Crunchbase sent me a single email to a secondary email address to warn me that I was automatically transferred to a Pro plan @ $588 per year. 1 month notice, no reminders. No refunds. Crooks.

I have made many attempt to talk with support and sales and have never ever received a response. The email contact section is 50/50 at best. There appears to be may applications but no one to assist. The entire management team need to be fired. If I were one of the current "share" holders I would bolt for the door. The company appears to be on autopilot and headed for the ground. Total mismanagement and total lack of care for its free and paying customers.

Confusing Cancellation Process and Unclear Billing
I signed up for Crunchbase’s 7-day free trial on May 5, 2025, and canceled on May 11, 2025. However, I never received a cancellation confirmation. Despite this, I was charged once, and when I raised the issue, Crunchbase claimed I “did not cancel initially.”
What makes this worse is that I never received confirmation of either cancellation or billing, leaving me confused and concerned about their process. A company offering paid subscriptions should provide clear, transparent, and accessible cancellation procedures with immediate confirmations — otherwise it feels deceptive.
I’m still waiting for resolution, but this experience has made me question Crunchbase’s billing practices and customer support. Transparency and trust are crucial for a platform like this, and right now, they are falling short.

Embarrassingly bad UX when it comes to adding and editing people/users/employees (or whatever the system expects them to be called) to companies.

I would give them Zero if I could. They advertise 7 day free trial, but when you cancel they don't have it clearly stated you need to contact support as well for the refund. They don't care either. Scam!
Lack of transparency and notification on subscription renewals
similar to other reviews posted here, the lack of transparency around subscription pricing and renewal is the major issue. my subscription renewed today for nearly twice the amount from last year. No notifications via email about the new pricing nor any notification that my subscription was going to renew, only that it renewed after the fact.
Update: CB promptly provided a full refund which shows good customer service. I have updated my review star account accordingly.
Do not sign up with this company
Do not sign up with this company. They are a SCAM. They lure you into a free trial period and by any chance if you forget to cancel the membership they charge you and if you call them to cancel they will not even bother refunding you the prorated amount. DO not fall for their free trial!! Their research is not useful or worth the money.

Just dont... even if you think "it might be fine" just dont even go a step further. $109 for 10 contacts and a snarky customer service agent that loves to waive policies in your face when it comes time to do the right thing, and refund someone.
Cynical billing practices, avoid if you can
I had used Crunchbase at a previous employer, using my personal card and expensing it. When I left that company, all email comms went to the old address and I didn't cancel the agreement. When I saw the charge I raised it with them and I was told that unless the issue was raised within 7 days there's nothing they can do. It was clear to them that I hadn't been using the account and I informed them that I didn't have access to the email they'd sent comms to (if they had) but this was ignored. As a SaaS company, it's clear that they could easily terminate a sub after 7 days of billing - it's clear that their business practice is to minimize the termination window and bill regardless of whether the customer is getting value (ie logging in at all). In my experience, this is poor practice as it hides the true value the service delivers (ie the value is probably over-stated internally as the usage is likely low) and the creates a poor customer experience. This isn't a good combination for long term success and I think the chickens will eventually come home to roost. I don't recommend using them at all.

There is no way to reach customer service to Crunch base or one of their co.panies Self Financial. If you happen to get a human at Self they will hang up on you. Steer clear if crunchbase abd self. Very shady organization. I told you so if your dumb enough to fool with then. Its been a huge regret. STEER CLEAR

Sales service that is not customer centric and is slow
I am trying to subscribe to a business license and the sales person is slow and not at all customer focused. Plus what the website is saying and what the sales person is telling me seems different. This has been the worst purchasing experience I can remember.
Also, if you are an APAC customer, your avaialble slots for a conversation with sales, is often around 3-4am. Crunchbase needs to improve on this and maybe have customer care agents in Asian time zones to allow for more reasonable call times for customers.

I have NOT created an account, but I got email with the following content. Moreover, they use some random name for the account.
"It looks like your subscription payment of $647 didn't go through. Please make sure your googlepay account is connected in Account Settings and update your googlepay payment method if needed."
I requested to cancel all subscriptions and remove the account and all related data.
They cancelled the subscription, but have not removed the account yet.
