Foreign Pension
I am a foreign pensioner living in Canada. I travelled to Sri Lanka after 4 years to withdraw the pension.I attended the Metropolitan Branch to attend to same. To my surprise I was overwhelmed by the way the staff was helpful. In fact may be due yo my age they gave me a seat and brought everything to the table helped me in all ways to make me comfortable. They even advised me on several issues. Nisansala and another lady whose name I can’t remember were so helpful and also very pleasant in assisting me. Hats off to you both. Their help was very much appreciated. Keep up the good work ladies.
Terrible customer service if you are…
Terrible customer service if you are not at a branch in person ! I wish I could give NO stars. They don't reply to emails for weeks if you are lucky, you have to repeatedly ask them something. If you are not in the country it is even worse. They have locked the online access id and no one responds to emails unless you want to pay huge international call charges and to be put on hold. Their whatsapp number is totally useless as they don't respond to any messages or answer any calls either. Need to find a reliable and accountable bank and move everything as it has been far too long with these issues.

Staff is not friendly and very poor customer service.. I did a payment online and money has not been deposited to particular place but deducted from my account.. I informed parent branch ( mulleriyawa branch)
and they told to take the letter by hand.. I told them that I cannot do it because my job location is in Jaffna and can't come out.. they did not refund yet . How can they play with our money like that.??? When informed customer care they said Aran email would be enough . But it will take nearly 45 days... So desperate about their pathetic service.. still I'm wondering when will I get my money... Every one has financial barriers .. I'm fighting for my own money..

As we walked in very demanding security officer was asking why we are there for. We were not even given a place to sit. As there was no waiting area. But there were chairs kept near the managers room. But we were told to sit near the security and there was only 1 chair for 4 people.

One of the worst banks in terms of customer experience. They do not know how to use technology effectively. Not bothered to improve even if you point it out. They will still try and justify that it’s not their mistake. If there is a choice I would recommend you to bank with any other bank but NOT with BOC . I lost my valuables due to the careless attitude of the branch manager and relationship manager.

It is no exaggeration to say that it is the worst bank in Sri Lanka . All customer service staff are very rude and impatient and unfit for the job . They get angry because they don't know how to answer our questions
No supportive customer care service
Not supportive customer care service at all. Not responding to emails or WhatsApp messages to meet customer satisfaction. Truly those are useless technologies to them. I also start my new account recently trusting it as it is a government bank. But they wasted my 3dys time dragging here and there just to check the remittance deposit. If there is an option to select bad stars, I will give full stars to BOC without any dought!
Worst bank branch in Avissawella
On 2022.08.30 I deposited money to the BOC account, Avissawella branch and on 2022.10.16 when I went to withdraw money they said my account has been deactivated since I have not done any transactions for a long period. But it's been only 2 months. They asked me to wait until they fixed it. After waiting for half an hour when I checked they said that it will take longer time as I have not withdrawn money for a long period and even though I have deposited money I have to withdraw money time to time in order to keep activate the account. Totally disappointed with this fact as the customers withdraw money only when they needed money not to keep activated the account.

Biggest loan shark in the history. They show u the good face while they hide their cunning faces. I took a loan for 9% rate and without a single hint they increased it to 18%. They shows no mercy to you. Even it costs full amount of what you earn for a month they won't hesitate to take all of it. Inhuman bank of Sri Lanka. Worst bank I have ever seen. Before you come to agreement from this bank you should thinl thousand times and its better you should avoid any business with this bank. This bank will eat u alive.

This bank raised the interest rate of loans in a way that the customers cannot bear up at this critical economical crisis. They didn't even let me know this increase. This bank has added extra one million and sixty thousand Sri Lankan rupees to my loan as interest. (For the next 112 instalments, they have added this.) For this reason, I am suffering severely. A very untrustworthy bank !
