They stole my money!
I booked a party back in May and ordered some additional platters of food for the adults. On the day, we were informed that they had unavailability of one of our platters so we requested a refund. We were told my management to go through the online refund process. We were told that they couldn't centrally process the refund and that we had to go through the centre. I call the manager and was informed he would process the refund. The refund never came. I further complained to the call centre who "investigated" and the response back after a week was "unfortunately they do not make refunds for dish availability. The centre mentioned that it is stated when customers book.". Firstly in none of my correspondence or T&C's can I see this stated. Secondly, what a weird thing to state, so basically you are free to just steal my money. Thirdly, I went and spoke to several people about this refund, and not one of them mentioned this so feel like a poor excuse to not process a refund that is sue to me. Unacceptable. I paid for items which were not provided. Under the Consumer Rights Act 2015 I am still demanding a refund. A very disgruntled customer.

Great place for the community
I use the Gym a lot. It is very good, especially the functional area. They have updated their equipment as well over the last few years.
Great place for kids as well with trampoline park and soft play.
Only downside I can think of are the changing room showers. Last few times I went, they were not clean at all.
Also there are no real shower cubicles.

Overall a very good experience
Overall a very good experience, wish the sportshouse had a swimming pool. The bathrooms could do with a renovation. Clean and tidy gym, staff are really nice and welcoming. So much space and equipment that are well maintained. Free parking with lots of bays.

I like the environment of the…
I like the environment of the gym(Barking sports house & gym). It's really maintained very well.just really disappointed with two things the WiFi doesn't work in the gym area in upstairs and they close very early in weekend time at 6pm . Because many of the people may work on weekends if the gym will open bit late then it will be so helpful for everyone who does work on weekends I believe .

limited exercise equipment
The gym is clean and beautiful, but it has limited exercise equipment. Many popular gym machines that are even found in regular gyms are not available here. There is even enough space to accommodate these machines. Some of the gym’s equipment is broken, but no one repairs them, which is another drawback.

We need a smith machine
Wonderful gym, staff are nice, classes are fun, all floors have a good space for workout. But would make my stay at this gym permanent is if the could have a smith machine. Please add this to the gym especially on the ground floor as there is space for such if you remove one of the barbell stations downstairs. SMITH MACHINE 2026!!!

First floor gym
I mostly use the gym on the first floor it has great equipment, it would be nice if there was another cable machine like the one near the water fountain. The layout could be better as there is a lot of wasted space could have more equipment. The staff I have came across and spoke to are very friendly and helpful. Entry system needs improving as the gate is always open so anyone could slip through when the receptionist is busy. Other than that it seems a great place.

Myself and my family visited Barking sporthouse today for a SEND trampoline session. Our youngest has high sensory issues with clothing especially, due to his ASD/ADHD.
Our days out can be quite challenging and challenged more by staff and their rules that they need to put to us, with a child with no understanding it is impossible. However, today although challenged by one member of staff we were delighted by the positive interactions we had with a young lady who's name (badge) was Olivia.C. she could see that my Child was having difficulties with the new design of "Better" branded jump socks aswell as seeing my Child was having issues keeping his top on. She was calm and very patient and polite, encouraging us to attempt to get socks on him if we could but also had a good understanding of the difficulties we were experiencing... due to summer temperatures it is difficult to have our Son wear even the basics so a day out is often daunting.
Olivia also saw me taking photos of my children (only my children) and offered to get a few pics of us all...obviously aware that Mum's generally take the pics but rarely are included, especially in a family so hectic as ours. Olivia. C obviously had a good knowlege of SEN and an open mind, other staff there have not been so helpful on various visits and lacked understanding of disabilities although it is a SEND Session. Olivia.C was a pleasure to have on site, such a positive member of staff who I hope is very valued by "Better", she is an example of what all staff there should be aiming to be and is an absolute credit to your company. Thank you Olivia.C for reducing our stress and being so kind and helpful with all of our children and myself. We enjoyed our visit today thank you.
