Recently I hired a Tesla Model 3 for 24 hours because my 13 year old son wanted to do it for his birthday treat.
I found the booking process trouble free once I picked up the phone. The staff were very helpful. Niamh did a great job showing me how to use the car when I picked it up at Durham and found me a secure place to keep my own car. Again, when we dropped off it was all straightforward and a pleasant experience.
The car was great to drive and the kids loved the gadgets.
I did have some reservations about paying a £500 deposit up front, but I've got that back now and I suppose it's not unreasonable given the value of the car.
As someone else has mentioned, I would have appreciated a bit more detail in advance on exactly what I was hiring, or what the options were for that location. I think that's what's not so clear online, you have to quiz the staff a bit, but we were very happy with what we got in any case.
The insurances and additional driver fee all added up to make a fairly expensive hire but it was worth it for a special occasion and we got what we paid for; a bit of fun and excitement. Thank you EVision!

Great service & choice of cars
Really good experience hiring from the Kent branch, from the initial phone call, through booking, collection & return of the car.
I was hiring at very short notice, but the team were super helpful, got everything arranged quickly and had the paperwork all ready when I arrived to collect. Only took 10-15 mins to get me into the car and away.
Car itself was fantastic - Polestar 2 in spotless condition - and the process of checking it back in again at the end of the hire was quick & straightforward.
Really impressed with the customer service and I'm sure I'll be using EVision again.

Great service and vehicles, could be a bit more flexible on milage
I have used Evision to hire electric vans twice in the last month to move my two sons to/from University in London. They were the only place I could find in Yorkshire where I could hire an electric van, I didn't want to do a round trip of 400+ miles in a petrol or diesel. The vehicles were great, a pleasure to drive even on these long journeys (one trip from London to Yorkshire was 7 hours!) and the service was excellent. I've deducted a star due to the cost, the vehicles are more expensive to hire and insure than a standard van, which I was happy to pay, but I don't understand why I then have to pay an additional cost for every mile over 150/day. Both my hires exceeded this and I knew they would at the point of hire but why is this?

A good service overall
A good service overall. Note that the price does not include insurance and VAT. Other car hire companies like Avis or Sixt would quote you the final price.
Insurance is £25/day with EVision, but it's much cheaper if you can find your own. If you're handling your own insurance, arrange it a few days before your car hire starts. This is because the car you're allocated will likely change. If you take out insurance too soon, you may have to get it changed for the updated car.
Christian was unhelpful, but Della was able to handle our requirements quickly and effortlessly. I would switch to Della if you get stuck with Christian. Kate was cheerful and friendly and made collecting the car a breeze.
I'm a repeat customer and I will use Evision again.

Brilliant up to now
My hire hasn't started yet but I have to say the experience up to now has been excellent. Christian and Della have been so helpful and Della was very quick to respond when I inadvertently over paid on the damage deposit, this being returned the very next day. The prices are excellent for the vehicles on offer, like seriously excellent and I'm sure that the collection and drop of experiences are equally so. Very excited to pick up the Model S and will look to update this after the hire.

I found the rental team at eVision to be very helpful
I found the rental team at eVision to be extremely responsive to all my questions . I hired a Jaguar i-Pace for a couple days from them and was delighted by the vehicle and arrangements for drop off and collection . Would definitely recommend if you are looking to hire an electric vehicle for any occasion .

Really enjoyed our Tesla model S experience
We rented a Tesla model S for our summer holidays. Overall it was a very positive experience, dealing with this very pleasant and attentive people. We took the collection and delivery service, which allowed us to easily load everything in front of our doorstep in London and drive away. The only thing that I found more challenging was the request to pay for the whole rental upfront by electronic transfer. I was more accustomed to securing the rental with a credit card. Upon making a few checks I felt comfortable sending the money.

