Shitty service

Same complaint as others - wont buy again! This is the 2nd time I've had issues with this company. Last time they never shipped my order and when I contacted them, they didn't have the product any more.

This time, Ive been waiting over 2 weeks for order. I contacted them, they've since sent one item of the three ordered - where's the others!!!! Far out, never again. Cute but shitty service.

The most disgraceful pathetic excuse of a business

I use the term “business” loosely, because this is not a business in any professional sense. I genuinely have no idea how this company is still operating. From deleting negative comments on their social media because they can’t handle criticism, to their complete lack of accountability, the experience has been nothing short of abysmal.

Ordering from this company has caused me nothing but stress. Christmas is already a difficult and busy time of year for many people, without the added burden of unnecessary frustration from a company that cannot deliver what it promises.

Like many others, I purchased several pairs of bathers for my children as Christmas presents on 6 November 2025, with an advertised shipping date of 10 November. Shortly after, I received an email explaining there would be delays due to stock issues. While disappointing, I appreciated the communication and initially gave them the benefit of the doubt.

In the second week of December, I followed up again and was told my order would ship “in two days.” Two days passed with no update, so I emailed requesting a full refund. At that point, I also reported the company to Consumer Protection.

Within hours, I suddenly received a shipping confirmation, along with an email expressing surprise that I had made a complaint — an unprofessional and inappropriate response.

Two days before Christmas, my order arrived incorrect. I received only one of the two pairs of bathers I ordered for my daughter, all of the items for my son, and an extra pair of shorts I did not order. I contacted them immediately to notify them of the mistake and to ask where the missing item was.

Fast forward to today, 2 February 2026, and I still have not received the second pair of bathers. My complaint remains open with Consumer Protection and has now progressed to conciliation.

Do not — and I cannot stress this enough — waste your money, time, or energy on this company. The service is unacceptable, the processes are chaotic, and customers are left chasing basic resolutions for months. Never again will I order from here, and I strongly advise others to avoid them as well.

Very expensive for poor quality. And shipping issues

I've bought 3 different things off them over the years and have been disappointed 2 out of 3 times. First time we pre-ordered a design and it took 3 months longer to arrive then they said it would, by that point it didn't fit anymore so was a waste of money. Second order was ok, no issues but I wasn't super impressed with the quality, luckily it was a light colour so I didn't see much fading in the few months we had it. The 3rd one was a nightmare, I paid extra for express delivery as we had lost our other pair at the pool and needed a new set within a week before we went on holiday. I emailed them as soon as I placed the order to request they please process it urgently. The email was ignored and after 2 days they still hadn't even shipped my order so I emailed again asking for an ETA as it was urgent. Got a reply a few days after that saying sorry we didn't see your emails and we also forgot to send it express but it's already been sent now so there's nothing we can do about it, they did refund the extra I paid for the express shipping though at least. That wasn't the end of the issues though, when we did finally get the bathers the quality was awful, they were black and they faded badly and the material all frayed after the first swim in them. All the tummy and arms area went from black to almost white, so they noticeably looked bad. I used them one more time after that and they got even worse so I ended up throwing them away as I was too embarrassed to have my son seen wearing them. They cost me $60 with shipping (they were on sale at the time tii). I ended up buying an $8 pair from kmart that were also black and it's been 6 months of use and they look the same as when I bought them so what does that say about their quality. I won't bother buying from them again, if I'm investing in the most expensive pair of kids bathers I could find, I expect top customer service and top quality, neither of which they supply

Scammy drop ship from china

Ordered in sept. 4 months later only 1 of the 5 items had arrived. They just drop ship from china. Had to file a charge back with bank to get a refund as they stopped replying to emails. Apparently they oversell the pre orders. Have finally got a refund.

Long shipping delays

Same issue as everyone else it seems. While I love the designs and colours its not worth the months of waiting for your order to arrive. Will definitely be looking elsewhere from now on.

They have changed their Facebook to private so that no negative comments can be received. The 3 most recent 5 star reviews have most likely been left by the owner in an attempt to bump up their star rating. The products themselves are not good quality. There are many fantastic Australian businesses to buy from. Avoid this company

I have been using cheeky chickadee…

I have been using cheeky chickadee bathers for the past 5 years we love them. The bathers last for such a long time and the patterns are so lovely.
I have found their communication to be amazing. I cannot wait to receive our new bathers!

Bright, colourful and great swimsuits!

So, I'm not sure why there's so many 1⭐️ reviews.. Cheeky Chickadee are amazing.
I bought my son his first two zip up, long sleeve swimming suits when he was 3 months old. Hes now 3 years old and only just outgrowing them.
So I purchased a new swim suit on pre-order the other week, and can't wait for it to arrive.
The material is soft and durable, bright coloured and super cute.
I'll keep buying from Cheeky Chickadee for as long as they keep making these adorable swim suits.
They're also very responsive with their customer service. Super polite and lovely to talk to.
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ 5 star review for this company, every day.

Amazing, stand out quality swimmers!

