Who knew Faulty Towers did hearing care. Booked online and had appointment confirmed. System then wiped out appointment.... apparently issues with their system and this is common. Rebooked over the phone. Then got a call confirming an eye test appointment.... the person couldn't sort as in the opticians, so had to ring hearing care. An automated line which is on a never ending loop of button pressing that takes you back to where you started, as the lazy staff supposed to picking up calls had clearly diverted the phone. Had to then ring the store direct to be told that everyone was on holiday, so no appointment could be made for that day anyway. Gave up and went to Specsavers.

Helpful answering all the right questions

I took my 97 year old Mother for a test in Huntingdon recently. She had been a customer for years in a different branch.
She was told that new aids would help her hear when there was background noise which was a particular problem for her. As a result she bought the new aids at a cost of around £3,000.
I have taken her back several times for adjustment and finally the young man who “sold” them said she was too old to be able to process the sound. She was 97 when he sold them.
I have contacted Boots to ask for assistance but they have failed to respond to me.
I believe it is just a hard sell without proper thought to the needs of the client.

The politeness and warm welcome of all the staff made it a very good experience.
