Watch buying nightmare — avoid
I purchased a Tudor Black Bay 58 on fabric with an additional bracelet from DMR in April 2026 to commemorate the birth of my first child.
Upon collection, the fabric strap was too short. I left the watch with Alex at the Manchester store while a longer strap was supposedly ordered by Victoria.
After three weeks with no update, I chased the matter myself and returned to collect the watch, only to be told that Tudor don't make a longer fabric strap after all, suggesting I source a third party strap myself or purchase a Tudor leather strap at a cost of hundreds of pounds. No apology for the wasted wait and no offer to contribute towards the cost.
While collecting the watch, I inspected it in the Tudor boutique opposite DMR. I noticed the dial was covered in dust or oxidised particles beneath the crystal. Dan, the Boutique Manager, agreed the watch was faulty after checking with two watchmakers and arranged a replacement.
I specifically asked for the replacement to be thoroughly checked before it was sent to me. I was assured by Dan that it would be.
The bracelet I had also purchased required sizing and was sent away separately. A few days later, the replacement watch arrived at my home. On opening the package, I found a chip, scratches on the case and a damaged bracelet screw on what I had been told was a brand new watch.
Neither the first nor the second watch had swing tags on the boxes. Draw your own conclusions.
DMR apologised, but the response felt perfunctory. Before accepting the refund, I enquired about exchanging the watch for another model as a way to keep my business with them. This was ignored entirely. Their final resolution was simply to refund me. No goodwill gesture, no acknowledgement of the time and inconvenience caused for what was supposed to be a special occasion, just a generic apology.
What disappointed me most was the way I was treated throughout. Despite spending several thousand pounds on a luxury watch, I was left feeling like an inconvenience rather than a valued customer. At no stage did resolving the issues feel like a priority, even after the first watch was confirmed faulty and I had specifically requested the replacement be checked before dispatch. Had I been spending more or a more prestigious brand perhaps my experience would have differed. I was also told the watch was the last one as it was being discontinued, yet they're still for sale on the website at the time of writing this.
What should have been a special purchase to commemorate the birth of my first child turned into a frustrating and time consuming experience involving repeated quality issues, delays, multiple trips and constant chasing for updates.
Finally, I was told my refund had been processed three days before the actual date shown on the refund receipt.
Two months. Two defective watches. Three different salespeople.
It's really not good enough.
I informed Tudor directly of my experience as I do not believe this is the standard Tudor expects from its authorised dealers.
My advice to buyers: inspect any watch carefully with a watchmaker's loupe before accepting it, regardless of any assurances given. Better still, avoid this business entirely.
Great service from Canary Wharf and Baron
I wanted to buy my wife a special watch for a landmark birthday. Baron at the Canary Wharf store could not have been more helpful in guiding us through the options available, and just as importantly kept me informed about the ordering process using WhatsApp. He managed to source the piece we wanted in time for my wife’s birthday too, which was a welcome bonus!

Conor’s service was excellent. I had dropped off my watch for service a few weeks back.
When I returned to the store, Conor remembered me by name (impressive).
I had zero issues, my Tag came back from a service and looked perfect.
Throughout the servicing period - Conor kept me updated by email.
I am a happy customer, (my watch means the world to me)
Great customer service as you would expect from the LVMH group, and overall a great experience which I would recommend.
I will be back for my Monaco (one day)… which will be my 3rd Tag watch.

One of the main reasons I enjoy visiting the DMR Jubilee Place showroom is the opportunity to speak with Baron. He is an exceptionally friendly, polite, and welcoming individual who always makes me feel comfortable and at ease. An exceptional customer service was provided by the staff at DMR Canary Wharf. The Advisor Melanie was very knowledgeable, understanding of our requirements and provided us with options on the item we purchased. I recently collected my Rolex GMT-Master II from David Robinson Jewellers on 13/06/2026, and the experience was exceptional from start to finish.
I was looked after by Hannah Williams, who I have had the pleasure of dealing with before. Hannah is always welcoming, professional, and incredibly knowledgeable. My horology passion
My horology passion has been with me for many years and my relationship with DMR for cira 10 of those. The journey has always been a pleasure but my most recent purchase with Hugo took it to another level. His expertise, professionalism and knowledge of the time piece is question was fantastic. Provided a great overview of its history and was also patient with me allowing to try on other models.
Hugo is a real asset to DMR and it’s the only place I would purchase from as the experience was second to none……also their coffee is banging!

My first time at David M Robinson great experience
I pre booked my appointment couple days before i was due to visit the showroom in Canary Wharf to explore the Rolex Datejust variation as i have always dream of owning and cherishing one .
On arrival i was greeted by lady called Mel.
Mel looked after me throughout my visit and provided outstanding customer service. absolutely friendly, professional and incredibly knowledgeable, taking the time to answer my questions and ensure i felt welcomed and valued. She showed me a similar model i also express and it happen to show one of the model i quite liked and explained some of the technical aspect of the watch before registering me. Hopefully i will get the surprised call sooner or later as i can't wait to get this on my wrist and enjoy.
Lastly a big thank you to Mel for her exceptional service. She is a real credit to DMR, and i would recommend anyone who is interested in different watch brand as they don't just sell Rolex but different brand too and jewellery. So get yourself down there and visit the boutique as all staff are great and accommodating.
