I am sorry to write this review as we were recommended to them, the install guy was very nice when came to visit, BUT!! when it came to the install. he had other jobs that were more important and then the job wasn't what he quoted for. then!! h he wanted £1K to be paid before he continued with the job! the stove was installed and the tiling did not match each side and one was 300 mm then the other 235mm the hearth doesn't sit even and his attitude is sooooo bad!!! when we spoke to Direct Stoves we were impressed with their reactions. and we had a visit and the person said he can see our issue and he would get one of the directors to contact me. it took three calls to chase them and then he called me when i was in a customer, i called back and no reply - my mobile may of been blocked! maybe worth spending money with someone that cares and doesn't have fitters that want there money and go. Promise thinks and don't receive. soo sad to have such bad service in time when i am willing to give a generous gift as a thank you for quality service. BAD REFLECTION ON THE COMPANY. Don't get Mark to fit your Stove!!!

I’d like to respond to this but it’s so far from the reality I’ll just apologise that you feel it necessary to leave a a one star review for a company that has bent over backwards for you and an installer who did free work for you and continually had to chase you to be paid with countless broken promises that he would be.

Also, I called you back several times. Managed to speak to you but you said you’d call me back. Since then we’ve never heard back from you and we don’t block numbers.

Great service

Bought a Broseley electric fire from Direct Stoves in November 2021 and was really happy with the service and product. So when I needed to buy a new Hunter Herald 8 multi fuel stove I decided to buy from them again, which I did. Then I then found it a lot cheaper elsewhere on line so decided to contact DS about the price difference. Spoke to Lucy, who was very helpful and polite, who refunded me most of the difference. Very happy with the service and will continue to use Direct Stoves in the future. Would recommend to anyone.

Easy to negotiate the website and find…

Easy to negotiate the website and find what I wanted.
The member of staff (Lucy) was super-helpful and friendly. She helped me match stove with the right fitting kit and showed me how to find a local installer.
A positive experience. The only criticism was that the flue order started £104 cheaper and then added £104 once I chose the (standard) diameter.

Go elsewhere
No customer service whatsoever, have contacted them several times trying to buy a stove and usually a very pleasant girl answers who openly admits not working there very long with little knowledge on products. She politely takes your details and says she will get someone to call you back then they never do. Trying to spend thousands of pounds with them and they obviously don't want our money.... Very disappointing.
Now buying the same products from stovesareus who are very helpful, call me back and do want our money

I’m very sorry we didn’t get back to you as quickly as you’d expect us to and as quickly as we would like to and normally would. I know the sales person you spoke to was trying to get your quote done and get back to you today but didn’t manage to quick enough.

Unfortunately at the moment as many other companies are we’re short staffed. Normally there are 4 in sales and 5 is dispatch/customer service. But due to people being off/isolating we’re down to 2 in sales and 3 in dispatch/customer service so it’s been a difficult week managing our workload and I apologise if you feel we let you down but it’s certainly not our normal level of service.

Very pleased with my transaction with…

Very pleased with my transaction with Direct Stoves. Slight delay on delivery which they advised was due to Covid and all that . But ACR Woodpecker 5 arrived and installed by local independent Hetas installer ( Sussex Stoves) all very good. Excellent product

Aftercare is non existent

Aftercare is non existent. It broke 4 weeks after installation and they did not want to know.
It is far better to buy from a local gas fire store and they will resolve any issues.
By the time you pay for installation too, it’s very expensive.
Avoid at all costs.
I have just read Direct stoves reply and unfortunately they are not being honest or fair if I have any more problems with this fire then I am going to have it returned unfortunately there is no customer service I Contacted Mike daly that did not even address the email by my name as I said I had the fire installed four weeks later it went wrong and Direct those have told me it’s not something they can deal with under the warranty The company that installed the fire said they have done their job it was working and signed off by direct stoves will not pay me for an engineer to come out and look at it to tell me the remote control is faulty Just stay clear from Direct stoves or you will regret it as I have

We are sorry that you feel your experience with us was not what you expected, however we can see that the team did everything they could to work with you to resolve your warranty and installation issues once you made us aware of them. The cost of the installation of the product is out of our control and the issues regarding your first and second installer not wishing to return to help you with regards to the installation and fault finding were also beyond our control or awareness. You had subsequently gone to a third engineer privately to look at your machine and the supplier who holds the warranty with our assistance has now sent the faulty part to you. Unfortunately the engagement and costs for this third installer fell outside or the warranty terms and conditions and the supplier could not meet this cost. If you had informed us/the supplier of the fault immediately we could have worked with you to achieve a satisfactory outcome within the terms and conditions of your warranty but this i am afraid did not happen and ourselves and the supplier were only made aware of the situation after you had chosen your own path based on your relationships with your installers.

