So we used Ashworths (and James specifically) for two house moves. Quite simply, they were brilliant. Friendly, helpful, efficient and endlessly patient with our many questions. After researching and looking for a legal firm to represent my elderly mother and younger brother procure the Right to buy for their home, I was going to use this firm based in Wimbledon. My family planned to put down a sizeable deposit of over 100k which was not reflected in the quote we had received. The actual final purchase price was in incorrect on the quote. There also would be no stamp duty due which was shown on the quote. I contacted the firm to correct the quotation so it was reflecting the correct information. I received back a very snooty condescending email stating the "the fee was correct" ( I never asked about the fee?) and maybe I should "shop around for another firm" and suggested alternative firms.

The tone of email was not pleasant and I took Areej's advice to look for another firm.

Please do not assume people cannot afford your services because it is a "right to buy" enquiry. As a home owner myself and who works with legal counsel as part of my job It is important to have the correct information as the basis to start off with which is why I asked for the quote to be corrected to reflect the right information.

Please do not judge potential clients situation prematurely.
