Disgusting toilets, atrocious facilities, expensive at Crystal…
The toilets and facilities at Crystal Palace National Sports centre are disgusting!
For over £50 a month and a comparatively restricted membership (you can’t use the membership at other better centres) it’s criminal to charge what you do!
The water fountains have been “out of order” for an unreasonable amount of time - over a month! The toilets are always gross with faeces and urine on toilet seats.
There’s never paper towels to wipe down gym equipment and the centre looks like it’s still under construction.
Communicate with your members - apologise for the less than perfect service they are entitled to or give them compensation. Update your members on repairs and clean the site!

am writing to formally express my disappointment with the service I received regarding the swimming lessons I booked for my son at your Crystal Palace location.
Upon arriving for our scheduled appointment, I was immediately concerned to find that the swimming pool was far smaller than advertised online and did not appear clean. This alone was disappointing, as it did not match the expectations set by your promotional materials.
More concerning, however, was being informed by the instructor—just as we were about to start—that the lesson was not suitable for my son’s age. This error should never have occurred at the booking stage. I was then directed to the receptionist, who confirmed that there are no Saturday classes available for my son’s age group. As a working mother, weekday lessons are not an option for me.
Given that the service you offer does not meet my needs and that the booking itself was incorrectly allocated, I requested to cancel both the lesson and the paid membership. I was told this could only be done online, which I completed immediately.
To date, I have received no confirmation or update regarding my refund. There is no phone number available to discuss the matter, and when I attempted to raise a support ticket, I received an automated response stating that the ticket was closed without any resolution. This has left me feeling ignored and extremely frustrated.
This experience has demonstrated a complete lack of customer care. Money has been taken for a service that could not be provided, and there has been no meaningful support to resolve the issue.
I am requesting:
1. Immediate confirmation of the cancellation of my membership
2. A full refund of all amounts paid
3. A written response explaining how this situation will be resolved
If I do not receive a satisfactory response within a reasonable timeframe, I will have no option but to escalate the matter further.

The class was great
The class itself was great and so was George and his colleague - my daughter enjoyed it.
However a small comment if I may, having not been to the athletics area before, the directions given twice by a team member didn’t help and where not accurate at all, resulting in us walking around the centre aimlessly asking people if they knew were we needed to go. No staff around so it was a bit of an unfortunate late start …. All I would have expected from one of the two persons hanging around upstairs is to at least accompany my daughter and I to the class the second time I went up to ask for directions. Other than that, it’s a little in run-down and dirty but it’s been that way for ages, which is such a pity as it has sooo much potential to be great!

Online booking is a total disaster
I tried to book my child into athletics at Crystal Palace. It's basically impossible. There is absolutely no record of the training he actually does. The coach had to use a different app to find and book the course. Lessons were cancelled without any prior notification. Crystal Palace is total chaos at all times and impossible to navigate. The cafe is eye wateringly expensive. Some of the staff are friendly and the telephone help was good, but the online booking system is beyond terrible.

The staff are all so friendly and helpful, making it a real pleasure to be a member. I returned to the gym after 30 years absence as I needed to get my fitness back. So welcoming and inclusive with plenty of equipment. I couldn’t ask for more.

Some good classes in abysmal surroundings
The classes at Crystal Palace are led by nice instructors. They could be so much better though.
Circuits in the gym is devoid of atmosphere as it’s a shared facility with general gym goers.
Body pump is better as It’s in a dedicated room.
However, the main problem is the toilets and facilities are APPALLING. Membership should be called WORSE or WORST. The men’s toilets all stink like a latrine and I’m seriously considering ending my subscription based on this alone. There is no excuse for foul smelling, dirty amenities. Bleach and cleaning are in dire need in these areas.

Facilities need upgrading
Lots of activates available which is great.
Facilities need upgrading throughout the centre. The toilets in the changing rooms are almost unusable, don’t have seats, and don’t seem to be cleaned regularly.
The gym has most things you need but again some of the equipments is probably 10+ years old and is on its last legs.

Poor quality.
My son did swimming lesson in Forest Hill for 1 year now.
Unfortunately the start was difficult, he didn't want to change from the previous one.
Finally we did, I was happy waiting for his settling down going smoothly.
I have to say the pool is very nice, clean, nice changing rooms, with locks, showers.interesting machine to dry swimming costumes, looks all children love like my son.
The most important for me is the lessons, but the teacher changes quite often, and during the lesson, different classes in the water the same time, doesn't have anything to linen the groups or separete.
Have so many children and the teacher sides not handling all and some children were left alone , some looks lost in the pool.😞.
We pay for 30 mints looks the children not learning anything.
For my looks like the teacher my son had they are quite young and not much experience with the little ones.

Baby pool at Crystal Palace much better than expected, and changing facilities are fine. Classes are good and the instructor is good with kids but would be great if there was a bit more variety each week with the activities.

Lots of people not paying membership…
Lots of people not paying membership and use gym as no one control them on entry. Also still paying full price for membership but swimming pool not in use . Groups of young people hanging around without exercising and living equipment all over the place. Must to say gym , charging room and shower always clean.
Also good idea to put free locker in men's charging room so when customers going to have shower they don't need to go to corridor to grab bags, towels and clothes otherwise we need to leave our stuff not securely front of the shower and keep eye on them

Would give 5 stars but 4 bc fitness classes are mostly during 9-5s
Great centre overall, but the fitness classes (at least the good ones) are mostly during the day with very few over the weekend and after 5pm workdays which is frustrating for the 9-5 workers.
