I would give 0 stars

I would give 0 stars, but forced for 1. I opened an account for my son to take skating lessons at Ice Sheffield reception desk. Gave the lady all the details to open an account and set direct debit. All set, all good. Now....my son has surgery at the end of May and I needed the month of June frozen from paying for his recovery. Guess what !!! You have to beg online, provide proof, website not working, incorect number entered...etc. I am the paying customer, not an employee to prove things to the company, and not even then, it is up to you to if you want to disclose private medical information. Call center closed the phone on me, and would not answer after. You took my money in reception, reception should sort out the issue. You only know how to take, but i am not telling you anything new. And NO, i cannot do it online, I am ignorant on this, i need a human beeing from your end to sort it. If you cannot do it, i will contact the Ombudsman and try to get my money back from you

Lovely gym

I enjoy my gym sessions. A good variety of machines and equipment. The staff are very friendly and professional.

Lacking management when things go wrong

Booked online for the water park on the 3rd May before leaving the house. We were informed on attendance there was an ongoing issue with water levels in the pool and to wait in the cafe for an announcement over the loudspeaker. It was clear after 15/20 minutes the pool was never going to refill within our booking time. Queued at the front desk for a further update, was told a Manager should have been in the cafe informing customers it would be several hours - there was no Manager present. Left our booking number for a refund/return.
Chased Moorways further to the visit and received a generic email on the 11th May with a free return visit code.
Due to the poor way the incident was handled- no suspension of the online booking system (which would have saved us a trip) no attempt at all at any proactive communication with customers and over a week to issue follow up communication I’ve requested a full refund. A working week later and no response at all.
Really disappointed by this centre and would think twice before booking again.

Dreadful, filthy, unsafe environment.

Everyone Active is a terrible company and seems not to care about health and safety in the slightest. They also don't serve their customers online effectively even though they want to force everyone to go online to get information. The website is appalling; whoever created it was clearly not a professional developer. The information provided online is disorganised and also inadequate.

I am really unhappy about the communal changing rooms for the pool. I get men staring at me which makes me feel really uncomfortable. This is such a safety risk for young girls to be put into the same space as older men - Everyone Active what were you thinking? Clearly the changing rooms were designed by a man.

The pool is filthy. The changing rooms are disgusting. The loos are in an appalling state. Don't get me started on the disabled loo.

I am waiting on the phone to talk to the centre about a booking and have been waiting for well over 30 minutes. I do not believe that this is because there are customers online as I'm calling quite late but well within opening hours I think that Everyone Active just doesn't care about serving customers and wants to force everyone to use their chaotic, difficult to navigate website (which I just tried to but couldn't find the information I needed).

Generally it's a dreadful leisure centre. The only saving grace is the staff on reception who are lovely. If there was another leisure centre locally I'd use it for this one is awful.

I am writing to formally raise a complaint regarding an upsetting experience I had this morning at the Everyone Active gym located under the Westway in Ladbroke Grove.

Upon entering the building, I attempted to check in using the QR code system. I have previously experienced issues with the QR code displayed on the wall, so I used the QR code placed on the top reception desk, which I know works correctly.

At the reception area, there were three women standing and speaking with the receptionist. I waited patiently and politely asked the women, “Can you move to the side please so I can scan the code?” I was addressing the women directly, not the receptionist. The receptionist then responded to me in a dismissive tone, saying, “I’m dealing with them.”

I found this response unnecessary and disrespectful, particularly as I had clearly waited patiently and had not interrupted or rushed anyone. Once the women moved away, I approached the desk to scan in and calmly expressed to the receptionist that I did not appreciate the tone in which she had spoken to me and that I felt it was rude. Her reaction appeared dismissive and unapologetic.

As I walked away toward the locker room, the same three women stopped me and commented that I had handled the situation very well and agreed that the receptionist’s tone had been unpleasant. This confirmed that my feelings about the interaction were not unreasonable.

Later, while in the gym, I spoke with other members and learned that this receptionist has reportedly behaved rudely toward other people as well. Concerned by this, I approached a member of staff and asked to speak with the manager. I explained the situation and was told it would be reported to senior management immediately.

However, when I later left the gym, I saw the manager standing at the reception desk with the receptionist, yet no apology was offered to me and no effort was made to acknowledge or resolve the situation professionally.

This experience has genuinely concerned me. I run a women’s nonprofit organisation supporting women who have experienced trauma, and some of my clients attend this gym. If I, as an adult woman, leave feeling uncomfortable and disrespected, I worry about how vulnerable women or clients with past trauma may feel in the same environment.

I believe all members deserve to be spoken to respectfully and professionally, especially in a community space that should feel safe and welcoming to everyone.

I would appreciate this matter being properly looked into, and I would welcome a response regarding how this complaint will be addressed moving forward.

My experience of classes

I usually only do classes, n my favourite is the zumba. Vera makes it both challenging and fun. Music is pumping n she makes sure everyone participates by modifying moves to suit ability.

Disgusting gym

Disgusting gym, sauna is revolting riddled with black mould and the wood is rotting as it’s obviously untreated and the wrong type installed

Everything is so dirty and disgusting

Gym equipment awful falling apart

Gym etiquette non existent weights littered everywhere hazard for elderly members staff don’t care

Needs knocking down and starting again worst gym in the UK without a doubt and I’ve been to a fair few across the country but this one takes the biscuit.

