I would like to thank the staff at formula one Ipswich for the service they done on my volvo ,excellent correspondence and work done on my vehicle, they even noticed a screw in my rear tyre and repaired it for free . I'll definitely be going back again .thank you

I required a replacement tyre due to slow puncture at £57.90 including standard wheel balance.
I also booked Car Air Condition Cleaning at £19 where the technicians remove all the harmful bacteria that can build up within the air conditioning system, they circulate a special cleaner through all air intakes and venting systems and remove any unpleasant smells leaving your car interior smelling clean and fresh.
A free summer safety check.
A free wheel alignment check.
Check in was simple, collection brought its own surprises.
I arrived and was advised to have a complete a full wheel alignment - £40 extra - I declined and drove to my local garage that MOT and service my car to check.
When I got into my car my wheel nuts which used to be in a plastic snap box were left on the floor rolling around along with my service book, clearly to much trouble to replace.
The car air conditioning did not smell or feel any different - I called to raise my concerns and was asked to revisit.
When at my local garage the same day
they found the replaced tyre was over inflated and not inline with the PSI shown on the door and was much higher - they then ensured all tyre pressures where as they need to be - and also shared the wheel alignment was not required as minimal and is often a way of getting more money. When I retuned to investigate the air conditioning concern I was immediately told as I entered that it was likely my pollen filter would need changing - and guess what - at an additional charge - I declined. Have left feeling very much taken advantage of and disappointed, I have no issue paying for a service - but there was no evidence or feedback regarding the summer check - be wary please and get second opinions.
The Ipswich rating speaks for itself - very poor.

Booked in to have 2 front tyres changed, person I spoke to over the phone was helpful and got my tyres delivered to store within 24 hours. Had them changed and all seemed well. Two days later I had to travel down to London for work, on the way home on the M25 I heard a slight knocking start, luckily I was then coming off M25 and onto A505 near duxford, my car started making a juddering/vibration so I pulled over (I’ll be honest and say I didn’t know what I was looking for when I got out of the car to have a look) I got back in and tried to drive again, straight away I knew this was something I would need help with as it was juddering uncontrollably, again I pulled over and luckily I was with RAC who came out with in 40 minutes. I explained to the gent what was happening and he asked if I had recently had any tyres changed, I told him that I had the 2 front changed a few days ago. He said I’m hoping they just need tightening and I laughed thinking he was joking!! Unfortunately I was wrong, it was in fact that the person who had put the new tyres on a few days before had failed to do his job and my wheel nuts were all loose, in fact they were so loose that I had already lost one on the journey, RAC tightened them up and checked the other side which were also loose. RAC followed me 10 miles down the road to make sure that it was safe and that the nuts were holding due to not having all nuts on wheel. I asked the RAC what would of happened if I hadn’t of stopped, and he said had you of driven it another 5 miles he was 99% sure that the whole wheel would of fell off!!! Thankfully I was on a road I could pull over on as had this of happened 25 minutes before I would of been going 70 on the M25 with no where to stop!! Thankfully someone was looking out for me that day but it definitely wasn’t F1 auto centre as this could have been a life death situation. You have people’s lives in your hands, family’s travelling and the pure neglect of your worker could have been a different story for me. When I spoke to the area manager all he went on about was I can’t give you a refund but I’ll look into it and kept talking about not having a refund!! I don’t want a refund I want to make sure families that use your company are safe and that your workers are doing their job!!

I ordered and paid for 2 tyres for my Motorhome on line. On arrival for for my booking having already had a reminder e mail from them that morning I was told they don't do commercial vehicles even though the tyres were physically there right in front of me. How is it possible to advertise and sell tyres and accept a booking for something you are unable to fit? I wasted my time and did a 40 mile round trip for nothing.

Booked in to have all 4 tyres changed. Been getting a TPMS warning on my car due to batteries dying I assume so thought best get them done at same time as they would be taking all tyres off anyway. Rung them up the day before and asked if I provided the sensors (aftermarket but quality known brand Schrader) would they be able to fit them to which I was told it should not be problem. Purchased the sensors and turned up on the day (Ipswich branch) and was flat out told they won’t change them. I advised I called the day before to confirm and they said the person on the phone shouldn’t have said that as they would only work with direct from Ford parts. I then said that an internet search would show the brand I bought are used by Ford to which they said to not believe anything Google says which is a ridiculous statement in itself. Basically told me they won’t do it and said to get a refund on the tyres if I wasn’t happy with that. I needed the tyres done that day due to a long drive the next day so had no choice in staying. Was there almost 2 hours to change 4 tyres and now have to find a different garage to take them all off again just to fit 4 clip in sensors which will cost more and take more time out of my day. Wasn’t the best experience and still can’t see the issue in just fitting them even if I had to just get them programmed elsewhere.

Took my car to the Ipswich branch for an MOT. They changed the lightbulb in my headlight as it wasn’t working. Apparently the lightbulb wasn’t working still so they failed my MOT. Turns out they just didint plug my headlight in properly. When I came back and complained staff were very rude and denied any fault. Will not be returning ever again.

I had new tyres fitted and a wheel alignment done at F1 Autocentres Ipswich. Before the alignment, my car was fine and the tyres were not wearing on the inside.

After the alignment, I immediately noticed that the steering wheel was crooked. I went back the next day and they adjusted it again. It was slightly better, but still not straight.

Three months later, I discovered that my tyres were severely worn on the inside. The wear was so bad that I had to replace them because the car would not pass the MOT. I told them that the previous alignment was done incorrectly and that this is what caused the excessive tyre wear. Instead of taking responsibility, they wanted to charge me again and refused to redo the alignment properly.

I do not recommend getting your wheel alignment done here. Very unprofessional and disappointing service.

The Ipswich depot really isn't what it used to be. Of the last 5 tyres fitted I've had to have 2 reseated and then on the last visit they had no one to fit the tyres even though I had pre booked. They seem to be more interested in selling you extras than doing the basics.

Cliched to say, I know, but I would choose no stars if it was at all possible for this company. I paid what I thought was a reasonable price at the time for a full service of £164, only to be told that a car I had only purchased a few months earlier, required £1500 worth of work - brake callipers, pads, discs, filters etc. I kind of just accepted that I know nothing about cars and therefore the work probably needed doing - probably helped by saying they would give me a friendly discount down to £1350. Subsequently, have spoken to friends and colleagues about Formula 1 who had similar horror stories and said to avoid them. Horrendous customer service when I called back to query the payment plan I had set up with them for it too, with the best bit them telling me the original service price was not included on my invoice but the upselling was - couldn't believe my ears when I heard it described as this. Won't be returning and will be lodging a formal complaint with their head office.

Ipswich Branch were excellent despite me being late for my service and being very short staffed. They pulled the stops out to sort the car that day. Very grateful and appreciate their help!
