Ordered the employmCompletely wrong jurisdiction guides sent outent law bundle back…
Ordered the employment law bundle back in March and the materials they sent were for an entirely different legal framework. Called to sort it out and was passed between three different people who all gave me conflicting information. Nobody could tell me what size of practice these guides were even calibrated for. Absolute waste of money.
Johnathan Ditchburn was very helpful
Johnathan and his team sorted out my personal injury claim after a RTC and I couldn’t be more happy with the communication while the case went to and the final result. I would definitely recommend Johnathan to help with anyone’s injury claim.
Please avoid at all costs
Please avoid at all costs, they are acting as conveyancing solicitors for my buyer. They take a week to pass on information from the buyer to my solicitor when a quick reply is crucial to keep agreed exchange/completion dates which means we are forced to move the dates can't see the end of it. Straightforward case, first time buyer.
Simple purchase gone wrong!
Simple purchase gone wrong!
After many many pointless forms, proof of funds, ID, searches, checks, login details not being sent, password reset emails never arriving, delay after delay.
Then to be de-instructed and re-instructed only to once again be de-instructed because one of the team says an out and out lie.
They're happy to take your money but offer zero value for it, have to be coached along and don't expect a reply to have any meaning to anything you originally asked.
I went with the cheapest option and it clearly shows. Avoid at all costs!
Never again...
If you are running away from this firm you are going in the right direction. They provided the worst experience when I used them (based on recommendation from an estate agent) in 2024 to sell my mother's flat.
This was a really uncomplicated sale and I had to deal with multiple staff including locums who never seemed to have read the information on file. They have been bought out or merged with another law firm last year which also set us back (had to redo ID checks etc) and lots of the staff left.
They nearly cost me the sale of the property with unexplainable delays for MONTHS. When I made a complaint, the 'customer experience' team were appalling.
t was so stressful and it didn't need to be this way.
Avoid using Butterworths Solicitors or PM Law
I believe Butterworths is now part of PM Law, so I recommend you do NOT use either. The solicitor who helped with the purchase of our house was very good, really thorough and a pleasure to work with. However, our Funding was reviewed at the start of the process and signed off, then 5 days before completion PM Law started to ask further funding questions, this delayed completion and made the whole process unpleasant and very stressful, needless as they had 10 weeks to ask the questions, incompetence comes to mind, with no consideration to customer service. Do NOT use Butterworths or PM Law, look at the other reviews, we can't be all wrong!
Awful communication
Butterworths didn’t represent me personally, but represented the sellers solicitors in our house buying process. The communication was awful from their side, I would avoid this firm at all costs, just wasting peoples time and money.
These people are like a circus
These people are like a circus, and a not very organised one at that. Five months to date four solicitors and very little communication, please please do not use this firm very unprofessional
Gross incompetence ,negligent
Gross incompetence ,negligent, total apathy and procrastination are perfect words to describe the service for a house conveyance. The whole chain collapsed on completion day even though they had months to prepare. Do not use unless you want stress, frustration and more stress, then heart break and disappointment. Jim
Waste of time
Had a problem with a boundary wall. Had am initial discussion with this solicitor which I found very constructive, was advised to pursue all options myself to resolve the situation with my neighbour in the first instance, but to come back if these failed and they could help.
I did that.
When I subsequently returned, they couldn't be less interested. Costs were eagerly mentioned 3 times (as if I did not know a solicitor would cost money).
I never received a call back despite several attempts to speak to them about this. Eventually went to a good solicitor who helped resolve the matter for me in a professional manner. I happily paid them for their services.
Save yourself a waste of time!
Takes incompetence to a new level
I was the seller of a property for which Butterworths acted for the buyer.
I thought the buyer was messing us about as I couldn't believe that a solicitor could be so hopeless. I was wrong. The buyer was as frustrated as me.
