Beware!

The worse system for returning items. If you receive an item and you simply don't like it, if you receive an item and it's defective, any reason you have for returning an item. You have to pay your own returns! It gets deducted from your return money and they will not waive it even when you email them, they ask you to take pictures and all kinds of things and they still won't waive the return fee.To simply put it,  you pay your own returns and or take it to the nearest store even if it's 1 hour away from your house. Horrible customer service and the clothes is now very thin and made with defects. If you try on the pants and something is off, they turn everywhere and not fitting right in places, how do you take a picture of that? It's a horrible way of doing business online, clothes is complicated and there are many reasons why someone will try them and simply, they fit or feel wrong. Very, very disappointing, I know you are trying to make the buyer not return the item for your greed, but it's not a good way of doing business. Customers might not always be right, but they are the ones that make your business fail or keep on succeeding.

Horrible customer service

I made several purchases online. Some of my emails showed a invoice on what products I ordered, how I paid, and what amount I paid. There was one order where I did not receive this email and have asked 3 people now to send me proof of payment, as it was a business expense. The first and second person told me the only 'proof of payment' I would be receiving is a confirmation email. When I reached out a third time they told me an email had already been sent to me, which it had not. All I needed was proof that I paid for items from this company with my business card.

Can't buy anything

I am not sure how you can do business in the 21st Century and not have a website that functions properly. I tried to buy mens jeans, and none of the links brought up a selection of any sort. I thought it might be me, but my daughter said she had problems with the site as well. Please fix the site. Thanks!

Shop in store, not online.

I never have any complaints when I shop in the stores. I love their clothing and the staff is usually helpful and friendly. I haven’t had the same experience when shopping on their website. I recently placed an order and put all of the correct info in before signing into my account to get the shopper points for my purchase. After I was asked to sign in, everything referred to my old information, not realizing this, I placed the order and realized I needed to call to make the corrections to the billing and shipping info. She could not cancel the order or make corrections because it was already in process. Now I have to call the courier once it’s shipped so they can intercept the package. Then, I have had ongoing issues with their website and getting my password reset, I asked her if she could send a link since the “forgot password” function never seemed to do anything, I would never get a link. She said I should clear my cache and cookies, otherwise I’ll have to wait 5-7 business days for IT to manually send me a link. I let her know I didn’t mind waiting because nothing has worked so far. She said she sent a request, but just generally didn’t seem like she wanted to help. Who knows if she actually sent to request to IT.
Again, I will continue to buy from the stores but it’s definitely more of a headache if you have to order online and make any corrections or changes.

Express had a one day sale online only

Express had a one day sale online only. When i placed my order there was technical difficulties on their site that would not allow me to check out. They blamed it on paypal, so i directly contacted paypal and they said they were having no issues. I called and explained this to the manager and they told me they could never adjust a price on a prior sale even though it was their fault. It was a signficant difference in price so i will not be shopping there anymore.

Express used to be my favorite

The last time I made a payment I was $2 short. I caught it, and paid it, but apparently did so late. Thinking I paid off my card, I ignored my subsequent statement available emails. Turns out, I was being charged $10 late fees, 1st on the $2 late payment, then on the late fee, so I ended up with a $23 charge. I tried to make a purchase today and couldn't because my credit card had been shut off because I had the $23 payment pending. I found this out when I called Customer Service. I have spent thousands of dollars at Express over the years, and what they came back with was "well, we'll give you $10 back". Seriously....billion $ retailer? You're going play that bull$#!% game with me? I could care less about the $10...it's the principle.

Guess what Free People and Anthropologie? My thousands of dollars I would have spent with Express going forward will now be yours! Bye Express! Keep treating good customers like this and see what happens. There are plenty of other great places to shop.

I VISITED EXPRESS AT THE PARKS MALL IN ARLINGTON TEXAS AND THE SALES ASSOCIATE NAMED MARCUS HAS ONCE AGAIN WON ME OVER WITH HIS PROFESSIONALISM, TOP NOTCH CUSTOMER SERVICE AND OVER-ALL GREAT PEOPLE PERSONALITY! THIS YOUNG MAN REALLY MAKES ME LOOK FORWARD TO SHOPPING AT EXPRESS. PLEASE, SOMEONE FROM EXPRESS SHOULD REALLY COMMEND THIS YOUNG MAN AND RETAIN HIM AS HE IS DEFINITELY A VALUABLE COMMODITY. HE IS ALWAYS ALWAYS ASSISTING WITH A SMILE!