Moulton gym is scummy and never clean the water stations are disgusting if I could upload pictures I would. The pool was out of order for about 6 months they gave my wife a discount of £10 per month but wouldn't apply the same discount to my membership because I hadn't used the pool for the last two weeks! Absolutely disgrace! I had to pay for facilities not available! Shame could be a superb gym but run by pure idiots if you complain to reception staff about no cleaning wipes in the gym or toilet roll in the loos you basically get told it's not our job! We pay membership we do not pay individual amounts for each department! Own it and sort it! It's a shambles and you get shund if you dare to complain! Come on everyone active/ castle view ventures take some ownership. There are two changing unisex rooms for for the spa and a third disabled with a impolite note on it telling us to respect the needs of disabled users! We all pay the same so should be allowed to use all three changing rooms equality! Sort it out and clean up your act or you will start to loose memberships. Not sure how they have managed to take over Trilogy gyms in Northampton.

get a 1 on 1 with Stephen if you have pain issues.

I was losing an 8 year battle with chronic pain , after Cancer, until i started having one on one exercising in the pool with Stephen. He has been amazing, he is helping me to rehab, to get the exercises just right , and he always lifts my mood. At £20 for half hour , it's worth every penny.

After a school trip skiing

After a school trip skiing, our grandson decided he would like to go to ski slope with a couple of mates, for his birthday. Rang to enquire, got helpful info.
Turned up as planned, in the rain🤪 but the boys were well looked after and thoroughly enjoyed the session.
Staff were very helpful, pleasant and proffesional.
I think we will def be returning!

Awful service but good pool

I've been going to the London Aquatics Centre for around 2 months. The reception staff don't know what they are doing, they managed to make mistakes on literally every interaction with them. The biggest one was that one day I booked a class with them, then on the day of the class they checked me in, then after changing and taking shower I learned that I was booked to a wrong class and had to go home: they booked an adult to a kid's class. Over the whole interaction they were really confusing with explaining what is going on; thankfully at some point a coach helped resolve the situation.

At the same time the pool itself is good and I had pleasant interactions with coaches, so I'm ranking this as 3 and not lower.

Only started this gym and honestly really enjoying it. The atmosphere is great, the equipment is always in good condition, and the staff are friendly and helpful. It’s clean, and has a good vibe.

Mixed Experience

I’ve been taking my 3-year-old son to swimming lessons at Everyday Active because it is convenient locally and I genuinely want the experience to work for us. There are positives, but there have also been a few recurring concerns that I feel are important to raise.

My son can sometimes be hesitant about getting into the pool, which is not unusual at his age and is part of the reason we attend lessons in the first place to benefit from the patience, experience, and encouragement of trained instructors. During one lesson, I noticed he was quickly left behind while the rest of the children were given floatation aids and guided through the activity. I actually had to prompt the instructor to give him the same floaters as the others before she did so. In isolation this may seem minor, but when dealing with very young children at an important developmental stage, feeling included and supported matters a great deal.

I have also noticed what feels like a pattern of avoidance towards him, possibly because he struggled to engage during the first few lessons. I appreciate that teaching young children is challenging, especially if staffing is limited, but children who are initially hesitant often need more encouragement rather than less.

The second issue relates to pool access. Entry requires a membership card, yet for several weeks my card has consistently failed to work while other parents appear to enter without issue. Today I asked at reception whether this could be resolved and was told “next week.” When I politely asked whether it could be fixed today, the response felt dismissive, with the staff member indicating she was too busy despite only handling a couple of receipts at the desk (could have been more but that was what she said). The interaction itself was disappointing, but more concerning was how normal that level of dismissiveness appeared to be.

I will continue attending because my priority is helping my son become comfortable and confident in the water, and at present this remains the most practical option for us. However, if there were a comparable alternative nearby, I would seriously consider cancelling my subscription. I hope the centre takes feedback like this constructively, because the small interactions and attitudes can make a significant difference to parents and young children alike.
I also want to acknowledge that one of the teachers in his age group has been excellent with him. She takes time to focus on him individually, encourages him patiently, and makes a genuine effort to help him engage even when he is hesitant. That level of attention has made a noticeable difference and is exactly the kind of support young children need when building confidence in the water.

Just a quick update to recognise an obvious star (definitely deserves a whole five star on her own). Kathryn exemplified what customer services should look like. I witnessed her dealing with a long queue of customers on my recent visit and she dealt with everyone (including my case) patiently and professionally. It's worth mentioning especially in light of recent experience from other crew members.

£1.2m spent on a gym but zero on old courts

£1.2m spent on a gym refurbishment and not a penny on the squash courts. After earlier complaints the 2 (of 5) courts out of action were scheduled, we were told, for repair weeks ago. At club night on Wednesaday they still remained unusable. The playable courts are also in need of repair - no money has been spent on these courts for decades and yet there is an active squash group bringing between 10 and over 20 players every Wednesday

Proper crap

Proper crap. Just how difficult they made it to cancel your membership is ridiculous. For golf it’s the biggest waste of time, any other club would be better but how difficult it is to cancel or change your membership just wound me up the money grabbing sods.
