Joining was an easy process with friendly and helpful staff. Gym has a good selection of equipment, all of which appeared to be working. Only slight challenge is the relatively short opening times at a weekend, closing at 4pm on a Saturday. On the positive again the changing rooms were clean and adequate.

Great gym, good range of equipment and always clean and tidy. Definitely good value and the membership includes the pool

My granddaughters first lesson
They explained everything to me before.
Then when my granddaughter went swimming for the first time,they were kind and very helpful.
When she came out she was very very happy.

The gym is clean and just about…
The gym is clean and just about functional however it lacks basic equipment/machines that you would find at the majority eg: hamstring, calf machines/missing a lot of leg lower body machines. Too many upper body machines. The angled leg press is not adjustable. Clearly the layout & range is targeted towards men and leg press machine is not adjustable to fit anyone under 5f8. Too many cardio machines. It does have a decent amount of free weights.

Too cold for children
Used to be fine, but price has been going nuts while tempreture is going down!
Going from £10 for 2 adults and a baby, to £17 for two adults and the kid getting free in with his membership in just a fe years. But then reducing the pool tempreture so low so kids cry after 15mins.
After 15mins of swimming with 4yr old I'm too cold as an adult and he's crying. After another 15 mins of trying to warm him in the showers and him just crying when getting back in the pool - we had to leave. He's fine in a wetsuit in the local free outside sea pool, which tell you how cold the inside swimmig pool is!
This is not a one off, it's just been getting colder and colder. Tried a few times when he was a baby but decided it wasn't safe for him because of how cold it was. He used to stop crying, go very still and very blue even after a few minutes - it was scary. Went to a pool a drive away and we would be able to do an hour with him activty trying to swim even as a baby.
But it's even colder now!
All the kids after a 30min lesson have blue lips and are shivering. How is that safe or acceptable? I have a terrible headache and still warming myself up with hot water bottle after getting back home.
Only 3 out of 6 showers with warm water.
Enough is enough - parents in the local area al complain about how cold it is in the local pool in Bude, and end up driving 30mins away to other pools. Even when we were getting out early there was another family who was doing the same thing because of the same reason - it's too cold.
Cold water swimming is not safe for children and vunerable people. It can cause cramps, increase heart rate, and high blood pressure.
Make it warmer, or ask the local to start bringing wetsuits.

I have an off peak M/S
I have an off peak M/S, which is great, never over busy, machines are clean, music not too loud, bright & airy, water always available...and the best of all, i don't have to wait for equipment to become available. Members also put equipment back once they've finished with it! Not alays the case in other gyms.
