Great initially, disappointing ultimately

I am a cloud hosting customer of CWCS, and have been for around 18 months. I opted for the Platinum support option along with a Barracuda email filter and I have to say that the whole solution is working out really well for me and my customers.

Sites are just as fast to load as they were on my previous dedicated server (which had been hosted with another provider) and thanks to the Barracuda email filter I'm now getting a fraction of the support requests from my customers about problems with email SPAM, compared to before.

I find that the support team at CWCS are extremely helpful, friendly and quick to come back to you. As a Platinum support customer it's also nice to know that backups and software updates are taken care of for you and that you have some time each month with engineers to work on more technical things, like custom PHP builds.

There have been a couple of outages during the time I've been with CWCS but recent improvements and upgrades in their cloud platform seem to have done the trick.

Overall I would say that my experience with CWCS has been positive and I would definitely recommend them to others.

I have been left with no choice but to leave CWCS after I found my recent experience with them to be unacceptably poor. Their level of service has degraded significantly since my initial review. I had two 'managed' cloud servers (with ‘Platinum’ support) with CWCS and after all of the meltdown / spectre news I was told that because my server had not been updated to more recent version of Ubuntu that it could not be patched (CWCS left it on Ubuntu 12.04 LTS until after the EOL date and never warned or advised me of this). I do not believe it is my responsibility to ensure that the server is patched considering I was paying for a managed product, with their ‘best’ support package available. If I wanted to be protected, I would therefore have to be migrated to a new product (which could cost more), or if I chose to leave CWCS I would be in a contract buy-out scenario on one server (because they have rolling contracts - watch out for that as well) I have now moved everything to a new provider and would no longer recommend CWCS. It seemed like CWCS were very happy to sit back and take hundreds of pounds from me each month while leaving my cloud instances to be at risk. I was with CWCS for a number of years and initially they were very good as you can read above (which is the reason for downgrading to two stars instead of one) but it’s a disappointing end to this relationship and it leaves a bitter taste in my mouth.

Excellent Support

CWCS are like our outsourced IT Department. Building and hosting websites is our main business and it is essential that we have a reliable supplier that can support all our requirements and free up our time to concentrate on our main activity. Over the last 15 years we have had arrangements with a number of data-centers but would recommend CWCS above all.

CWCS staff are friendly, helpful and informed.

I have been with CWCS for a year and they are very friendly and helpful. They have excellent technical support staff who have solved problems for me, and pointed me in the right direction every time I have contacted them. Even my complicated problems which have needed some analyse have been looked into and I have been given an answer in just a few days. I can recommend CWCS as excellent company to be in business with.

CWCS would apear in our top 5 suppliers out of 50+ that we use

As CWCS website states; Enterprise-Class hosting - this is delivered from a flexible and friendly team. We have only experienced a few minor disruptions in service over the past couple of years, but I strongly feel support jump on these immediately and learn from them so they don't happen again. When we need to log support tickets for hands on changes, including equipment restarts in our Co-Lo they are handled very professionally and quicker than I would have imagined. CWCS defiantly have a going above and beyond approach to their customer service.

1st Class Service and Support

I have a dedicated server at CWCS and host several websites for my clients as well as my business. If i have any questions or issues, the support is first class. In four years i have never had to contact them regarding downtime as there simply has not been any. I would recommend CWCS to anyone who requires first class service and support.

Caring; Watchful; Clear; Secure

You know I have been using this host for some 4 years now and found it to be the most reliable. My previous host used to fail at least once a month sometimes even more I have only had 1 failure when they had some sort of power outage..

Top notch

I've been with CWCS for a long and have never had to look elsewhere, nor have I wanted to. Great customer service, I feel like I have my own account manager who knows me. They say you pay for what you get, however, I've paid more with others and received less.

Clearly Wonderful Client Service (CWCS - geddit?)

