ABSOLUTELY USELESS
We joined Core in Summer 2021 as our business was rapidly expanding and we couldn't keep up with the orders anymore. Unfortunately due to a number of factors which I will mention below, we decided to leave in February 2023.
I will mention the few positives first: The onboarding process was very smooth, and the IT team were always quick to reply. The inbound team have also always been very responsive.
Their main disadvantage as a fulfilment provider is that from what we have gathered, their business model relies almost solely on employing temporary workers, which is why their service can never be consistent.
The first 6 months of working with Core were great, the fulfilment of the retail orders was almost perfect, however they did not seem to have a very good understanding of large B2B orders and have always struggled with these.
The first problems started around September 2022, there was a point we had over 200 orders waiting to be shipped and it was taking at least a week to ship anything. We requested a meeting with the owner to find out why things had gone so wrong. The meeting took place in October 2022, the owner blamed “record-low unemployment” and said they were struggling to retain the agency workers. They did promise things would get better, and they did, for about 2 weeks after the meeting, then things started to slow down and the orders were building up again.
In early November 2022, we questioned again why fulfilment was taking so long, and their reason was one of their other clients had started Black Friday early and they were now running very behind, so clearly, they were not prepared for a commerce event that happens at the same point every year. We struggled our way through the whole of Black Friday and peak Christmas trading, constantly having to apologise to our customers for the late fulfilment times, and constantly having to battle with Core Fulfilment to get our orders out.
For the first two weeks of December 2022, we had to pack and ship almost 100 orders from our office, whilst still paying Core Fulfilment to do the exact same thing, all because they simply could not get the orders out the door. It was at this point we decided we did not want to work with this company anymore.
The whole point of hiring a 3PL company is to reduce the fulfilment workload so you can focus on other parts of the business. With Core Fulfilment, we were still doing the same work (if not more due to their mistakes) and paying them a premium at the same time.
I haven’t even mentioned the fact they also regularly lost our stock, sent out numerous orders with products missing, amended and even cancelled our orders without informing us, and even sent out other company’s products to our customers.
The customer service I’m sorry to say was abysmal, we had to repeatedly email them for a simple task to be actioned, and their stock management was almost non-existent.
They also do not ship all orders out on the same day, even orders with a next day shipping service, which is quite frankly appalling as this was one of the main reasons we chose them. So their “late cut off times” is simply a lie as it means nothing.
Overall, I do not recommend using Core Fulfilment, which is a real shame because having met them in person, they seemed like very friendly people, gave all the right answers and made us feel a lot more comfortable with having them as our fulfilment provider. However after everything I have mentioned, plus incompetent staff, lazy management and poor processes, this all makes for a terrible, terrible service. For your own sanity, AVOID AT ALL COSTS.

I have recently moved from another fulfilment provider to Core Fulfilment in Crewe and I have to say the negative reviews are not representative of our experience as a customer.
We sell a product Called Airgon which is is a vortex deaerator to reduce consumer heating bills by upto 30%, its a multipart pick and costs £249 so it has to go out perfect.
We negotiated a deal which included; notice period and rates ,MOQ and packaging which was definitely in the spirit of partnership, so the review that talks about small print, he clearly didn't read the contract before signing it. We are now in our 3rd week and its so refreshing to feel valued, the staff are amazing and you can tell walking around the site that everyone enjoys working here. They are super efficient, do what they say and then show you when they have done it. The onboarding process was straight forward and simple. The IT Manager Chris has been extremely helpful and gone out of his way to support us on manual orders and collections. So I would ignore the negative reviews its not representative of this business and I would be happy to share our experience personally if you are thinking of working with Core. I give them 5 stars because this is how a 5 star business should operate.
Disgusting Morals
If you are thinking of using this company to look after your products, please read on below to find out how this company truly treat people. This company hired a recruitment agency, looking to find a prospective new employee in a specific area of the business, and filter candidates down. I was luck to be one of the chosen few and was excited when I was requested to meet at a hotel for an interview, being only one of 2 or 3 candidates. I arrived at the hotel 30 minutes early to be prepared awaiting the arrival of one of the company directors, what unfolded next was a true shock. I waited for 2 hours and nobody turned up. I was understandably angry however I do understand that there may have been reasons for the no show however the lack of communication was astonishing and the most unprofessional experience of my whole life. The recruiter spoke to the CEO of the company and apparently he asked for my number and I was promised a phone call that evening to apologise. Unsurprisingly the phone call never came. I was let down twice in the same day by this company, after taking unpaid leave to attend the interview, many miles away from home at a location chosen to suit them. Still one week on, no call, no communication, nothing. This experience highlights the moral compass of this organisation. If they treat potential employees like this, how do you think they will look after your goods. I dodged a bullet here, look at the other reviews, do yourself a favour and take your custom elsewhere. A disgusting experience.
Stay far away from this company
Stay far away from this company. They are cheats. Their fulfillment is great when you use them. But they have hidden costs and small print that was not discussed when setting up an account with them. After a certain amount of time they applied a MOQ on our account and you need to pay for that even though it was not discussed or mentioned in the onboarding.
Picking and packing costs also went up without informing us.
Stuck with a massive unnecessary bill for services we did not make use of.
So for a small business I would not recommend this company as they basically dont care about you as a small business.
Its a real shame how they have treated our business. As we were happy with their fulfillment. But the extra costs for services we didn’t use is ridiculous.