I needed to travel 75 miles to pick up a Model S
Della has been very helpful in advising me on which models were available but to get the car I wanted, and not a car which is 7 years old I have to drive 75 miles each way, which uses up all of my free miles just to get home. Not great.
The business should be prepared to move cars to where a customer wants to pick it up. Insurance is a further £42 on top of what isn’t a cheap car.

We are in the peak of our busy season so we are sorry that we did not have the specific car available at your chosen location. Please be aware that we are in the process of updating our fleet and replacing our older models. We do advise customers to contact us in advance if they would like to pick up an EV from any of our other locations to ensure the car is available first.
With regards to your feedback to our pick up locations, we do try to cater to our customer's requirements, and we would be more than happy to arrange for a car to be delivered to another location for a long term rental, however sometimes this is not possible if it is just for a one day hire unfortunately. In this instance, we have offered you a free upgrade instead.
In relation to the insurance, it is clearly stated on our website that our prices are exclusively for car hire only, and that there is an option to add on our EVision insurance which is at an additional cost, or customer's can choose to provide their own fully comprehensive insurance instead.
We are sorry to hear that you were disappointed with some aspects of the booking process, however we do hope you enjoy your upcoming hire with us.

Mainly OK, although several wrinkles
The headline is that EVRent were OK. They showed up on time and the car was in good condition (and Teslas are wonderful cars). Paperwork was a bit tedious, but I guess that's par for the course these days. However, there were several wrinkles: (1) I specifically asked for the car to be delivered full since we had a long trip ahead. It wasn't (although they did have a 13A capable charger, so we could charge it overnight). (2) A previous renter had set a PIN for Valet mode which hadn't been reset. We ended up in the situation of having enabled Valet mode by mistake and not being able to get out of it. It took two calls to EVRent support and over 30 minutes to sort it out, during which time the car couldn't accelerate properly. (3) Relatively small scratches on a wheel were billed at close to £300. Yes, I scraped a kerb - but it didn't feel like £300 worth of damage to me. (4) They refused to allow us access to the Tesla phone app, meaning that I wasn't able to evaluate that aspect of the car. So adequate overall, but... (On the plus side, I should mention that they didn't charge us for being 30 minutes late returning the car, partly because of the valet parking problem).

Firstly, we are very sorry to hear the car was not delivered fully charged. We aim to deliver the cars with as much charge as possible, giving into account travel & whether there is a charging station nearby to you that is not already occupied. Your feedback has been passed over to the General Manager to look into further.
In relation to paperwork, we must ensure that both us as a company and you as a customer are covered in all aspects, some of the paperwork is legal and other parts of it are company policy. We have streamlined as much of the paperwork as possible.
We are sorry to hear that you experienced issues with valet mode, it is unusual for a customer to find themselves in valet mode, however most definitely not impossible, we are sorry that this was not dealt with immediately for you. Speaking with colleagues our side, the Service Manager and other Operations team members were dealing with other customers at the time, which is why there was a slight delay, however as soon as they were able to they assisted you straight away.
With regards to Tesla alloys, these are very expensive and the cost of repairing them means a staff members time taking the car to a specialist alloy repair workshop, in addition the vehicle is out of action meaning we lose money as a business in that this car cannot go out on hire.
The Tesla phone app for EVision as a company has all of the Tesla cars we have on fleet listed on it. Someone with access to the Tesla phone app also will be able to control the car post hire. For the reason of spending time changing passwords constantly etc, we cannot unfortunately provide this feature due to security issues.
We are sorry to hear that some aspects of your rental did not quite live up to expectations but hope overall the experience was enjoyed.

Tesla rental
Rented a Tesla X for two days for a bit of family fun. Rental admin all done (and there was lots) online prior to the booking so nothing to do on pick up which was good. Had to deposit £500 into their account which worried me but its to cover excesses and is now being returned. Car itself was a real success, kids loved the falcon doors and the dance mode, parents loved the drive and the acceleration which were amazing. All good fun as Covid stopped us going abroad.
