If I could leave zero stars, complete scam
If I could leave zero stars, I would. Complete Scam, avoid Ricky and his company at all costs
This has been, without question, the worst contractor experience we have ever had.
We manage over 150 properties across London, so we work with trades and service providers constantly. We understand delays, we understand issues — what we do not understand is being overcharged, having to chase endlessly after payment has already been made, and effectively having to beg for works to be completed.
Communication was rude and unprofessional throughout. Commitments were not honoured, timelines were ignored, and standards fell far below what was agreed.
After years of operating at scale in the London property market, I can confidently say this is the most disappointing and poorly handled service we have encountered.
We will not be using this company again and strongly advise others to proceed with extreme caution.
Please, PLEASE nobody else fall for these SCAMMERS
Please - nobody else fall for this scam and use this company. We have and outstanding CCJ awarded against them for "work" performed last year - you're wasting your time going through Small Claims Court too, as they trade from a 'virtual' office and Mr Marcin Lukasz Mazurek, despite being all over Companies House (Town Force Ltd, I-Umbrella Ltd, Necessity 4 Ltd, Local Property Improvement Services Ltd), is a 'ghost'. He has just resigned as sole director of Central London Plumbers, but they continue to advertise and trade. No quotes given, money paid into different accounts, invoices in different company names - its all just a massive fraud. Ricky "I'm only here to answer the phone" is next to useless, but up to his neck in this 'scam' as well. Numerous breaches of both trading and company law are evident - just take a look at their website - no registered address, or VAT numbers listed - they'll also take a prepayment from your credit card, and charge fully for work (performed or not) WITHOUT your authorisation.
We now have Baillifs and Trading Standards involved, so hopefully "Marcin" and "Ricky" get what is coming their way. Police will be the next step for us. I have no idea how these guys are able to get away with this fraud for so long, and the amount of peeple they have managed to 'trap' is evident from the reviews below. All positive reviews are fake - easy to tell as some are based in other countries, or only have "1" review on Trustpilot..!
Also please avoid their 'sister' company "Town Force Ltd" - all part of the same group of scammers.
Got the job done

Very average service
Gosh only if I had read the reviews
Gosh only if I had read the reviews. These clowns double charged me almost 3 months ago. No action despite me calling every few days. I am now contemplating small claims court and will ask them to be wound up if they do not refund me. They can pay me and stop the hassle. I hate people like these and will take action all the way. That Ricky is a clown. 🤬
Scammers!
Scammers! I paid a 50% deposit of £210 over the phone for some double glazing units that were supposed to be installed the following week. On the day, no one turned up. I called to chase this up and was told that the glass they ordered was broken and they’d have to reorder it. I rang every week for an update but never received any information, invoices, email confirmations or anything that was in any way reassuring. Months later I still couldn’t get them to give me a date when the glass would arrive so eventually got fed up of calling and asked to cancel the order. It’s now been a month since I asked them to cancel the order and I still haven’t had a refund. I’m now trying to go via my credit card and the ombudsman to get my money back! Don’t use them, it’s not worth the hassle!
Do not give them your card details
Suspect company that operates under several names, Town Force, Emergency Glaziers, Central London plumbers. My mother asked them to have a look at an issue with the seal on her glazing, glazier turns up, doesn't take measurements, gets her to pay 50% deposit over the phone, without invoice, order confirmation, etc. £700 leaves her account immediately, she calls over the next couple of days to get invoice, but nothing so starts to get suspicious and decides to cancel the order. They say she can cancel, but she won't get her money back because they've apparently ordered the glass for a window they didn't measure. She calls her bank, they refund her while they go after central London plumbers, my mother thinks the issue is resolved until over a YEAR later when they take out two separate payments of over £1300 from her account.. wth!!
