We turned up as a group of 10 giving the pub about 30 minutes notice but the pub rose to the occasion. The waitress was so pleasant and friendly. The food was cooked fresh but we weren't in a hurry. My husband ate what he called "The best hunters chicken he's ever had". He was able to congratulate the chef. I had scampi but everyone was pleased with their meal. The only thing was one of our party had to wait a little while for her jacket potato but it wasn't a problem. A little gem on our brief visit to this charming village and one which deserves support .

We stayed for 3 nights at Castle Inn. Arriving in a heatwave, we found of standard room far too hot and were immediately upgrade to a cooler but much larger room at the rear of the hotel. The bed was king size and beautifully comfortable. We were impressed with the level of detail - white towelling robes, Tea making tray, a separate seating area to watch tv. The bathroom was huge with bath and walk in shower, all spotlessly clean. We enjoyed the pool and spa facilities as well as the beautiful gardens. The grass tennis court and putting green was an extra bonus. Staff are helpful and friendly. Food was lovely - a choice of hot or cold buffet for breakfast and evening meals freshly cooked to order. Our only complaint was the dessert menu. Portions were tiny {cheesecake} and the Eton mess disappointing - a ready made meringue nest, 1 chopped strawberry and a cumquat in gloopy cream, drizzled with red jus was a let down. Nevertheless, we enjoyed our stay and would certainly return to this hotel.

Amazing service. Neat and clean Environment.

I stayed at this hotel for a night as a stopover before heading to Arundel for atraining course. The staff were friendly and helpful, which made for a lovely experience. The room was very comfortable, with a large bed and plenty of hot water. It was also quiet and relaxing, allowing for a good night's sleep. the breakfast was satisfying, and the tea and coffee supply was excellent.

Had a great night sleep at this clean, tidy, comfortable Hotel is well placed if visiting this part of the South Downs Park.
The character of the "olde" building has been kept with all the needs of modern life adding to the quirkiness of a stay at the Castle Inn.
The newly built large Restaurant has bee sympathetically done and adds to the experience of your stay BUT...
The highlight of your stay is to be greeted for Breakfast by Lois & Debbie, who are always smiley and bubbly with nothing being too much trouble for them, they add that special touch to make your stay very personal for you... Every Hotel should have a pair like them, they made my stay excellent!

Very good and inexpensive Pub Hotel, comfortable rooms and excellent food and drinks reasonably priced. Excellent breakfast and well looked after by happy and friendly staff particularly Lois and Mary.
The Inn is well situated with good road links, making it ideal an ideal base.
