I went into a bus lane for a brief…
I went into a bus lane for a brief moment as i was turning left at some traffic lights... £130 fine came through the post which i immediately paid to get 50% discount.. I could appeal but you just know that your not going to get anywhere with these money grabbing scavengers.... This was on a Saturday & i thought the bus lane was Mon-Fri.... For a first breach you should just get a warning letter, they log this on their system & if you contravene again then you get fined.... But even at a time like this during a pandemic they only care about money NOT the impact on individuals mental health..... Absolutely disgusting !!
Ealing Council has zero interest in…
Ealing Council has zero interest in helping small businesses. I have been asking for a little support as food inspection because I need a “food rating” in order to trade and their answer is constantly: “Covid-19 is our priority, can’t help you”. So what’s their covid-19 priority? I’d like to know it! Their priority should be helping out businesses affected by covid-19!!! They always have excuses to justify their incompetence and lack of interest in problems affecting people living in the borough.
Business Grants Under Lockdown Still No Update
Ealing is awful when it comes to support the business and issue the eligible grants poor communication. Businesses who should be eligible for grants under the government’s discretionary grant scheme due to the fact they have had NO revenue since March 2020. Unlike other councils Ealing still has not outlined the criteria for grant applications or posted the web application form so much so not even any information.Business is shut from November but only paid out one grant and messed up the businesses badly to slow in processing .They have zero policy to help and support businesses and to be honest they don’t seems to be bothered
If you try and call the voicemail message says they are experiencing high levels of enquiries regarding this so use email as being in civil job everyone in council wants to know what is happening, or not happening and why? Yet another example of the total disorganisation in what must be the worst run council in London Borough .MP does not bother replying to emails extremely unhelpful
Discretionary Grants
Ealing is home to an enormous amount of event exhibition and wedding suppliers who should be eligible for grants under the government’s discretionary grant scheme due to the fact they have had NO revenue since March 2020. Unlike other councils Ealing still has not outlined the criteria for grant applications or posted the web application form. The voicemail message says they are experiencing high levels of enquiries regarding this - hardly surprising as everyone wants to know what is happening, or not happening and why? Yet another example of the total disorganisation in what must be the worst run council in London. Hate to say it but vote in a Labour Council and this is what you get!!!
I've got fixed penalty notice 150£ for…
I've got fixed penalty notice 150£ for litter dep cigarette wich i don't find it fair.
So basically i litter the cigarette next to the litter box because the ashtre inside is broken and if you throw the cigarette inside is going down to the bin where there is plastic bag and can cause fire, amd that litter exactly at acton High road bus stop opposite to Morison supermarket.
That litter was on fire several times because of dropping cigarettes inside it and has never been replaced with new one.
I've explained that exactly to the officer and he said yes we must replaced it but i still got the penalty wich is not fair at all and i don't find myself offender. I was aware of what i am doing and can't throw the cigarettes inside because it will cause fire damage at the bus stop where plenty of people standing there waiting for the buses.
On top of that i am jobless due the pandemic and i am barely surviving with my partner and 8 weeks baby at universal credit. So 150£ are affordable amount and can cause troubles in this moment.
I am not against the rules or the law we all must follow the rules and respect the law but sometimes is not our fault is council fault the litter must be replaced and to be suitable to drop the cigarette inside.
Ealing council targeting people on the street for money watch out and around you on the street usually you can find them hiding in the corners and watching who gonna give penalty you have right or not it doesn't matter because you can't appeal...so you all know now why you can't appeal 🤭
Trying to report missed refuse…
Trying to report missed refuse collection for yesterday. It has to be reported by 1pm the next day. The website will only let you go so far hence it can't be actioned. The office is closed until 9am Monday which means it is out of the timescale to report. This means another 2 week wait which will equate to collection once a month!
They Ignore All Communication
They have ignored every phone call, email, and letter I have sent them for an entire year. They simply don't answer the phone, usually hanging up after 30 minutes without every speaking to a person. The emails and letters are completely ignored, even if multiple are sent over and over again.
If you're thinking of moving to London, do NOT move into this council's area. You WILL NOT get an answer from them for anything. But, even if they don't acknowledge you, they will still send bills your way for the thing you are trying to contact them about.
Awful
Ridiculously hard to get through to anyone been trying to get a student council tax exemption for so long and it seems like the people at Ealing council just want to make it as hard as possible. Not helpful at all and can’t even answer the phones or give me an email address, a working web page or someone to bloody talk to it’s a complete joke.
Can barely walk Ealing streets because…
Can barely walk Ealing streets because of all the fallen leaves that are blocking the pavements, knee deep in places making it incredibly slippery and difficult to navigate with small children. I’ve reported the very worst of the streets, but no action as yet taken a good 4 weeks later. Residents are clearing the detritus themselves, which shows wonderful community spirit, but I didn’t notice that as a line item on my last council tax bill. On the plus side the mountain of leaves are hiding most of the waist-high weeds that blight all the pavements in this area.
As said by everyone here
As said by everyone here. Awful, they don’t care about residents on any matter, no matter what.
LTN is just the lastest in their stupid ideas. Has increased traffic and pollution, and killed people not being able to get to hospital in time in Ambulances.
Well done Ealing Council
useless incompetent council
For 3 months now since i moved in i have not had a rubbish wheelie bin. I have requested one several times and nothing has been done about it. Why do I even pay the council tax ?
Total Incompetence, Alive & Thriving within Ealing Council
Ealing a council in name only, we have truly gone back to the dark ages where corruption and nepotism rules.
The council may use covid as their defence but this incompetent service operated long before covid hit.
You cannot contact anyone for anything and complaints mean absolutely NOTHING to a council which has already left the building.
