WARNING - AVOID DENVER DOOR-TO-DOOR MOVERS (AKA LARK MOVERS)
WARNING — AVOID DENVER DOOR-TO-DOOR MOVERS (AKA LARK MOVERS)
My experience with this company was one of the worst service experiences I have ever had.
We were told by Adnan that the quote would be “100% accurate” and there would be no additional costs. Instead, the crew arrived short-handed, and when we were supposed to be finished, the foreman said, "I have to charge you additional hours to finish the job." This unwelcome surprise came when my belongings were on their truck and they would not finish the job unless I agreed to their terms. The move ran about three hours longer than estimated (roughly a 32% increase), and I was charged an additional $1,029 beyond the quoted amount.
What makes that even more frustrating is how simple the job was. All of the boxes were already packed. The movers only needed to load them from my house and unload them into a secure warehouse located just 2.5 miles away.
The additional charge was bad enough. The property damage was much worse. My belongings were not professionally handled by most all accounts (and common sense). Heavy metal weights were stacked on top of a plastic storage container until it was crushed. A patio table that originally cost $3,800 was used to support other items and was returned dented and bent. I documented approximately $4,460 in damage, with photographs.
After reporting the damage, I repeatedly called and emailed the company. I was told I would receive a return call from Adnan, but that never happened. Instead of receiving a meaningful response, the company ghosted me. The only response we receive are the AI-generated generic customer-service messages to our online posts while completely ignoring the documented damage and the specific issues I raised. They read like canned corporate talking points rather than a genuine attempt to resolve the problem.
At that point, it became clear that getting an honest resolution through normal channels is unlikely. Formal complaints have been filed with the Better Business Bureau and the Colorado Department of Regulatory Agencies / Public Utilities Commission (DORA/PUC). I have also retained legal counsel, and my attorney is preparing the matter for filing in Boulder County civil court.
My takeaway is simple: I paid substantially more than quoted, their unprofessional loading resulted in thousands of dollars in property damage, we have been unable to obtain a meaningful resolution despite repeated efforts --- the company has not paid a penny for all the damages that were the direct result of neglect. Based on my experience, I would strongly advise anyone considering Denver Door-to-Door Movers to proceed with extreme caution and make sure every promise, estimate, and damage claim is documented in writing.
