I’ve just completed CPL (A) studies with BGS, all subjects passed within 14 months.
I was recommended to BGS by at least 3 people and I wasn’t disappointed. Friendly, helpful staff, offering very quick responses to my queries. The online revision weeks were a breeze and provided useful info. BGS HQ in Clevedon is easy to get to, it’s a lovely modern office environment for pre exam brush up. The examination room is far less crowded than other venues. I would have no hesitation in recommending BGS for online study courses.

BGS has been an absolute wonder for both students and ground instructors. The materials provided are of high quality and provides convenience for instructors to teach.

I enrolled onto Bristol Groundschool's ATPL(A) distant learning course back in 2022. Throughout the entirety of the course, I found the quality of the training material and the service provided to be second-to-none.

Bristol Groundschool's online learning platform, ATPDigital, featured a comprehensive degree of quality instruction which was clear, concise and highly informative throughout. Bristol Groundschool are highly proactive in their approach to ensure the material is regularly updated, relevant and resemblant of current learning objectives at all times to ensure no box remains un-ticked.

I found the online revision weeks to be highly enjoyable, interactive and proved to be a nice break from the solo-study routine as a bonus. Although conducted over a webcam, I still felt I was included within a traditional class-room environment and the level of experience, expertise and professionalism from all of the instructors was top-tier.

Although the ATPL studies presented great challenges due to the sheer amount of information required to be learnt, the on-going support of the Bristol Groundschool Team made passing the exams a breeze. I'm happy to say I completed my course with first-time passes in all subjects for both UK CAA and EASA with a 96% overall average.

BGS picked me up as a student as my previous flight school went into administration. From the beginning, they were nothing other than professional and more than willing to help.

As my previous school had done classroom learning, I thought I might have found it difficult to adjust half way through a course to distance learning. This certainly was not the case! The resources were second to none... They including instructor lead tutorials, question banks and structured lessons. Every exam I'd sat in which I had used the BGS resources, I felt confident that I had the required knowledge to pass. Last week, I finished my final exams with a 91% average and all first time passes.

I 100% recommend BGS to anyone wanting to start ATPL theory! Distance learning is not as daunting as it might seem.

Teachers were very professional and the training materials are appropriate for passing your ATPL at the first attempt. Overall the price you pay is worth it.

I started my ATPL(H)/IR theoretical course with Bristol Groundschool on October 2022. The most important for me was that BGS allowed me to study fully online. This course provided incredible flexibility and allowed me for full-time work. As I write this, it’s November 2023 and after 13 months I have managed to pass all my 13 exams first time with a 90% average pass mark. I am satisfied with the quality of the training software, learning materials and the people delivering the lessons. BGS has the best teachers and training materials. Also the support provided throughout the revision weeks really helps you prepare for exams as best possible. Customer service and IT support are also fantastic and very fast to answer your emails. The certificate of completion is recognized without any problems in the EASA country. I can fully recommend Bristol Groundschool as an ATO for an online ATPL!

Deciding on a late career change after PPL but continuing to work long hours in a role that I had committed to give proper attention, I expected to be challenged. BGS offered the mix of study techniques I wanted in order to figure out how to learn effectively again, and I found the mix of textbooks, app, webinars, online revision weeks, and an up-to-date question bank (that differentiated itself by quality explanations from BGS's instructors), to be exactly the mix I required to both understand the theory and learn how to pass the exams. Sitting CAA and EASA at the same time was smoothed by their deep and professional interest in not only what should be taught, but how, and how that knowledge should be tested.
The people and tone assured me I'd picked well, and when fitting my diary around examination centre availability it was Bristol I looked for, as a welcoming spot to chat all things ATPL with their staff and with other students.
If the CAA ever pause to consider how they could do pilot training and certification better, they should ask BGS out for coffee.

Super helpful instructors, webinars and revision weeks are great help really pushes you over the line to get those exams passed! I studied ATPL(A) at BGS I could not reccomend them more to anyone wanting to do distance learning. Absolutely the place to go!

I had previously used BGS for my ATPL studies in 2018. It was the best QB and was regularly updated.

I have since signed up to use as a tool for theoretical revision. Their website is now poor and the login system simply does not work. I have had to create a new account and contact their support team directly to access it as I was repeatedly told that my username/password was not recognised on both accounts. Having contacted them and had my password reset manually, I was then told that my account was restricted by the site administrator. This has cost me valuable revision time and has lost me days that I have paid for as part of my subscription.

Used their QB for ATPL studies. Couldn't be more spot on, I think I've learnt more with the explanations than I have done with my current school material. I've got a dozen more exams coming up and times against me, I'm hoping to use once again to brush up before I go sit them. Highly recommend. Also will contribute any questions I remember from the official exams too.

Market leaders for a reason. Their course materials are used by flight schools right across Europe, and they are the #1 groundschool in the UK, with knowledgeable instructors and great customer service. Their questionbank, BGS Online, is also excellent, and is kept up to date because they are an exam centre, so get feedback from students as they exit the exams.
