I am from Chesapeake,VA & I went to drive time in my area and I must say. This was absolutely the best car buying experience I’ve ever had in my life. I applied online & instantly they showed me down payment options & payments. I didn’t think it was true to fit me specifically but it was because when I got to the dealership the numbers were exactly the same. Antonio Davenport was our salesman but he was more like an old friend. He was not pushy. He did not try to pressure me. He did not try to just put me in anything. He said these cars match your down payment & car payment. Drove them to the front. I test drove everyone. He allowed us to drive alone which is nice because you can truly look at the car. It was just such a phenomenal experience. We got there at 2:30 & was out the door with a car I absolutely love by 4:30. It was almost too good to be true honestly. We left feeling like we just bought a car from a friend. Drive time really delivers what they promise on the commercials. You truly do pick your own terms. I’m extremely happy because that morning I was honestly thinking I would not find anything. Car shopping can be stressful but if you want to have a phenomenal car buying experience. "On May 23 I bought a 2019 Kia Sorento from DriveTime Chesapeake. On the way home, about an hour from the dealer, the check engine light came on. I called DriveTime and was told to contact SilverRock Warranty when they opened Monday. On May 22nd, SilverRock told me to take it to a repair shop. Earliest appointment was May 25th. Inspection found the oil needed changing. Blower motor and serpentine belt needed replacement, sludge on the dipstick. That shop couldn't do diagnostics, so I was sent elsewhere. After more delays, repairs were done June 17th. But then I was told it needed to go to yet another repair shop. That next shop couldn't see my vehicle until June 22nd. SilverRock first tried to say my warranty expired, but I had a reference number from before, so they honored it. On July 3rd, the repair shop told me to take it to a Kia dealership, saying it looked like a manufacturer issue. On July 6, I called SilverRock for guidance and followed their instructions. The Kia dealership eventually found a failed catalytic converter and bad O2 sensor. They also said the vehicle should never have been sold in that condition. They found heavy rust underneath, so they can't replace the converter or O2 sensor because the exhaust system can't be safely removed. Now, DriveTime and SilverRock are refusing to cover the repairs. I'm facing about $13,000 in repair costs on top of a $20,000 loan. I spoke with a DriveTime rep Monday and was told I missed a 5-day return window, but I was never told about that policy. If I'd known, I would have returned it the same day that the check engine light came on. In my opinion, constant referrals from one repair shop to another delayed things until the warranty period ran out. If you're thinking about buying from DriveTime Chesapeake, please have the car thoroughly inspected. I was told it was sold as is, but there was no 'as is' sign on the vehicle

When I walked into Drivetime I was welcomed with warm smiles from Robert and another staff, I didn’t get their name. Robert then introduced me to Eric who was superrrrrr helpful with purchasing my SUV. I love being apart of the drivetime family as this is my 2nd car I have from them !

I purchased a car from here a little over 30 days ago. The car gave me problems ever since I got it. My sales person Antonio did not respond to me at all and now the car is in the shop and they are telling me I need to figure it out. This is ridiculous. I am calling a lawyer because it is a shame that they only care about selling a car and not even a good car at that and taking advantage of people that come to get help from them. They should be ashamed of themselves. The fact that I am a single mother that needed help to make sure I had reliable transportation they can't even help or respond for the crap they sold me. At least take responsibility of the crap and make me feel helped or like I made a right choice to work with you guys. Now again car not working and crickets from everyone. This is not the right way to do business!!!!!!!!!!

So the Chesapeake location sold me a 2014 Buick Lacrosse leather on 4/25/2025. Nice car until three days later, 4/28/2025, the vehicle could not be driven. Haven’t even made my first payment yet and it’s currently in a shop with transmission issues. I have a warranty but why am dishing out money for a rental car before I even make my first payment on my own vehicle?
