Evans Halshaw Horsforth great service. I cannot praise these guys highly enough! Booked an appointment to test drive a Range Rover, which they happily arranged for a bank holiday Monday. On the day met the salesman Kenneth who accompanied me on the test drive. Kenneth answered all questions, was super helpful, explained all the options with my part exchange & wasn’t overbearing or just trying to push through a sale. Kenneth guided me through all the paperwork & a colleague of Ken’s later thanked me for dealing with the electronic paperwork so quickly & efficiently! 4 days later collected the car & still a little amazed at how helpful all the staff on site were. Kenneth even phoned me today to check if everything was ok with the car & if I had any questions or concerns which hadn’t been addressed. This was not my first time buying a car, but it was far away the most straight forward & pleasant experience. These guys, especially Kenneth, are superstars & I would happily buy a car from them again. 5 stars!

Dear Evans Halshaw Horsforth Team,
I am writing to formally complain regarding the Porsche Macan GTS (2018 registration, approximately 70,000 miles) that I purchased from you on 28 April 2026 following a test drive that same day.
The vehicle was due to be delivered to me in Aston Cantlow on 1 May 2026. However, I was informed that the car developed a fault during delivery relating to an ABS sensor. I was subsequently advised that the issue had been repaired and that the vehicle was fully operational and in good working order before it was eventually delivered to me on 9 May 2026.
Unfortunately, within approximately one hour of driving the vehicle, multiple serious warning messages appeared on the dashboard, including:
ACC/PAS unavailable – service required
ABS/PSM failure – drive with caution
Parking brake fault
AWD fault – only rear-wheel drive
PSM failure – consult dealer
In addition, on several occasions the vehicle failed to respond when accelerating and entered limp mode, travelling at approximately 5mph. This is clearly a serious safety issue and wholly unacceptable.
I specifically chose to purchase this vehicle from Evans Halshaw for the reassurance and peace of mind associated with buying from a main dealer. Instead, I have received a vehicle that appears to have had an ongoing pre-existing fault before delivery and which is potentially unsafe to drive.
To make matters worse:
I was paying for the vehicle from the point of purchase despite not having possession of it for over a week while the initial fault was supposedly being rectified;
I have incurred finance costs under the finance agreement arranged through Evans Halshaw;
I have also paid for 12 months of insurance for a vehicle that is currently not fit for use.
Given the above, I do not consider the vehicle to be of satisfactory quality, fit for purpose, or as described under the Consumer Rights Act 2015.
I expect Evans Halshaw to resolve this matter immediately and entirely at zero cost to me, including:
Collection and return logistics;
Diagnostics and repairs;
Any specialist inspection required;
Any associated costs whatsoever.
I would be prepared for the vehicle to be inspected and repaired by Zuffenhaus, provided Evans Halshaw covers all costs in full.
However, if this matter is not resolved promptly and properly, or if the fault cannot be permanently rectified without inconvenience or cost to me, I will exercise my statutory right to reject the vehicle and seek a full refund, including reimbursement of associated losses.
Please also note that as the vehicle was purchased using finance arranged through Evans Halshaw, I reserve the right to raise this matter directly with the finance company, who may be jointly liable.
Please treat this as a formal complaint and confirm urgently:
Immediate arrangements for collection of the vehicle;
How Evans Halshaw intends to resolve the matter;
Confirmation that all costs will be covered by yourselves;
Confirmation of my options should I choose to reject the vehicle.

Once the person was back in the office on Monday this week the ball got rolling after which I booked my car in for a repair yesterday (Tuesday) which was much quicker than going to Evans Halshaw in Middlesbrough - even though it would have been much closer to home as the earliest they could fix it was late May!
I picked the car up today - Wednesday - and it was fixed.
Overall a mixed experience but I cannot fault their aftercare once they responded to me.

Great experience with using them for a full service of my corsa for the first time. They kept me in the loop with everything and were very efficient. The car was back with me in 3 hours ready to drive away. Definitely recommend.
