Possibly the most Incompetent company i…

Possibly the most Incompetent company i have ever delt with in all my years in the building industry. I have had damage on my house and after a lowball offer and refusing to settle. I challenged them to do a second survey that was far different to the first .to be told by rude staff that I don't know the industry. Then they appointed a build who quoted 3 times the second quote . Total joke of a company do not trust or use it will be nothing but headaches and pain .8 months in still no work started but a more rapid company who has moved at great pace to get things resolved.

BVS is a company employed by the Halifax to avoid payment of legitimate home insurance claims!!!

BVS is a company employed by the Halifax to write fictitcious surveys in order to avoid paying out on insurance claims and I have to say they do this very well. The Halifax must be delighted to have such a company at their disposal, saving them a significant amount of money by avoiding the payment of perfectly legitimate home insurance claims!

Unfortunately Admiral insurance use…

Unfortunately Admiral insurance use these people and their “expertise” to assess for insurance claims. During recent storm, two of our tiles were dislodged on our roof, we only became aware of this when water poured in through our bedroom ceiling and fitted wardrobes when it rained. The wood in the wardrobes swelled up with the water and started to smell as did the carpet. We removed the wardrobes, wrong thing to do! The surveyor “you can’t claim for wardrobes no proof of existence” “anyone could say they had a Lamborghini but they hadn’t ” “people think they can claim on insurance for anything but they can’t”. He then proceeded to tell me my roof had wear and tear (it’s 88 year old slate). Whilst I agree there are some areas need attention but nothing that would cause the tiles to become dislodged. My roofer confirmed that it was the dislodged tiles that allowed ingress of that amount of water, not good enough for the “surveyor”. Oh and the tiles when put back in place fixed the leak! Next statement from surveyor “you had the roof repaired so can’t prove the tiles were dislodged” so can’t claim for that, he was rude, patronising and arrogant. Report stated he did not believe it was storm damage! Basically calling me a liar and the roofer. I have complained to both Admiral and this company, I don’t hold any hope for a satisfactory conclusion, I just wanted to make people aware. Don’t get rid of the damage, don’t repair the leak just wait endless amount of time for them to make something up to avoid the insurance company paying out. He will get paid though sad world we live in. No point having insurance.

Absolustely disgusting fraudsters who…

Instead of assessing properly they made up speculative nonsense, sent blank reports and stole very old images from google streetview screenshotted on the surveyors phone insted of using photos of the actual property. Their idea of a settlement was less than a quarter of the true cost, and they suggested to "patch up" water damaged flooring rather than replace in line with my policy. Slow to no replies, and awful to deal with. I have had to take the matter further. Not surprised to see the shocking reviews. Beware they go under various names and keep re-branding.

Terrible from start to finish

Terrible from start to finish. If you can avoid you should but unfortunately they’ll be the loss adjuster appointed by the insurance company your claim is with so you’re stuck with them. They are there to offer as little as possible and ideally (at least for them) nothing at all.

A total waste of time waiting in for such a horrible company to visit and make an ‘assessment’, more so as I thought they were there to help.

Excellent Service from Davies aka BVS

Davies aka BVS
This is the first time I’ve ever had to claim on my house insurance (Direct Line) who work with Davies. My case manager Alisha Evans was so helpful, kind, efficient and knowledgeable. I found the portal the company use a bit confusing until I got used to in. Having someone as efficient as Alisha helped me greatly especially when the whole process is so stressful. She always replied promptly to my questions and found information out when I needed it. Great communication from the whole team.

Mark Bove

I recently had a challenging experience with my claim between Churchill and BVS, but I want to highlight the exceptional service provided by Manager Mark. Despite the overall process being less than ideal, Mark truly went above and beyond to move things forward given the complexity of my case. He was efficient, professional, and empathetic, always ready to pick up the phone and provide regular updates. Even after everything was settled, he followed up to ensure I was happy with the outcome. I cannot thank Mark enough for his dedication and great service.
I would also like to extend a huge thank you to the surveyor who conducted the second visit (apologies for not recalling his name). His visit was marked by impressive attention to detail and thorough problem-solving.
Overall, while the broader experience may have been challenging, the commitment and professionalism of the team members like Mark made all the difference. Thank you, Mark Bove for your support.

