Such a pity that a company run by James Rogers can get it so wrong! Findlays have a fantastic wine list.
Getting it delivered on time with no hassle seems to evade them.
Delivery due date for my order came and went with no wine delivery.
Spoke with James (seemed very personable) who guaranteed me a delivery date. Nothing happened- tried to contact the company without success so used neighbouring outlets to give him messages which seems to have upset him as he cancelled my order without explanation. Now awaiting refund.
Still very thirsty and out of pocket!

Like everyone else, placed an order (back in March), but didn't receive it. Phone response says the callback service is full and can't accept any more messages, so I suspect they've gone bust, possibly deliberately. Avoid at all costs.

Maybe it's no coincidence that the website is findlay swine.co.uk, but maybe 'swindle' would be better.

Like so many others - ordered wine in Feb, no wine….. finally spoke to someone in April who was charming and agreed to refund me….. still no refund, can’t get through on the telephone, emails just get automated response…… ARGGH!

Ordered wine in March. Despite multiple phone calls & messages left, still not received. Money taken!! This business is plainly run by a CROOK!!

Ordered in Jan and still not received. Said would call back multiple times and never does.
Blatant fraud taking my money and not sending my wine.
AVOID LIKE THE PLAGUE.
ALSO AVOID THEWINERACK.CO.UK which the owner has just setup, presumably as this current business is going to be shut down so he is starting a new one. Make sure everyone adds a negative review to that one too so no one else gets scammed.

DO NOT USE.
They are very good at taking your money.
No wine.
No communication and no refund.

Failed to deliver or refund after many requests

Like so many others it seems, I ordered 6 bottles of wine from this outfit, which, after many promises and delays, never appeared. I have contacted Devon Trading Standards and they tell me they are pursuing this firm. How they are still trading, I cannot imagine.

Ordered wine never arrived after 6 weeks - I said I wanted a refund - told they were having problems processing refunds . Not been able to get through to them since , in order to get a refund.

I ordered 6 bottles of wine which did not arrive and neither did the refund. I have gone through my bank for a chargeback and received this (they were brilliant). James seems like a really lovely chap. Very charming and knowledgeable about wine but something is seriously awry with the business. It is a shame but as a previous reviewer suggested, Findlays need to stop taking orders, taking money and sort out their supply issues.

Almost identical experience as previous reviewers unfortunately. Shambles from start to finish resulting in me cancelling my order for 2 bottles of Taittinger due to the delivery date being too late; all discovered following several calls to them and eventually being told of a delayed shipment. I cancelled the order and requested a refund on 27th March which I have not received. I've emailed, WhatsApp'd and called and left messages with no response so have raised a dispute with the bank. Personally I don't believe this business to be a scam but think something has gone very wrong (likely financially) and they should stop taking online orders until its resolved and all current customers' issues remedied.

Minimum delivery date: Wednesday, 26 March
Maximum delivery date: Tuesday, 1 April

I have phoned a number of times during business hours over the last four weeks.

On each of the three occasions the call has actually been answered, I have been told that this order would be belatedly actioned.

The first on 7/5/2025 resulted only in the order moving, a week later, to the status of processing on 15/4/2025.

In the second, 28/4/2025, I was assured that delivery would be by 2/5/2025. There was no delivery and no follow up.

In the third, 7/5/2025, I was told that by now a bottle was no longer available and we agreed a substitute. I was to be phoned 8/5/2025 to confirm dispatch of the order. However, the tracking is still at the status of processing, I have not been phoned, and there is no answer to my calls.

I have tried replying to the Findlay email address and received an auto-response email asking me to phone the number that is rarely answered or to WhatsApp it. To which Whatsapp says this number is not on WhatsApp - not surprisingly as it is a landline!

I’ve left messages on the answerphone.

The auto-response email also directed me, alternatively, to post a message on the website, on the order page. This I did.

Still no response.

Now pursuing cancellation with credit card provider.

First order was fine but the order on 16 March has not arrived by 9 May. I called when it was late and to be fair was told it was delayed and was offered an alternative but I foolishly said I'd wait. Then emails are not answered and phone calls are not picked up so I have turned it over to my credit card company as a retailer dispute AFTER 7 WEEKS FROM INITIAL ORDER. Had I read the reviews I would never have used Findlay's Wines. Cowboys, and hard not to conclude they are scammers.

This is a scam - I will be contacting the police tomorrow. Avoid!!!!!!

Waste of space

Not delivered by 22 April so phoned. James said that he didn't know why, but "would look into it". Told him I needed it before 26 April for a party. He said he would get it shipped direct and I would get by 25th. Didn't come. Phoned again on 25th and told him I couldn't wait any longer. He confirmed my card details and said that he would issue a refund which may take between 2 and 5 days to reach my account. 7 May still no refund. Tried to phone but no answer. Unable even to leave a message as voicemail box was full. Phoned my card provider who gave me a refund.
Many similar experiences posted by others on Trustpilot. Moral - don't be misled by professional looking website and always read reviews before ordering. Caveat emptor

How this company is allowed to trade astounds me. Ordered a bottle of £56 Mezcal , 6 weeks later no communication and no Mezcal, phoned them, oh we've changed suppliers, will be with you shortly. 3 weeks later still no Mezcal. Phoned again to cancel order and request refund, no problem, refund will be in your account after 5 working days, still no refund, phone again, oh you must have a block on your bank account, I'll call you back in an hour, no phone call. Phoned again, can i have you bank details, I'll do a bank transfer, still no money refunded into my account. Lies after lies after lies, they're nothing but filthy scammers. I'll call again tomorrow and if this matter is not resolved, I will be reporting them to my bank, and also reporting then to trading standards and then I will be contacting their local newspaper The Exmouth Journal, explaining the situation and I'm pretty sure they'll be interested in all the other customers they have ripped off. Avoid these scum like the plague.

Ordered 12 bottles of wine on 3 April and payment taken from credit card. Delivery was to be 11 April latest. Nothing delivered. Telephoned and spoke to a man who apologised and said he would find out why. Spoke to him again and he guaranteed delivery by 18 April. Still no delivery. Have rung every day since then and left messages as no one answers the phone. Have now put in hands of credit card company who will give refund and charge the supplier

Ordered a bottle of wine which the website said was in stock. Was given an estimated delivery of 3-7 working days. After the end of the estimated delivery range, I still didn't have the wine I ordered, and there was no email of it being out for delivery, I only had the order confirmation. I phoned up and someone answered almost immediately. The person I spoke to was nice to be fair, and told me my order hadn't been processed correctly so it hadn't went through, but also the wine I ordered was actually out of stock and should be removed from the website for the time being. I was given the option to wait for the wine to be back in stock (2-3 weeks) or get a refund. I chose the refund but this also came with problems. I was told the refund would take 3-5 working days, and after the 5th working day no refund was issued to me so I had to dispute this payment with my bank. Seems like this website doesn't have the wines they claim to have in stock and then try source the wine once someone orders it.

Terrible customer service, if you are prepared to chase them COUNTLESS TIMES for your order, that might show up incomplete, then go ahead.

Submitted an order weeks ago for 7 bottles of wine. Parcel showed up only after chasing them twice. However one bottle was missing. Chased again, owner insured me that he was going to send it within a day. It didn’t happen. They will never call you, it’s up to you to chase. To the present moment, I haven’t received a refund for the missing bottle, nor the bottle. AVOID