So irritated placed an order 8/8/21 still haven’t received. Called customer service after two weeks order had not even been shipped. Offered to send express only to find out shipped standard! What a joke! Will not order again!

I work for a call center and this has to be the worse service I’ve ever received . First, I paid for express shipping and they sent my order via standard shipping, which I need to go to an event this upcoming weekend. They only offered to refund the difference of shipping, which by the way as a customer was not what I wanted to hear, When customers call where I work, I listen, understand, and find the best solutions I can give to offer great customer service and resolutions. But that’s not what Charlene presented she lacked communication and options to find a solution.

Most reviews seem like customer service issues. Their products are actually great.

I've ordered from Express about six times in four months. All of them are online orders because I struggle finding clothes available in my size in the stores.

Their products are actually really good. I switched from American Eagle to Express after liking the variety, sizing, designs, and deals. Their clothes have several different types of fabrics. Some are more breathable than others. They can be a little expensive to order from, but they do carry out good deals all the time. The best deal that they have is their additional discounted clearance sales. I bought $700 worth of clothes for only ~$200.

Their fabrics don't really fade easily, like the custom printed shirts from RedBubble. Their designs are actually sewn into the fabric, so it will take a lot of wear-and-tear to actually notice a difference in the colors. Their jeans are more comfortable than AE because they have additional stretch. I wore $130 jeans in the past and Express matches that level of comfort and fabric type. They had a 2-pair for $99 deal, which is quite a lot, but these are very high quality and I could almost fall asleep with them on.

Finally, their shipping times are very quick. Handling takes more time to ship, but when they send out the order (usually 2-3 days later), I occasionally see the order arriving the next day after receiving the email. On one occasion, the shipment email arrived late, but it just meant that the package was in transit and I wasn't hovering over the tracking number, waiting for it.

The reason why I took off one star is (like most other reviews) the customer service can be a hit or miss sometimes. I had to contact them twice. Both times were to get Express Insider points fixed because I was missing some points, but both agents were apologetic and I had no issue talking to them. They offer live chat, but the feature must've been removed from their site because the button does nothing when you click on it.

SCAM SCAM SCAM

If there was a zero rating I’d give minus zero. I ordered from them months ago so I can give my daughter a present for her results day. I’ve been chasing them up for months an they finally got back to me said I’d receive my order an another month has gone by. I’ve emailed them again an no response. SCAM SCAM SCAM beware. You’ll lose your money but the point is I didn’t get to surprise my daughter today with her present. Awful site. Will never recommend this site.

Stuff fits great, friendly staff

I buy in the mail and in person at Express shops nationally. Their clothing is simple elegance if you style it right. Everything arrives when it should. No problems from express.com or in person. I recommend going to a shop located in a larger city to find more inventory because some of the stores outside of NYC only carry 2-3 items per size. I live in Express denim! You can make Express clothes look like really expensive clothes if you watch for getting the perfect fit. Some people who dislike Express I find out don't know how to wear clothes and go for too tight of outfits. When you are mindful of your real dress size and clothing for your body type, it's more affordable clothing that skims over you beautifully.

DO NOT ORDER FROM THIS COMPANY!

Paid and placed order on 04/06/21, not received my order and they have ignored every message via email I have sent, looking at other reviews they are clearly an awful company and have no concept of customer service. All I can say is, Avoid!! They are a scam!!! I am so gutted at not having checked the company before ordering!

Fraud company

Horrible company. I paid for products and never got a shipping confirmation, I don’t know if I’ll ever get my items in the mail. No one to call and talk to, and they don’t reply to emails. STAY AWAY FROM THIS WEBSITE

AVOID! !

Paid and placed order on 04/06/21, not received my order and they have ignored every message via iMessage business chat and email I have sent, looking at other reviews they are clearly an awful company and have no concept of customer service. All I can say is, Avoid!! Have opened a case with my bank.
