I appreciated the assistance and advice offered by Mo, and the help he offered to maneuver through the determination of a delivery date. I had just suffered a flood and had to coordinate with workers in my house. Dan followed up and helped solve a possible leak. All is well. I will always shop at CAS.

On June 13th, 2026, we attended the Canadian Appliance Source (CAS) at 1847 Merivale Road, Ottawa, where we purchased a Panasonic Microwave and trim kit from salesperson Marc.

The salesman told me that the items would be arriving in 10 to 14 days and we actually had to wait until July 15th, 2026 when they were finally delivered. We were without a microwave for that entire period.

On July 16th I attempted to set up the microwave. Upon opening the microwave box, it appeared to me that this item was a previous return as the styrofoam packaging appeared broken with missing pieces, and there was no protective coating on the microwave. I attempted to set up the microwave and discovered that the door would not open (even with the power off). I visited the Panasonic website and tried to troubleshoot the issue on my own with no success.

I then contacted the CAS after-care help line and after some back and forth with the representative was given an email address to submit my request for a return. I submitted an email only to have it bounce back as undeliverable (no such address). I then called the CAS after-care helpline a 2nd time and spoke with a different representative. After again going back and forth with the issue with the microwave door not opening, I was given a different email address to submit my request for a return. This email also bounced back as undeliverable (no such address). At no time has the after care department attempted to help us with this item.

After being completely frustrated with the deplorable customer care service I decided to reach out to Panasonic directly. I was unable to reach anyone directly by phone, and so I utilized the live chat and was able to converse with Katie. I explained the situation to her and we went back and forth over the malfunctioning door. At the conclusion she advised that she was going to escalate the situation with Panasonic.

I left messages (both voice-mail and email) for the salesman who I dealt with for the purchase. He did not respond to all of my attempts to contact him. On July 17th, 2026 I attended the CAS store with the defective microwave in the original box and spoke directly with the salesman. He indicated that he was unable to facilitate an exchange and that there were no managers working. He gave me another email address and indicated that he would be emailing head office directly to assist with expediting my refund, as he advised this would be the best option. Seeing that we have been without a microwave for over a month, with no confidence of getting one any time soon from CAS, we purchased a microwave from Costco, where the product was readily available.

We have been receiving emails from “Paul” in the supposed managers aftercare department of CAS, for the last two weeks, quite frankly with the absolute lack of progress with this matter I question if Paul is even a real person. The time to discuss an exchange or repair of the microwave should have occurred during our initial contact, not over a week later and after being given the run around. This company forgets that there are hardworking people who have put their faith in their company at the end of these phone calls and emails.

On July 29th, a third party technician working on behalf of Panasonic Warranty Department attended our home to diagnose the issue with our microwave. The technician verified that the microwave is in fact defective, has never been used and requires a new power Control Board and Magnetic Door Lock. The technician was unable to open the microwave door as well. He indicated that with the cost of today’s service call amount, the parts and the additional service call to replace the parts , that the cost would well exceed what the initial cost of a new microwave.

To say that we have been given the run around by these two companies is a gross understatement. We are very disappointed with this dishonest company filled with institutional incompetence, and we will continue to warn others not to shop at Canadian Appliance Source.

We are looking to return both the microwave and trim kit for a full refund.

We ordered this from you on June 13th and as of today, July 29th we still do not have a working microwave or a resolution from this company. Thank goodness we went to Costco a few days ago and purchased one. This company does not care about you!

This time we were there for a very simple thing. To buy a small 18 cubic feet fridge/freezer for our basement as replacement for similar appliance that was over 40 years old. We used the same sales representative as we did before Christmas when we bought a whole suite of appliances for our kitchen. His work was pretty easy this time since we already knew what you wanted to buy. His contribution was to do the transaction. Nothing else, and to set up delivery, of course. However, delivery was subpar, compared to the service we got before Christmas for our kitchen appliances. The fellow that delivered the fridge downstairs, just left it there unplugged with the cord hidden underneath with the handles still in the fridge taped to something. I had to ask him to install the handles on the door and to tell me where the plug and the user manual were. They were hidden inside the fridge on the back. He reluctantly agreed to install the door handles, but he did it backwards. I pointed that out to him, but he refused to change it. I didn’t mess up after you left. One good thing about this whole thing was speed. We wanted a fridge and they had one in stock, and we had it delivery very quickly. It happened on time and on schedule. So, nothing to complain about , except for the sloppy service after my new fridge was dropped off in my basement the basement. The four stars rating is for the speed and timelines.