Damage assessed via Google Maps!!

Our greenhouse was damaged during the recent storms so we made a claim. It was assessed by one of their surveyors on a visit and he agreed that was a valid claim and said he would instruct the insurers to issue payment ( with policy excess this amounted to £601). We then received a call from a Stephanie from BVS to say the claim had gone through. The surveyor said to expect payment within 7-10 days. Had nothing after three weeks so I contacted the Insurance company. (Home Protect). They said that BVS had mentioned that they thought that outbuilding cover was undervalued so they were re-assessing the claim. This was not mentioned by the surveyor at the time ( the outbuilding cover was £20k). I contacted Stephanie who was not at all helpful and said that she had phoned us to tell me about this, she didn’t, she just told us that the report had gone to the Insurance company . She then said that another surveyor based in the office had looked on google maps and decided that the outbuildings were under valued. ( we have a small shed and a garage) She would not give me any information about what figure this office bound google map surveyor had valued the outbuildings at. I said I wished to make a formal complaint about her being untruthful and unhelpful but she said I couldn’t make a complaint about her or BVS. Certainly will not be re insuring with Home Protect and will be contacting the Ombudsman about BVS, what a dishonest and unhelpful company

Unqualified staff

Shocking company. Their staff have no professional qualifications and questionable competence. They will make assertions regarding the condition of your property that cannot be evidence and use this as a basis for declining cover. After several months I was able to prove the deficiencies in their work via the Ombudsman however Davies hid behind the insurer and took no accountability.

GDPR SHOULD BE RESPECTED NOT ABUSED…

They are a contractor to an insurance company and they go and break GDPR rules but they aren’t bothered. I for one won’t let this drop and intend fighting it all the way. They say they will call back but don’t all in all a shambles in with the insurance company Halifax avoid both firms if you can more to follow

If i Could give less that one star

If i could give less that one star i would.

This company will give you the run-around and change the reasons they don't want to pay you all the time. Zero communication, you will have to do all the chasing and under no circumstances will they give you anything in writing.

Might as well call the Ombudsman before you deal with these people, worst service and treatment of any company i have ever experienced.

Treated like a human being by humans.

Entering an insurance claim nowadays usually results in being made to feel guilty until proven innocent, however the use of this independent company has had the opposite effect. The gentleman that called was helpful in the extreme, and ultimately led us through the process to ensure that our claim was accepted with no queries (not that there should have been any). Once everything was available in terms of quotes etc. payment was very quick.

Friendly and professional

Mark Smith, the surveyor who came to verify and record the damage, was incredibly helpful and explained any questions we had regarding the process in a simple and professional manner. He assisted us in making the process as seamless and stress free as possible and we are very grateful for that. All in all, we had a very positive experience.

Avoid like the plague

Avoid like the plague! BVS are employed by insurance companies to validate an insurance claim.
But instead off addressing the claim they are only interested in under cutting the claim. In my case the validator was incapable of interpreting the quotes provided, this was evident from the number of basic questions asked. They work of a tick list if the claim does not fit easily fit into this list they reject it with no reason, technical or otherwise. I will be reporting both the companies (MORE THAN and BVS) to the insurance ombudsman as well as writing to Which the consumer champion.
If you find yourself having to make a claim ensure you get everything in writing or else you will find yourself in the situation he said she said.

Poor service

have been a loyal customer of Direct Line for 7 years, consistently paying my insurance premiums. However, when it came to needing support for a home issue, I was left extremely disappointed.

We experienced an unexpected leak in our bathroom, which damaged the ceiling in our garage. This required us to remove tiles from our bathroom wall to locate the leak. Our claim was outsourced to a company called Building Valuation Solutions (BVS), and from that point on, it has been a nightmare.

Despite BVS claiming a 48-hour turnaround time, it took them 7 days to respond initially. When they finally did, they requested additional information and quotes, which we promptly provided. Now, 6 weeks since the leak started, we still have not received any reimbursement or payment for the repair costs. Instead, we are continually asked for more details and breakdowns, causing unnecessary delays and frustration.

The customer service has been appalling, and I strongly advise anyone considering Direct Line Insurance to read customer feedback carefully. You might end up in a situation like ours, where you are left without the support you need and your repairs remain unpaid.
