Massive price increase + drop in quality + digestive issues
I've been buying the premium protein isolate from this company for a good number of years, and it had always been great. However, there have been two large price increases over the last year and a bit. I was able to stomach the first because I like the product and I'm happy to support a Canadian company. After the second large increase, and a noticeable drop in product quality I've stopped purchasing it.
An email went out stating that prices would need to increase again, but no actual percentage or pricing information is given. A few days later my order was set to renew I had checked the website and again it did not show what the new price would be. I woke up the morning of the order date, and saw the large increase in price. I attempted to cancel the order but their site conveniently kept glitching out. Based on the time that these orders get automatically processed, and due to time zone difference there's no opportunity to cancel the order how convenient...
The second and more serious problem would be the drop in quality. The last batch that we got my wife noticed that it wasn't mixing as well and had a very different appearance and texture. I figured maybe just some change in supplier and it's not anything to worry about, boy was I wrong... I started getting serious gastrointestinal issues and I've never had a problem with this product in the past it's always been very gentle on my stomach. I went over my full diet with my doctor and it was a no brainer that this stuff was causing the issue. I stopped ingesting it, and within a few days my stomach problems had stopped. I thought maybe I had just recieved a bad batch, but the product didn't show signs of spoilage.
I had recently tried ordering from them again to see if there had been any change with the product. I believe in giving people and companies a second chance, this was a mistake. Within two days of taking the isolate again I was right back to having stomach problems. I've since changed to another company and haven't had any issues.

Each ticket that was opened was closed automatically, and they never actually addressed that their product was never delivered. By far the worst customer support, and they actually try to solve a support ticket that was a recurring $200. Basically lost $200.
An update on my end. They did reach out after seeing this review and they did address my issue. They issued a refund for the product that was not delivered.
Twice the price hikes, half the service. No longer worth it.
Update: Since posting, Canadian Protein has attempted to have this review deleted—a move that is blatantly deceitful considering they publicly replied to it and confirmed my order details. They would clearly rather silence customers than address their logistics failures.
To prove their "weather and carrier" excuses are just noise: I recently ordered from another Ontario-based company and received my package in 5 days. Canadian Protein took 11 days. It is clear they choose the cheapest, slowest fulfillment options while charging you premium prices. They have your money; they don’t care about your experience.
Canadian Protein has lost its way. In the last 10 months, they’ve hit customers with two price increases, yet the service quality has plummeted.
My orders are constantly stalled by UPS with "weather" excuses, yet I’ve received FedEx packages from the same area (Mississauga) a day early. It’s a pathetic excuse for poor logistics. To make matters worse, their support doesn't actually help—it feels like once they’ve processed your payment, they have zero interest in whether the product actually reaches you.
I’m canceling my subscription immediately. You’re better off supporting local stores than paying premium prices for a company that fails this badly at basic fulfillment.

Shockingly Terrible customer service
Terrible customer service, terrible response times, and hard to trust the quality of the product. I’ve given them many tries but they have proven they don’t care about the customer. At one point, they had sent me packaging that said sweetened with sucralose on an unflavoured protein. I raised this with them and how concerning that was (and probably some kind of health violation) and they brushed it off and did nothing for me. Another time, they shipped me the wrong product, and it took about a week after multiple emails for anyone to respond. Once they did, I got boilerplate and confusing emails from a staff member who said that my package they was in mid shipment could not be refunded, followed by different messages from another staff member. Not only that, they have since raised their prices to the point where even bulk protein is not well priced. They have lost a longstanding customer over their poor and embarrassing level of customer service. It’s clear that these guys only care about number of purchases but not ensuring the customers are well taken care of.

"it's fine, everything is fine" meanwhile it's a gross mess
Ordered product that was on sale, all of it was impossible to mix. Turned into a chalky, gross thick paste. More water didn't fix the problem. I made two claims, and it took them over 3 weeks to get back to me, only to say they tested a "retained" sample of what they sent me and "it's fine" and then they got condescending and pedantic on me and tried to tell me how to mix it. I've had orders from them before, but I'll never order again. I requested a refund for this product, was willing to send it back to them (not at my cost) and they have basically given me the run around and then this bullshit response that doesn't fix my issue at all. I've now had to spend MORE money on OTHER protein products just to have my meals covered, and these asshats truly won't do anything to help anyone. BUYER BEWARE.

Non-existent Customer Service... unfortunate
Canadian Protein used to be great to deal with but not any more. Numerous emails sent for a lost UPS package and no responses for weeks. Cancelled my subs and am now purchasing elsewhere. Unfortunate that the company would let it go this way.

Deceiving company
am writing this as a warning to others regarding Canadian Protein’s deteriorating quality and deceptive subscription practices. After being a loyal customer, the "final straw" was their failure to honour their own subscription terms and their blatant dishonesty when confronted.
1. Subscription & Price Traps: I signed up for a subscription that explicitly promised a locked-in price (pre-COVID rates). Not only did they eventually force a price increase, but their system is designed to penalize you. If your chosen flavour goes out of stock and you try to swap it, the system resets your "locked" price to the current, much higher market rate. They make it incredibly difficult to manage a subscription without losing your original deal.
2. Poor Quality & Indifferent Service: I have reached out multiple times via email regarding noticeable issues with the quality of the protein itself. The responses were dismissive and clearly from staff who do not care about customer retention or product integrity.
3. Deceptive Conduct (BBB): When I escalated this to the Better Business Bureau, Canadian Protein’s response was a flat-out lie. They claimed my subscription had been inactive for years to avoid addressing the price-lock issue. I provided the BBB with screenshots of my active account proving they were lying, but because the BBB has no enforcement power, the company simply walked away from their mistake.
Bottom line: This company does not value loyalty and will provide false information to oversight bodies to save a few dollars. Proceed with caution—there are better brands in Canada that actually respect their customers and their own contracts