Zero communication, emails ignored, delays "explained" as waiting for information which had already been supplied, missed agreed dates for exchange, failed to send money on the day of completion etc
DO NOT USE THEM
0 Stars If Possible DO NOT USE
I would not recommend these solicitors to anyone. Our completion date was supposed to be 13th June. This did not happen and it took numerous calls and emails to find out why and what needed to be done. It is virtually impossible to speak to anyone, you are just promised a call back. This never happens! Emails are delivered and again no reply/response. We were then told there were communction issues as the company had been rebranded which I never even got told. A new name (bridge view law) but no improvement in service. They were aware of our situation and the implications of delays but my pleas fell on deaf ears. We eventually completed yesterday. House sales are stressful enough but with no communication, updates, guidance it is a nightmare. Steer well clear of .... Butterworths/bridge view law & pattinsons if you don't want to be passed on to them.
Pattisons auction have told us Butterworths have rebranded as Bridge View Law
Two months and still haven't responded despite the fact the sale of the property is via auction and has to complete in two business days time.
Pattinsons (the auction house) who recommended them have now today told us Butterworths have REBRANDED AS BRIDGE VIEW LAW
Very slow conveyancer for sale of…
Used as conveyancer for sale of property. Very slow, poor communication, takes days to respond to emails. Ask 1 question per email which I respond to immediately and then takes them 2 days to ask the next question. Completion massively delayed because of them
Complete clowns, avoid!
Utterly pathetic. If you want a team that takes 5 weeks to pass on a form this firm is for you. Do you need someone who doesn't know which business to contact? Then this is the firm for you. Do you have months to waste? This is the firm for you.
Want to set a completion date, nope, not possible. You must wait until they say they are ready so you cannot set a timescale or agree to anything they will not work to any schedule except their own. Total clowns, yet people still use them?
I wouldn't recommend them to anyone.
DO NOT USE this shambles of a company
DO NOT USE this shambles of a company. These were acting for the seller when I purchased an auction property, I believe Pattinsons (The auction house) must have some connection and recommend these cowboys to their clients. Butterworths kept my solicitor waiting and waiting for replies to emails, resulting in me missing the completion deadline, then had the audacity to charge £240 for issuing a completion notice and over £500 in interest for late completion!!
Now surprise surprise on the day of completion they are not responding to my solicitor to confirm receipt of funds which was sent first thing this morning (it’s now 2.30pm) meaning the agent cannot release the keys. Just to add another point, the useless, inept staff continuously sent documentation regarding the case to a different law firm despite being told repeatedly that the original firm were no longer acting for me!!
Please, save yourself the stress and hassle these clowns have caused me and appoint a reputable firm.
Avoid at all costs
If you would like to be completely ignored and have zero communication from these so called “experts”, waste hours of your time compiling emails and making phone calls to get absolutely nothing back then these are the solicitors for you. Absolutely disgraceful company. Wish I never went with them. Lining their pockets while you do all the chasing up and running about.
Do not use them!!!!!!!!!
If you want solicitors, don't use them, absolutely 0 communication, unresponsive through the phone, 100 times promised to call me back, but its never happened.
Worst solicitor in the North East area, unfortunately Pattinson Estate Agent recommendation.
Seems to be one people work in this firm, or just ignore customers call.
All excuse is "high demand"of calls, but every day through the last 2 weeks??? Absolutely joke.
If i could i can give 0 star.
Don't use them!!!!!!!!
1 star is far too much
1 star is far too much. I have nothing polite to say about them, they are absolutely hopeless. All of the requests from my solicitor were ignored, and they needed chasing multiple times in order to get any kind of basic reply. They sat on key searches for the auction purchase until the very last day and then sent them all with a demand to pay (and another bill of £240) which meant that my solicitor also now needed to do more work, taking us past the completion deadline. Result? ANOTHER bill for £557 in interest because of the delays created by these charlatans who just couldn't give less of a ****. Avoid, avoid, avoid. They should be totally ashamed of themselves, essentially robbing a disabled pensioner!
Avoid like the plague
These are the solicitors acting for the sellers on what should have been a simple auction purchase. It’s painful how hard it is to get any communication from them and usually after a few weeks it’s a one line response that means nothing. They clearly don’t know what they are doing or are so overworked they should not take on more work. Avoid like the plague. It’s the branch in Tyne and Wear. It’s already taken over 4 months when should have been 1. I may take this down if by a miracle something happens in the next week.
