Clapham & Collinge did a fantastic job conveyancing for us when we were buying our home, they were thorough and very supportive with all our questions and concerns and they got us to completion fast too, they were everything we could have asked for.

This is the second time Frances Culling, ably assisted by Mahek, has dealt with residential conveyancing on my behalf and again Frances was professional, efficient and responded promptly to all questions raised. This was our 4th property sale and as usual everything was done very quickly and professionally with sound advice when we wanted clarification of anything.
Normally we deal with Anne, who is excellent, but unfortunately she was indisposed just as we approached exchange and completion, which could have made things really difficult.
However, Rosemary stepped into take her place and was brilliant, turning things round with the same speed as Anne so that we got the dates we were working to with no major hassle from our point of view.
Despite some of the negative comments on here all our dealings with any of the staff have always been totally positive and we would happily recommend them.

Clapham and Collinge recently dealt with my sale and purchase of a property. Elizabeth Gibson dealt with the case and I cannot fault the service I received. I was always kept informed of the circumstances and we completed in a very timely manner.

Appalling customer service and refusal to make things right. We retained C&C in April 2023 to handle my late uncle's estate. The FIRST solicitor, Lauren Abbs resigned in July 2023. The SECOND solicitor, Susannah Parr, shared the C&C billing account to 7 September, which had already accumulated to the estimated total cost for completion of the entire estate. The accounts confirmed that Ms. Abbs had billed all hours at her rates and not her paralegal's, and she even billed to correct multiple mistakes we pointed out to her in her July 2023 preparation of the draft IHT400. Ms. Parr resigned from C&C in October 2023. When we still didn't have grant of probate by December 2023, we made our own inquiries and discovered C&C failed to make the tax payment to HMRC in August 2023 and to refile the IHT421 in October 2023. C&C notified us on 21 December 2023 that the THIRD solicitor on our case, Graeme Beattie, had also left the firm. When we asked in writing on 21 December 2023 for a management review of our case and a copy of the billing to date, partner Ben Lowe failed to acknowledge the requests. When the FOURTH solicitor Christina Stohr started work at C&C in January 2024, she informed us on 10 January 2024 that C&C received grant of probate on 19 December 2023, concurrent to December communications with Mr. Lowe. We supplied C&C in writing with specific billing questions in preparation for a case review meeting with Ms. Stohr on 2 February 2024, during which Ms. Stohr stated she had not read the letter in advance of the meeting. Ms. Stohr continued to refuse to provide the accounts since 7 September 2023. There were so many opportunities for C&C to step up, be transparent, address direct questions, and even make things right. We paid their secretive bill in full in order to end doing business with them. Too many mistakes, costs above estimate, personnel departures, and pompous responses from Mr. Lowe and Ms. Stohr. Engage a more transparent and trustworthy firm.
