Saw item at auction via invaluable. Won the bid and now Connoisseur Online is saying the item isn't available. They are selling items they do not have possession of which seems underhanded and misleading at best and fraudulent at worst. My first and last bid with this company. My advice to you - avoid them like the plague.

Not to be trusted! Avoid them! They will lure you by showing you prices that seem reasonable or low, but will give you inaccurate invoices, will never include a shipping estimate as the invoice says they must or will, and then charge you an exorbitant amount for shipping. Avoid them at all costs. Report them if you have had this or an equally bad experience with them.

Listen to what everyone is saying. It’s all true. You can not get a hold of anyone at this auction house. They over charge on shipping to the point where they are making money on shipping by a ton. Something that should at best cost about $35 at the very worst case they are charging $86. I’ve tried over 3 days now with 61 calls. Numerous emails and the live chat is all a lie. There’s no live chat all you can do is leave a message.
Which I have done numerous times. And not one reply back. I wish I would have looked up this auction house before bidding or else I would not be in this stupid situation. Stay away. When a company only lists a P.O. Box as an address. That alone is a red flag.

Honestly, STAY AWAY, i have called multiple times, they sent me a painting 11 inches shorter then the one listed on liveauctioneers, I have called several times, and left numerous messages, a disgusting company and not even willing to answer back and refund me my money for a painting that was drastically different in size. You dont want to trust this company! STAY AWAY, so many good auctions that answer back, and there "live chat" is crap, its not even live, its just a message email sent to them...

What kind of auction is this where the starting bid is more than most people can even remotely afford. Not even worth the time but it continues to show up in my search criteria.

Perpetrated fraud in notifying me I won an item through his auction on Invaluable.com which I never saw before. I don't collect animal heads??. Called and talked to the guy running the auction. He presented terrible communication skills using poor grammer. He said he would take care of the issue and so note it on the bill. I have emailed back 2 or three times regarding issue. Still getting email invoices to pay. Have contacted Invaluable regarding fraudulent auction practices and have changed my Invaluable password. Scammer steer clear.

Complete scam artists. Beware. Over-inflated price ranges and many items are inferior and or drop shipped from other companies at much cheaper prices.

This company is a disgrace.

Connoisseur Auctions via LiveAuctioneers and Invaluable auction a lot of "Tiffany" stained glass products that are brand new mass-manufactured items that are definitely not Tiffany (they are distributed under the "Chloe" label out of Texas). They put on estimate on these items that are 2-4 times the purchase price of the same items on eBay and Amazon. There is no ethical way an auction house can put an estimate on an item that is higher than its purchase price available elsewhere, because that purchase price has to be the highest possible estimate. What this means is that they are deliberately attempting to deceive a purchaser into thinking the item is worth more than it is, even though they know it is not.

They overcharge. They do not answer calls or emails. They send out the wrong items. They are the worst!

These guys are dishonest and should not be allowed to host auctions.
I bought a black bear full mount taxidermy specimen. Looked great on the web and i paid $875 incl commission- then the trouble started. They advertise that they "under promise and overdeliver with the promises we make, we SAVE YOU at least 50% of what you’d have to pay and an outside shipper by doing all of our make-ready, boxing, shipping and insuring in house, not only a huge saving for you but you don’t have to spend time and additional money seeking out a shipper to pick up and deliver your items to you" That is a big fat LIE. I got quotations for 50% of what they were charging in 15 minutes on line BUT could not ship as they could not produce the Animal Welfare Certificate or CITES which are legally require to ship. After nearly three weeks of lying and cheating they finally accepted that the bear was not legally able to be shipped and refunded my credit card.
I asked for the name and email address of the CEO but was told he had passed away and that I needed to deal with Derek Archer the self styled Chief Marketing Officer who is the most condescending, least customer focused person I have ever dealt with. My only consolation is that with him in charge they will cease to trade within a very few months.
My strong advice is not to trade with this company, avoid the stress and heartache. There are so many good companies out there!

Worst online bidding experience so far.

Connoisseur Online selling on Invaluable Auction sent a synthetic Ruby (man made) while describing it as a Natural Ruby in the auction listing (huge price difference - Natural vs synthetic). Later they sent a fake lab report to confirm that it is a natural Ruby when asked for return instructions for refund as the item delivered was not "as described"

Connoisseur Online is telling now that the items they are selling on Invaluable Auction are listed by third parties and those items do not belong to them (they have no clue of what is being sold) . However Connoisseur Online did not disclose this arrangement in the original listing. Also, Connoisseur Online issued an invoice and collected the payment from the winning bidder at the end of auction; making them liable for the item they sold (buyer and seller contract).

Now, no response from them despite repeated reminders to resolve the issue.

Intend to take up this case with relevant Consumer Affairs Agencies for them to take appropriate action.

Problem here is the item delivered is not “as is” (not natural Ruby as described in the listing)

It takes time but nothing personal. It could be beneficial to those who access these reviews/web sites to see what the consumer right are. Whether sellers terms and conditions can supersede “Consumer Protection Laws* ” - mislead consumers by giving wrong description initially and later say that they are not responsible.

*Unfair and Deceptive Acts and Practices (UDAP) ” Statute - Deception sufficient without proof of intent or knowledge.

Going to refer this case to FTC, BBB. SC Attorney General.