In the last year, I have made valid enquiries/complaints via their "Useless" website only receiving an acknowledgement email on each occasion. In fact, I would go so far as to say that, their services have been set up on purpose to deflect complaints or enquiries to purposely lead residents down blind ally's so as to avoid having to enact an action for ANYTHING.
Minus-star for Ealing Council's Planning Department
If only I could give Ealing Council's Planning Department a minus-star. Their attitude is arrogant, uncaring, negligent: they have made repeated glaring mistakes over the last 15 years regarding a particular property and could now actually rectify their failures. But no, they continue to cover up their neglect and blunders and, when any intelligent solution is offered to them, they close ranks and refuse to acknowledge their ineptitude. The door is shut in one's face when trying to get a proper response. The latest ridiculous response was "We're only reactive". So one has to wait until a further mess-up is made and then they will say (as they have done many times before ) - "Oh it's too late now". Ealing Planning Department is the pits and they should all be sacked.
You will never get to speak with anyone…
You will never get to speak with anyone within The Ealing Kremlin, everything has to be done via their very unfriendly website and/or email. Dreadful management who couldn't care less about what Council Taxpayers want and need because they are busy foisting some weirdo political Agenda on Residents. AVOID, DO NOT MOVE HERE. You will probably regret it.
Website NOT fit for purpose
Website NOT fit for purpose. Telephone contact takes up to 45 mins + to get through to a council employee. Some are courteous and respectful but others are rude and unprofessional resorting to standard answers refer to the website Madam ! Which doesn't work !! No acknowledgement of their failings. No evidence of acknowledgement of enquiries made save a ? random reference number which is automatically deleted so they can claim job dealt with?! NO consideration for individuals who have NO internet/internet connection not working. NO acknowledgement of elderly people disabled people or special needs.
Discrace of a local authority who is answerable to their council tax payers yet does NOT bother to hold themselves accountable for all the ramifications of their failings to Ealing borough.
This is evidenced by a lack of communication by post/email. No paper trail therefore no problem !!
This is a council who runs roughshod over residents wishes. I urge Ealing residents to pass on concerns to their constituent MPs and keep reiterating those issues.
MPs do not have ?internal telephone number access so wait as we do on landline numbers supplied. Presumably their emails also go unanswered. This is NOT progress and highlights their inefficiency and lack of concern regarding their Ealing residents.
Why do they keep banging their own drum regarding their achievements. They make minimum effort and tend to blame the lowest paid council employees.
This council is shambolic & creates chaos at residents expense. The lack of response to this website is self evident. NOT a single response from ANYONE at the council. Therefore their is NO problem. Shameful representation of Labour party by representatives voted in by residents who believe in the integrity of the ethos of the Labour party. Time will tell if the high court writ issued to Julian Bell/Ealing council over the temporary parking/road closures scheme will glean some answers.
NO consultations were held with residents affected or the Fire brigade & London ambulance service.
Had to award one star as there is no facility to award less.
Ealing Council bad service and support
Not one at Ealing Council seems to know what is going on. Have been chasing a new food bin (as both the handle have been broken and front smashed in during collection process) since the 21st September 2020, which didnt even get logged as their phone logging system doesnt work, by their own admission. Then when they actually escalate and log the replacement I need and advise me a day to call back if replacement hasnt arrived (it didnt) they still advise me I need to wait longer and that the original advice I received from them was now wrong. I have been waiting now for nearly a month for a simple food bin replacement.
Customer service and attitude experienced was also exceptionally poor.
Service from bad to worse
Service is always poor but now it is does not exist. No one is answering the phone, you are left waiting and then cut off. All the messages point you to the website but several of the forms have bugs so this is not usable. I reported the website issue but get no response from the email given for support.
One thing they are very good at is sending out the council tax bill. But if you have a problem with it you are totally stuck with the treat of legal action looming. I suspect even a visit or using post will not work as they are all supposedly working from home.
Insufferably bad
Insufferably bad. Made many payments and all up to date, yet they still chase you with threatening letters as if they haven't received payment. Then you have to contact them to get them to fix their problems, yet they never answer the phone and never get back to you. So in effect, the council is just a money grabbing waste of space that doesn't provide any service whatsoever... we need a modern day Robin Hood to get rid of this thieving organization.
Blue bin delivery
Hi.
First time my wife call you on16. 07.2020
To get blue bin. Ref N999820
After couple weeks I call you on 10.09.2020 same case Ref N1012183
Today is 30.09.2020 and we still have not received bin. I think this is shame. Two and a half months
Incompetence beyond belief
Hard pushed to find the perfect word to describe Ealing Council with regard to at least 2 issues. I'll deal with the most ridiculous of these, first.
During the quieter days of lockdown, someone on the council had an amazing plan to free up the residential streets around West Ealing by blocking off many roads in the area. Clearly, no tests were carried out to work out where the traffic was going to go. Now we have a gridlocked Uxbridge road through Hanwell and West Ealing, not only raising pollution levels but causing additional danger to cyclists and other road users.
People are extremely wary of using any form of public transport whilst the pandemic continues, aside from the fact that capacity on buses has been hugely reduced. This irresponsible and no notice was given.
Add to this the sudden change to all bus lanes so that they operate all hours. Far fewer people on buses yet whole bus lanes given over to these virtually empty, cumbersome vehicles.
Second point is regarding Christmas tree collection.
Just after Christmas I called for the collection of a number of our trees and it didn't happen. Then, my 5th call, which was now early Feb, I was told it was too late, now.
Seriously? The council inability to provide a service then becomes my problem.
This council is incapable of making intelligent decisions and they are in charge of deciding the spending of my council tax.
If they were a business, they would have long-since gone under.