Rude customer service
I had an engineer out to look at my washing machine, who identified the problem and fixed it temporarily. I then had to buy the new parts myself (CLP sent me the link), which I was slightly surprised by, and then when they arrived the only engineer was on holiday so I had to go to another company. When the machine stopped working again shortly after I called CLP who blamed it on the other company, even though it was fixed according to their diagnosis. However I do understand that things get murky when there’s a third party, but the person I spoke to on the phone was extremely rude. He interrupted me again and again and had a very rude tone of voice. At one point he said ‘you might be the customer but that doesn’t mean you’re right’. I just needed my machine fixed and really am not interested in dealing with rudeness at 7.30 in the morning.
SCAM artists
Emailed from 'Proimprove.co.uk' - charged card as 'Central London Plumber' and operating as brand TownForce.
Not a legitimate operation as far as I can tell.
Background: I booked a contractor to come & measure up for window glass repair on 20th April - made payment for glass deposit by card. At no point was anything mentioned about 'No refund policy'.
Then called back to cancel as I was covered through insurance - and emailed this also - this was within an hour of paying so no contractor had come out as it had been booked for the next day. The chap (Ricky) confirmed refund will arrive within 7 days.
Nothing arrived and have been chasing numerous times and now the same chap claiming 'no refund policy'. They keep saying it will be passed onto the elusive 'Manager'.
Do business with this company at your own risk.
Town Force t/a Central London Plumbers…
Town Force t/a Central London Plumbers (Company number 13023355) have taken 2 unauthorized payments from our school! They initially came to fix a window issue at a school in Finchley just before Christmas 2021 and we have asked them on numerous occasions to get the invoice as we’d been charged £600+ and after a month we finally received it with no breakdown nor proper description of works done. The work was not done properly as we had the same issue in Jan 2022 and had to call them again. They said under their rectification policy, there will be no charge. The engineer came out twice (once when they knew the time was not suitable as children were in class) and the second time to re-fix the same issue. At no time, did they say it was a new problem and that we'd be charged. The 2 unauthorized payments of £100+ for coming out at an unplanned time and another £390+ to fix the initial problem were taken. We have called so many times, emailed them and they have never been able to give an answer other than ‘I will check with the engineer’. We have emailed and there has been no acknowledgement of receipt nor a reply. I plan to report them further as I don’t want this happening to anyone else.
THEY WILL TAKE YOUR MONEY WITHOUT SENDING INVOICE OR COMPLETING WORK
I needed my front window taken out to fit my sofas into my home. 2 Central London Plumbers glaziers came and removed window. I was charged £500+. The glaziers did not seal the window from inside and told me I had to seal window myself. So what am I paying for? I am not a glazier!
A few weeks pass and I realise I can not open my window! I called back the company and arranged for someone to come and finish their job by sealing window and to find out why my window would not open.
He arrived (after not coming on first appointment) glanced and said he does not know why it won't open. And did not even seal back the window from his incomplete job the 1st time around. I was charged another £100+
DO NOT USE THEM FOR BIG JOBS. THEY WILL TAKE YOUR MONEY AND NOT DO THE JOB PROPERLY!!
Reasonable rate
I have always found this company to be helpful and have always answered any questions I have had and given good advice. They arrive on time every time. They did a few odd jobs around my flat at a reasonable rate. Thank you Would recommend to anyone needing work done.
Fast service, job complete
Quick to book in and send out a plumber for an issue with my toilet. The plumber they sent out was polite, explained the issue and fixed it within 45 minutes, as well as giving me advice on what to do/ say if it happens again. Quite expensive, but not extortionate for a fast call out in London.

I found the price of £523 to replace an immersion heater grossly expensive.
Shoddy work, complete fraudsters
We booked through what is probably 1 of many names Clapham Handyman in our case but transaction goes to Central London Plumbers.
My wife booked them and handed over credit card details which should be the biggest alarm bell that you should walk away. Booked to replace bath seal.
Day 1 turned up - spent 5mins removing seal and left site
Day 2 turned up - here for c.45mins replacing seal which broke within a few days.
