I visited the Chantilly location on 12/19/10 for review of my computer that was not working (invoice #26995). The charged me $89 to tell me the reason it was not working is that a $20 part Cedar PC had sold me a couple of weeks earlier was defective. Quite a scam they have going. Sell a bad part then charge $89 to tell you the part was bad.

I got charged a 15% restock fee on a defective item I talked to John the owner he said he would get it back to me that was a lie I want my 82.50 back I will never shop with them I will tell everyone to never shop with them I rather pay full price at Best Buy or somewhere else and get a good working item

I discovered the site while looking for a laptop as I was starting college. I was impressed by the price and decided to try it out. Not only was the price amazing, but the people I emailed a few times were very friendly and knowledgeable. I highly recommend this place!

I bought a Dell Inspiron 530 desktop for $130 and it works great. Can't ask for more.

So many things went wrong with my transaction that I won't bog you down with all the details, but what it boils down to is that they don't value their customers.

The management, John Vong, informed me that rather than offer some kind of compensation for selling me a defective product, an imac with a nonfunctional optical drive, he would just refund me my money because the computer would be worth more to CedarPC as spare parts than repair it for me.

WHO DOES THIS?!?

#1) How hard is it to test whether a drive works or not? All you have to do in put in a CD. You don't even need a GED to do that...

#2) I'm glad that CedarPC can still make a profit from this, but what about the me? What about the customer who paid for a fully functional computer? TOUGH LUCK!

I'm not a difficult guy and realistically, I know that they were not going to pay for a repair, but come on!

He claims he couldn't part with any money because CedarPC is just an employee run small business, and that it would close them down if they did that for everybody. Because, you know, I wouldn't know how it feels to stay afloat in this economy since I too am a small business owner...

And really? Does this happen to you guys at CedarPC that often? You sell defective products and won't fix them if it hurts your pocket?

And if that is the case, would it kill you to give me discount? Since, I don't know, WHAT YOU SOLD ME DOESN'T WORK!?!

So what it boils down to is that John Vong couldn't part with a measely $50 to repair a $160 CD drive. Which brings me leaves me here.

CedarPC believes:
PROFIT > CUSTOMER SATISFACTION

Companies like this give internet stores a bad wrap and how they have managed to stay open is beyond me.

So I hope this helps anyone else contemplating buying from these guys because it's great if what you buy works, but beware if it doesn't- you are on your own.