Amazing. Dealt with Sarah via phone and email. Answer email in under an hour. Couldn’t have been more helpful. I would 100% recommend direct stoves.

Very pleased with my gas stove good quality . Arrived on time , I had one missing item from my order e mailed company received a replay in less than an hour item posted arrived next day delivery , excellent service .

Top rated company

Easy order process, excellent customer service, I did have a slight crack in the base plate of the fire but it was still fine to use. Stoves direct sent me a spare part which I can fit at my leisure if ever needed. Would recommend this company 100%

Gas stove not igniting

On return from holiday, we couldn’t get the gas stove to ignite. I contacted Direct Stoves as the error code shown on the handset wasn’t listed in the manual. Things took a while, a bit too long in my view, but eventually DS were able to come up with the goods and give me the instructions to get the fire going. So, a big thank you to the customer services team.

Didn't realise they don't actually stock the stove

Didn't realise they don't stock the stoves and instead drop-ship from the manufacturer, this meant that when the stove wasn't delivered, the only response from them was to give me the phone number of the manufacturer to chase it up. They didn't even try to help track it down. And to makes thing more frustrating, I found the product afterwards on Westcountry stoves for £100 less and they actually stock it.

Really poor customer service if things go wrong.

Prompt service and good courier arrangements

Excellent website, great delivery options - choice of date, extremely prompt dispatch, tracking details, 2 hour delivery slot provided and it turned up right in the middle of that slot. Overall excellent experience, would recommend.

This is the first time I have used this company, but after the outstanding customer service/communication from Mike Daly, I will not hesitate to purchase from them again. It has been very refreshing dealing with a open and honest salesman. Thank you Mike for all your help.

After receiving a product that was unfortunately damaged in Transit, Sarah sorted out a replacement very swiftly and was soon delivered. The product itself is very good and I would thouroghly recommened Direct Stoves and will use them again where necessary. Gary B

Great customer service

We ordered Arada Holborn 5 stove from Direct Stoves and were not disappointed with the seller! The item was delivered with some delays, but we have been kept updated. When the stove was installed, I had a question about a part placement that didn't look right. Sarah was in touch with Arada and found all the answers to this question. I then needed to return the unpacked Multifuel part which we didn't want and she checked and advised on the returning process with Arada again. The return was successful. This all left a good impression. Thank you!

Bad news for this company....use a proper company.

I took delivery of my Tiger gas log burner, was delivered promptly, it was well packaged. Little did i know what was in store, when the fire was opened, it needed building up, every thing came in pieces, I can't even say how upset I was, ridiculous, who would expect to have to make it up before the gas fitter starts, not me!! an old age pensioner on her own, who would order a new car and expect to put in the engine.!!!it was so disappointing but that wasn't the end of it, the measurements that we had worked everything around was incorrect F measurement is incorrect, it didn't take in the bracket at the back, therefore the flue didn't fit vertically, as we had done all the measurement that is showed on line, once again, soooo disappointing. I wrote a letter of complaint and just received a cursory email back. When you have paid good money for a product I would have expected more in the way of an apology..it has left a bitter taste in my mouth... so please beware, pay a little more and use a good company. The product is great but the company well......I need stay no more (I hope)

I’m sorry you feel you’ve had bad service.

Most gas stoves tend to come in two parts. The main body and the gas burner. It’s not expected that the customer would assemble the burner unit and stove. This is something that the gas safe installer would be expected to do. Although we don’t specifically state this on the web site we do have the installation manual on the web site to download and we also email this to you along with your order confirmation. I’ve also checked the sizes and they appear to be correct so I’m not sure why you’d have had any issue with the installation. If you can email sales@directstoves.com with the sizes of the opening and depth from back of the opening to the flue we can check to see if there’s any reason you can’t get the flue to go straight up.

Great Customer Service

Ordered Chesney stove and although we experienced Covid related delays outside Direct Stoves control, Customer Service has been excellent in chasing the suppliers and keeping us informed. It has arrived now and it's wonderful!
