I wanted to join this forum, but there appears to be a fault with their hCaptcha which prevents me signing up. I have emailed them twice to ask for help and have had no reply.
Shame. One of their members had a bass for sale that I was interested in buying but I guess I’ll have to look elsewhere.

Superb friendly 'forum' for open discussion about all things related to bass (not the fish)... and sometimes stuff that isn't even bass related. I've been a member of this forum from day one and I've been witness to fantastic acts of generosity and helpfullness which transcend simply discussing the bass guitar. However, it is a community which self regulates (with the guidance of great moderators) very effectively and generally doesn't tolerate cockwombles.

It's alright, beats being punched on the nose :P

Great community of bassists, providing each other with support and advice on not only bass related subjects.... but also life events etc. People who contribute without forcing their opinions down the throats of others are widely welcomed and appreciated, making for a lively and constructive community. Those who join and jump in with confrontation normally end up showing themselves out....

A brilliant forum for bass players of abilities and experiences - and whilst UK based, has many international participants too. I've been an active member for 20+ years. Becoming an active member is totally free, with the option to pay a small annual fee to support the site if you like (and this then permits to to list bits and bobs bass / music related to sell if you need). If you're interested in bass guitar, double bass (etc) and broader conversations - mainly music related - you have come to the right forum. Enjoy!

A great site full of friendly, knowledgeable like-minded individuals. I spend far too much time on it, but I’ve learned so much on a subject which is my “thang”. Love the openness, the way it’s run and moderated. A great place to buy and sell. Also met a fair few users IRL at the regular get-togethers.

The most kind, friendly, and helpful people I've ever met on the Internet. Insightful, experienced, knowledgable, tolerable to mistakes and guff made by non-native speakers, open to discussing anything, not only bass-related stuff.
It's the only forum I've been participating in for so long. Always a pleasure to visit.

Basschat is a good source of information. It's a community with a lot of knowledgeable people who are happy to help with any issues or questions regarding the bass or anything else.

It's also a great place to buy and sell gear.

I've been a member of BassChat since is was under the old name close to 20 years ago! This is a great forum with many colourful characters that I've come to know both virtually and in person over the years. There is healthy debate around hundred of topics (mostly bass of course but sometimes other 'worldly' topics!). I've bought, sold and traded hundreds of instruments over the years with the folks on Basschat, its given me the opportunity to play and own far more rare and interesting basses than I ever could have without Basschat being there. Yes, sometimes threads go off the rails a bit, but with 45k people using the site thats only natural. For me, this has been an excellent resource and a genuinely valuable place for great advice and bouncing ideas off of people that have great knowledge. I'll be a member until the end.

in terms of content this site is excellent,one of the best but unfortunately there is an ever present level of toxicity omnipresent which isn't only tolerated but occasionally even engaged in by the mods. If opinions are given that are contrary to the tribe then you had better have a thick skin because the mods evidently don't care. A bit of a shame on what otherwise could be a perfect forum. I am posting in the hope that just maybe it might tweak a nerve and get the mods to be a bit more hands on and self reflecting with the passive aggressive elements that presently wander the forum unchallenged.

The best musician forum I've used, focus is basses (electric and upright), bass amps and bass playing but it's a valuable resource for everything music-related, from recording to hifi to gigs to artists. Got a question or problem, there'll be a bunch of experienced and expert opinions within hours. Also has THE best bass marketplace in Europe

This site seems mildly over-obsessed with bass for some reason. But otherwise they're nice people, by and large.

Fabulous site for all things bass related, populated by some very knowledgable, amusing and occasionally well known players. Also a great and safe place to buy or sell. I've been a member from its previous incarnation as Bassworld and although it's grown significantly in that time the knobhead quotient stills remains mercifully low, so it's an easy place to pass a few hours without really noticing...

Basschat is a very friendly forum, with lots of knowledge musicians. It provides tons of information from playing bass, other instruments to technical aspects of music instruments and equipment. You can purchase music related and other items from trusted members. The topics are categorised so every subject has it's particular place. I have turned to basschat after being abstinent from music for over a decade and do not regret it.

Most reliable and friendly musicians' forum (and marketplace) I have ever discovered, and I've been doing this stuff since before the Internet was invented.
