The staff were very helpful when l investigated joining the gym and quickly assessed that ld benifit from the GP referal scheme. The receptionist was well informed and got a form for me to fill out to take to the GP. I was contacted to say my referral had been received and l was contacted by phone to come in and be assessed. The lady who assessed me and worked a programme out for me to use in the gym was really pleasant and helpful. I’m a starting Pilates this week and intend to use the aquasize classes as well.

Nice local gym
Nice local gym, small but well equipped. Big pool to use. Only thing I would point out, the ac in the gym is very very high, probably should be kept a bit lower as is not ideal to have cold air blown out on full power you while sweating

Just cannot get on classes you carnt…
Just cannot get on classes you carnt even just pop for a swim spontaneously if you book everything or go on waitin list have to remember to cancel or be penalized not long joined not sure how long I’ll stay a member also you now charge to go to other better Venus you use to be able to use a number of venues

We understand how frustrating it can be when you can't secure a spot in the classes you want, or feel unable to enjoy a spontaneous swim. We want our facilities to be as accessible and flexible as possible for all our members, and your feedback is really helpful in highlighting where we can improve.
We want to clarify that you do not have to pre-book, however we recommend it, so you are guaranteed a space.

No longer transfolk friendly
Unfortunately, whilst they initially started off transfriendly its sad to say the site is no longer safe for transfolk.
You will be expected to use accessible facilities of which there are only two. I would reccomend NRG gym as I have been and reasured I am safe to be myself there

I enjoyed my first time being there. The swim coach was pleasant and encouraged me through out the class! I feel calm and confident.

A great return to gym after a 5 year…
A great return to gym after a 5 year break for covid and then grandchildren. Much cleaner, working machinery, pleasand helpful staff actually at the reception and much warmer in main body of centre

Loving the aqua aerobics class!
I enjoyed my induction and the fact that the pool ands gym is so hear my home. The aqua aerobics class is fantastic! It was my first time doing it and I loved every minute of the class!
The classes get booked really quickly so I would love to have more available slots.

Joined a few weeks ago at first / second visit was a little unimpressed- toilets weren’t very clean- and the Sauna was not working!? Didn’t see anything on website to say it has broken for a while and definitely won’t be replaced this year and not sure on next year when we were joining! we were looking forward to the sauna so unfortunately very disappointed, Also no air con in gym as that’s also broken 😞 they do have a couple of air blowers but not effective enough 🤔 also the hand waits are filthy which is very off putting, disappointing really . However we like the pool and gym as doesn’t seem to get over crowded which I would imagine is down to the booking system which seems to work well. 🙌🏻 staff seem friendly.

We're very sorry to hear that your recent visits didn’t meet expectations. Cleanliness and facility maintenance are top priorities for us, so it's disappointing to learn about the issues with the toilets, sauna, and gym air conditioning.
We understand how frustrating it must be, especially when you were looking forward to using the sauna.
Regarding the sauna, we apologise for the lack of communication about its status. We’re currently reviewing how we share updates on facility availability to ensure members are better informed.
The air conditioning issue is also being addressed, and we’re working on a more effective solution than the temporary air blowers.
We’ve also flagged the condition of the hand weights with our cleaning team to ensure this is resolved promptly.
On a positive note, we're glad to hear you enjoy the pool and gym, and that the booking system and staff have made a good impression.

My wife joined and was given false…
My wife joined and was given false information. The membership was then cancelled and redone straight away. 3 weeks later her membership was suspended and when she tried to find out why, the phone cuts out every time she she presses 4 then 4. Just a joke!!!!
