Brilliant all round! We live in Devon and couldn’t find anyone to fix roof problem on my c200in the county except a Mercedes main dealer at three times the cost charged by Cayman! Courteous, thorough and a pleasure to deal with. If you have a mechanical roof issue Cayman highly recommended

I had problems with My BMW Z4 metal folding roof not operating and getting stuck partly open. I live in north Kent and found out about Cayman autos in Redhill on Z4 websites, and booked my car in for repair. I went there yesterday(8:30am), fault was diagnosed within probably an hour, broken wires and switches et cetera, and repaired for pick up by 2 pm.
All staff were pleasant and very helpful, and although expensive I can now use my car with an open top.
Also I noticed many different makes of car there for roof repair/service.
I can thoroughly recommend them.

I just want to say a big thank you to Cayman Autos — and to Leah in particular. I’m not usually someone who books anything quickly; normally I spend weeks trawling the internet, reading every review ever written, comparing options, overthinking… and then overthinking some more.

Very friendly staff, correctly identified and fixed my leaking roof issue. dropped me off and picked me up from the train station, even made me a coffee.

Did a great job of my vario roof on my SLK, very happy with the work and extremely cost effective in comparison to the eye watering dealer cost. I even ventured out in this weekends monsoon without even a hint of a leak.

Communication also excellent.

Cayman have looked after my R230 Mercedes SL for a few years now. They're super meticulous with details and the car always comes back feeling refreshed. Cannot recommend them highly enough. From the office team to the guys on the workshop floor, everyone is friendly and professional the their work is first class.

Having had terrible trouble with condensation,damp and even MOULD in my EOS .....Cayman Auto Service sorted it like new!!! And they were very good at keeping me informed as to exactly what it would cost. Lovely people :D

These people know exactly what they are doing! My car is 20 years old. Without their expertise, it would be an old car. A convertible without a function hood is just a mobile skip!

From initial diagnosis to fixing the problem on my Mercedes convertible, the whole experience was like being looked after by a long established family firm.
The receptionist set the tone and on arrival we were warmly greeted and had the whole process explained. The estimate of cost and timing were kept to the T and throughout we met friendliness, professionalism, competence, knowledge and a desire to solve the problem. I can thoroughly recommend Cayman and will certainly return if I have any further problems.

We had the misfortune of a stone chip cracking the panoramic sunroof on our Mercedes SLK. We had a repair along a 12” crack line and it held for 18 months just fine but the point of impact was rather unsightly and possibly made the car unsellable in the future. Mercedes dealers were really unhelpful, they just never came back with a proper quote to supply and fit and when we finally did get one it was £3,840 for the roof and £1,900 for the labour (mental)! I located a very good secondhand roof from a breakers and was fortunate to find Cayman autos fully experienced in fitting it at a fraction of the labour cost. They really know what they are doing and to mitigate for future leakage issues that could arise they swapped my existing colour matched roof side trims as part of an upgraded sealing method they have conducted on many other SLKs. From start to finish Leah and Maddie were absolutely brilliant in telling me what they would be doing and giving me complete confidence in Cayman Autos expertise. On arrival we met the technician who specialises in these cars and the shop manager for the handover, they kept the car for a few days I believe for the resins and sealants to cure and when we picked the car up it looked perfect all round. This is a business that prides itself on good old fashioned decent service, sensible pricing and excellent customer relations, how refreshing in these times. Thank you so much for giving us back our pride and joy like new again, I would strongly recommend Cayman Autos to anyone who might find themselves in this same predicament.

I don’t normally leave reviews but after using the services of Cayman Autos I felt I had to. The team there were very efficient and transparent throughout the process of repairing the hood of my 911. They were very understanding and flexible with regard to the cars collection as well which in my particular circumstances was much appreciated. Thank you Cayman Autos!

Not a single drop of water ingress. You were right, it wasn't the gullies, it wasn't the mechanism, the fabric just need reproofing and now it's beading beautifully.

I have had my 1999 Mercedes SLK R170 with roof issues where the parcel shelf cables and brackets were damaged so not operating.
I contacted Cayman and they have been absolutely brilliant in being able to resolve this,
Talking to Maddie on initial contact to arrange a diagnosis, where I travelled to them, most accommodating as I work shifts. Arrived early, which was not an issue, Keith the Manager inspected the car and gave me an estimate,which was very competitive. This took less time than expected. Bonus.
I was then kept fully informed of the time when the parts were delivered, and again they worked with me to fix a date to carry out the work. Above and beyond.
On the day of the fix, I travelled to drop the car, then came home. As I was travelling back on the train to collect,the communication was excellent so as I arrived at Redhill station I was met and driven to Cayman. Keith ensured the job was completed and showed me the repair and wished me happy top down motoring.

Absolutely amazing! I took my rather sad (but loved) Z4 to Caymans and was absolutely amazed by their professionalism and knowledge. My Z4 roof wouldn't go down, there was water sitting towards the rear of the car, and also a leak above the drivers door. Within a couple of hours they had diagnosed the problems and 3 days later I got my car back with what looked like a new (and working) roof!! They explained everything along the way, with an excellent handover on pick up. I am absolutely thrilled! ...and really grateful :)

My Audi TT roof was coming away from the rear window , no company locally would repair just said it would need a new roof. I found Cayman online and they fixed it no problem, looks good as new. It was well worth the 2 x 4.5 hr round trip from Hertfordshire. The staff were all really friendly, offered me tea and a lift to and fro the station. I can't recommend them highly enough, certainly saved me a lot of money by not having to pay for a new roof. Customer service was top class from start to finish.

Following up after the reply by Cayman.

No you didn't complete a free visual inspection, we paid £80 + vat (£96) for a full diagnosis.

Again you miss the whole point, we left with a roof in worse condition than when it came in to you.

We didn't have any front leaks whatsoever, we did when we left!

It was a given that we had mechanical roof issues but no leaks into the car, the leaks we had were boot related which I'm to believe is a common fault on the VW Eos.

So to double down if your unsure why I'm writing this review and follow up:

YOU messed the roof up, prior to your investigation there were no cabin leaks - After was a different matter, the car leaks like a sieve.

Own it and stop posting cover your backside replies, it's embarrassing.

Appalling Service!

Took our car in for diagnosis and quote, quote came back twice the value of the car and no guarantee paying £2.5k would get the roof working.

Quote was outrageous but you either accept it or you don't, But - Now the roof leaks which it didn't before, called for an explanation and maybe a tip to stop the leak and was met with deflection & Confusion - no help whatsoever.

No doubt Cayman fix roofs but in this instance they made the situation worse, no remorse just deflection.

Good luck if you engage them for your clam-shell roof repair!

Outstanding job on my C63 S Convertible. Mercedes wanted an arm and two legs to fix the broken cords that hold the folding roof mechanism together, but Cayman Autos provided a massively more reasonable solution and the job was completed perfectly. All the staff were excellent, informative and very helpful from start to finish so I would thoroughly recommend them.

One small bit of advice if you're waiting there for the day to have your work carried out: Stay out of Wetherspoons in the town centre ;-) I'm still getting over the ordeal.