I have been buying bathers from Connie since my eldest was a little baby (so around 8 years) I love that she hand paints the designs, it makes each piece of clothing a work of art! We’ve always received so many compliments on our daughter’s bathers, and I always point them in Cheeky Chickadee’s direction! Over the 8 years we’ve bought 100’s of pieces, from bathers to raincoats, dresses, hat, leggings, jumpers, onesies, t-shirts.. the list goes on. I can tell you I’ve never had an issue with any of it and most pieces have been passed down to either my second daughter, friends or my nieces and nephews.
Their “Brights” collection is an investment in itself! I can go to a busy water park, resort or beach and easily spot my daughters in their matching bright swimmers! Hoping they extend the sizes so my eldest daughter can continue wearing for years to come! Highly recommend 🥰🙌🏼

Awful long to arrive

Honestly, they are cute, yes. Great colours, will be interesting how they go worn and washed. Ordered end of October. Nothing on the order that stated that there's such a long delay. Had to send emails to receive any communication from this company. Only arrived this week. These are made overseas. If you're going to dropship from other companies, don't state on your website that delivery will be within 5 days. Don't focus on their reviews on their website, they are hand picked... Look at the reviews on places like Google or trustpilot.

Unreliable Preorder and Unhelpful Customer Service

My experience with Cheeky Chickadee has been extremely disappointing. I placed a preorder that was advertised to ship the week beginning 10 November. That date came and went without any update sent to the email I used at checkout. I waited until early December before following up about the status of my order, and even then the business failed to respond until I sent multiple emails.

When they finally replied, I was told the reason I hadn’t received any updates was because I wasn’t subscribed to their marketing emails. This is not an acceptable explanation. Basic service updates should be sent directly to paying customers. Expecting people to opt into marketing in order to receive essential preorder information is unreasonable.

The advertised timeframe mattered because this item was purchased as a Christmas present. Instead of taking responsibility for missing their own shipping window, the business shifted blame onto me for not being on a subscription list and provided vague assurances about stock “flying in.”

To make matters worse, the polite comments I left on their Instagram and Facebook pages were deleted. Shortly after, I was blocked from their Facebook page entirely. Their justification was that negative comments attract more negativity and that social media is not a customer service channel.

I did eventually recieve confirmation that my order was cancelled and refund processed on the 5th of December.

What I encountered was slow communication, a failure to honour the advertised shipping timeframe, deflection of responsibility, and the removal and blocking of legitimate customer feedback. I would strongly encourage potential customers to think twice before ordering, especially if you need your items to arrive when promised.

Bought 18 Sept 2025 … still no item 10 weeks later

I bought last year, they came but they forgot to send my nephews togs. They did send when I followed up.

I tried ordering again.

The people working for this company seem nice, Alex, but the issue is they are selling a product and promising a product they just don’t have.

Maybe the company making cannot produce them? Maybe it’s too hard to run a shop selling kids togs.

I don’t know.

I bought togs for four kids on 18 September 2025. They said they will deliver 20 October 2025. I am now at 28 November and I have followed up so many times with no product still. I wish I had just bought somewhere else.

I think what has frustrated me the most is seeing the dates change on the website and no updates or comms. I unsubscribed from the marketing emails and they said this is why I didn’t get updates on my order.

I think if you are promising something you can’t just keep pushing the order date back.

Super love these swimmers!!!

Super love these swimmers! They are vibrant and easy to see in the water. I always get compliments on how great they look and I’ve got some for myself and 3 kids! I’d love the matchy matchy swimmers. The communication is great and they have made it easy when I’ve had to exchange sizes. I’ve bought more and can’t wait to get them. Definitely recommend this company if you want great swimmers and good service.

Would give zero stars if I could.
Essentially the same as everyone's experiences below, swimmers not shipped on time, and then after I had requested a refund 3 times, they totally ignored my request and shipped the items the week after I lodged a complaint with Fair Trading. I was given the exact same excuses - even down to the one about Paulina no longer working for the company. After I was finally able to get a response out of someone, Alex then provided me with return details for the items and said they would refund my postage costs as long as I provided them with a copy of my receipt.
I have returned my items, provided the receipt details and it's confirmed by Australia post that they have had the returned items for over 2 weeks. And surprise surprise, it's the exact same story - they are ignoring my emails following up on the refund I was supposed to receive after sending the items back.
HORRIFFIC customer service, a total rip off and now they have both my items (that I stupidly paid to return to them) and my money.
DO NOT BUY FROM THEM.

Update: the day I posted this review and submitted a charge back through my bank I miraculously heard from them and got a refund. Looks like they only take you seriously if you make enough noise about it in places someone might actually see you.

Still waiting…. 5 months later….* Update- 8 months waiting with no end in sight

Paid and ordered in MAY. Waited with changing ‘expected’ dates and limited email/support responses, with false promises made via email of issues and new delivery dates due to ‘staff changes’ and ‘warehouse issues’. Finally received SOME of my product in OCTOBER (5 months later) with parts of the order still missing. Now the process of lake of communication back from them and ghosting responses. Definitely embarrassing for an Aussie Company.

Update: it is now end of November…. Excuses, excuses, excuses. After emailing with a variety of staff this year and having multiple dates given for my paid items to be sent to me, ‘Alex’ has stated that I won’t be getting my pay order this year…. That’s over 8 MONTHS….and god knows into next year how many months more if I was to wait. I’ve bitten the bullet and stated that I want a refund… this is so disappointing. Would not recommend to anyone.

TOTAL SCAM

Wish I had seen these reviews before I ordered in June. It is now October and I still don't have the swimmers- I have followed up multiple times with Paulina and same as all others, it says it was sent but I never received it. I finally had to have Amex dispute the charges.

Same experience as everyone below. Have been requesting a refund for over a month as my child won’t fit the originally ordered size as it was 3 months ago and get no response. They finally responded and said Pauline was no longer with the company and my order magically got sent but am still waiting for it. Quite frustrating when you request a refund for a whole month before it’s sent and they send it anyway and you won’t be able to use the product. They are now making me pay for the postage to return the items before a refund can be processed. Honestly the worst customer service I have ever come across.