Charged £360 for this, received no invoice, they won't give money back or send someone to sort the issue, so I had no option but to raise a fraud review with my credit card company

I had a similar experience to TW,of the plumber running out of the house, but in my case he was in the middle of a job!He just quietly took his tools, left the house and drove away. Then the call centre rang to say,get a new boiler, and quickly put through a hefty charge to my card.Do not use these people, and certainly do not hand over your card details.
Excellent Service from CLP
I have read the negative reviews regarding CLP and so I thought as I have just had an interaction with them I should leave a review. Whilst there is no need to go into the specific details of my issue, I wanted to write about my experience. I called CLP and spoke with Ricky. I explained my situation (calmly and nicely) with Ricky who understood my plight and circumstances and decided to immediately resolve the issue outstanding. I was and am overwhelmed by Ricky's KINDNESS and understanding. There was no arguing or shouting, just a quiet and professional exchange of opinions. While I cannot comment on other people's experiences, Ricky treated my issue with care, sympathy and compassion. On the basis of this interaction I would return to CLP should I require their services. I was very impressed with how Ricky helped me. Ricky, THANK YOU and bless you
worst experience possible
Be aware of this company - they book appointments quickly, come very late , stay for a little while in order take your credit card payment and dont do anything .I booked a 1 hour appointment last week as both bathtubs were not draining. A man completely dirty and smelling of sweat showed up 3 hours late at around 10:30 pm and rang the bell 5 times, waking up the entire family. The plumber had only a plunger in hand spent 20 minutes doing what we are already tried to do. He had no other equipment . After achieving nothing and having credit card charged £161, I spoke their office and complained about his arrival time and his 20 minutes of doing nothing and a woman named Jo called me a liar 3 times. Shocking. I spoke to another person who agreed to have the plumber come back at no extra charge the following day with the correct equipment. Another man came the next day 4 hours late with now only a plunger and One shot liquid - not even a metal worm. He spent 10 minutes. and charged £171 on my card automatically without achieving anything. i asked them to refund me at least the first appointment and they refused. There website looks professional with a guarantee policy but they are not a company to be trusted at all. Be aware
Rip off merchants. Avoid like the plague.
Having returned to my London flat after a long absence in France, I discovered that my en suite shower was not working. After a little bit of fiddling about intended to facilitate an examination of the cartridge I failed in my attempt to remove the control knows, vital for this process.
I called an organisation purporting to be Blackheath Plumbers for a non-urgent appointment and was told that they would attend two days later, charging me £120+ VAT an hour - already an exorbitant but usual sum. When the confirmatory email came it was from Central London Plumbers.
The plumber duly arrived, concluded that he had to remove the knobs, and failed to do so, explaining that the Allen screw retaining the temperature control knob had a damaged head. He returned to his truck several times to fetch tools he had not brought with him to the flat from his van, adding to the time taken.
Finally, after about two hours spent removing the knobs, he decided he had to visit a plumbers supply shop to acquire a set of ring spanners which he had failed to bring with him. This took at least one hour. Having finally returned suitably armed with the correct tools he miraculously discovered within two minutes that the problem was simply a blocked feed to the shower head. Resolving the problem was a simple matter of unscrewing the shower head and then the pipe, and applying a little air pressure with the breath. No work at all.
For this I have been charged for three hours work - which includes the shop visit - a sum of £432.00.
Surely a qualified plumber should have performed a proper diagnostic examination starting from the shower head.
I have written to the Observer and am involving Citizens' Advice, but warn everyone else not to use these (in my opinion) criminals.
Bad company- do not use or you WILL waste £
Scam. This company operate under several names. I booked a quote for my windows, which need the glazing repaired. They stated if the engineer quoted more than their initial quote and I don't want to go ahead, I can get a refund. The engineers quote was far greater than the original quote. I have been calling them every other day, for weeks, regarding getting my deposit back and they give me excuses after excuses.