To start with a cliché (it gets better) 'You get what you pay for'. CWCS aren't the cheapest guys on the block by a long shot, but they're MY guys on the block. They always over-deliver in terms of support, and more than once have sorted out problems that my clients have caused (and that I didn't know how to fix) and which truthfully could not have been reasonably required of CWCS to sort out. But sort out they did. I have asked technical questions from idiotic to fiendishly tough and they are always polite and thorough. Service can at times be a little slow and for the most part they keep us informed. This is an area that could be improved somewhat but I am careful to load my requests with the right level of urgency and if it is big emergency they always come good. They take their jobs and business seriously and strive to improve and upgrade. For reasons mostly to do with where clients have existing sites hosted not all my eggs are in the CWCS basket but I know from my experiences dealing with some of the big boys that bigger is not better. Dealing with overseas call centres might be OK if you are querying your gas bill but if it's tech talk, trust me you don't want it. I starred with a cliche and I'll end with my Grandpa's favourite cliché: 'Buy cheap buy twice'.

Great technical support!

Have been with CWCS for over 10 years, now hosting about 70 sites for clients with them. I am a typical creative, know what I want to see, but have neither the patience or the ability when it comes to the technical side! CWCS's support has always been on hand to help when needed.
Highly recommended

Great Service and Back Up Support

CWCS have been providing our hosting services for over 5 years now. We tried several providers before we finally settled on CWCS.

We started on a shared server and quickly progressed to a dedicated server which has served us really well. Support has always been excellent as is pre-sales advice.

I recommend CWCS as they provide a fast and reliable service.

Very good and still improving

I've am very happy with the service of CWCS and their managed hosting. They are a growing company and are aiming high; both in terms of products & solutions offered as well as technical expertise.

They are ISO 27001 accredited and offer us exactly what we need in a hosting provider at a good price.

They are also very happy for you to go visit them and tour their operations.

Great service!

CWCS are our chosen hosting "partners" because they care about what they do, take ownership when things go awry and they answer their phone! I'd have no hesitation recommending them.

They work, most of the time....

I have dealt with CWCS for a great number of years. Up until the past year, they have been wonderful. However, we have had clients that have left us due to email servers not working. Their IT experts have claimed that it is down to the CWCS server, and we have no evidence to doubt that - it is not only one client but many saying the same thing.

However, it must be said that their customer service is impeccable and they do everything they can to fix your problems as soon as they can. The server speed is also very high, although make sure you subscribe to their maintenance calendar so that you know when your hosting server is going to be down for testing. They do not inform you unless you subscribe - which is a little confusing and has caused us problems in the past.

Overall, we have had our ups and downs. We continue to use CWCS although we are looking for another hosting provider for future endeavours as to avoid the troubles.

Web hosting second to none!

I have been a client of CWCS for around 16 years and have found them to be very professional in all things. When I have had a problem (usually my own fault) their technical support team sort it out very quickly. I would highly recommend CWCS for any/all your hosting needs.

This company could not even take the responsibility of renewing a domain and they host!!! WOW

Could you imagine a hosting company does not renew a domain even though auto renew was on? if they cant make a simple task like this, could you imagine to be responsible for hosting? I purchased the company, they transferred the domain-- but they transferred (as they say) a cancelled domain (cancelled as far as their system thought) to me.- so unprofessional. They "believe" the domain was cancelled on their system prior to me purchasing the company..pretty ridiculous! TO HAVE AUTO RENEW ON AND CANCELLATION? TO SETUP A NEW ACCOUNT WITH A CANCELLED DOMAIN? CANCELLED DOMAIN OPERATING FOR 9 MONTHS? what type of system do they have that does not send flags. Certainly not enough protection built in to save me. Auto renew was on so I trusted that they would renew it. They did not..it expired SO 30 days AFTER THAT, my website went down and i could not even get the emails from my customers.. They even invoiced me for domain management even though there was no domain. Do they not have triggers in their system or flags? BE CAREFUL WITH THIS COMPANY...IF YOU RELY ON YOUR DOMAIN..THEY MAY NOT RENEW IT WHEN IT IS DUE AND THEY WILL COME UP WITH EXCUSES AND NOT EVEN OWN THE PROBLEM. it took me over an hour to convince the emergency support desk to do something..that my site was down but because it was domain related...they did not feel this was something they could handle over the weekend. This company is unprofessional and a total mess. i dont even know how they could be in business if a simple task can get so messed up.
