cant recommend enough!
