Unfortunately
Unfortunately, I did not research the company first and I also got scammed. The same process as others have described. $80 for the visit, $280 for the diagnostic which would cover also the visit fee, and then……$4,322 for parts if I wanted repaired. Of course I did not accept it. I called directly to the brand’s technical support. They sent a REAL qualified technician and guess what? The diagnosis was very different, parts were only $35 and problem fixed!!! The Appliance Repair Team refused to reimburse my money ($316 for the wrong diagnosis), of course…. Scammers!!!! Since you naively sign a form to do the diagnosis, I guess you can’t sue them. Smart scammers!!!
They are absolutely disgusting
They are absolutely disgusting! I would NEVER hire them again! They ran 5 hours behind on my first appt. then wanted to come 9 at night. I declined. Next day for 11:00. I had to call them at 12:30, guy was behind once again. I reminded them I had to leave at 2:00. Guy showed up at 1:38 didn’t fix a thing and charged me $80. 12:05 today I called back. They wanted $240 BEFORE they would send a tech back out. I told them to stuff the $80 up their ass and… she hung up on me. Terrible customer service, rude to customers. Customer is NEVER right! They completely SUCK!!
STEER CLEAR! SCAMMERS
If I could rate them -50981762 stars, I WOULD IN A HEARTBEAT. This company are SCAMMERS! They come in for an initial assessment and charge you a deposit, say they have to order parts that will take 5-7 business days, to get in. They will DELAY DEALY DELAY, and CANCEL MANY TIMES! Their “cancellation/refund policy” states the initial labour fee is non-refundable which is $80+ tax which is STATED ON THEIR WEBSITE, along with a restocking fee. YET, they will charge you DOUBLE that.
you CANT speak to higher up cause they will say the customer has “no way of directly doing that” but the customer service rep has to directly contact higher up on BEHALF of the client,EVEN IF the customer is Extremely upset and wants something to be done and a resolution. The only way to complain is to “send an email” which only goes to customer service and they say “it is being escalated” which is a LIE.
they said the part comes in and then they schedule a pereon and then the person says “oh there’s another part but the one i already have is the wrong one”
PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE, STAY CLEAR FROM THIS BUSINESS!
Do not hire these scammers
Do not hire these scammers. I am surprised they are still in business. The came out to repair dryer. "Technician" could not repair charged 500 for parts and labour did not provide for a total of 787.00 FOR A REPAIR. Dryer is still sitting unrepaired after 10 days AND I STUPIDLY GAVE THEM $521.00. Asked for a refund but they said that the document I signed (for the entire labour cost and part) was not refundable and to read the fine print. THEY HAVEN'T EVEN DONE THE JOB!
Slow service and not very professional
I used The A Team Repair in the Kitchener–Waterloo area for a washing machine repair.
The experience overall was pretty frustrating. The first visit happened past the scheduled window, and after saying they needed a part (which was supposed to take 5 business days), the follow-up got rescheduled three times. It ended up taking about a month total.
On the day they finally came back, there was no call ahead like expected, so I was in a meeting when they arrived. The interaction itself also felt a bit off: no greeting, and they kept pointing out lint in my dryer multiple times even after I acknowledged it.
Also worth noting they only accept debit or cash.
Overall, the repair got done, but the delays and customer experience weren’t great.
If I could give negative stars
If I could give negative stars - this would be the company to do that for. Quoted on the phone the cost for just showing up. Guy came for 5 minutes, stated he needed to bring in another individual to help him (they were aware during initial call it was a microwave install) and the cost tripled in price. Refused to pay, wouldn’t sign their scam invoice document - once I finally had him leave I was able to see online through just a search that this company is known to scam customers, part of media fraud investigations, no reputable business #, continued Better Business Bureau F ratings, and the list continues. Will continue to spread this word to others to avoid this scam of a company. Don’t go near unless you want to have someone take your money to give you nothing.
Total Scammers
Total Scammers, buyer beware,
Here's our story:
On February 14th, 2026 A Team Appliance Repair was hired by us to repair a 2 year old dryer at one of our rental properties. The dryer was sending an error code (P20) indicating the vent was too long or obstructed. After over $1000.00, 3 visits and almost two months later they complete the job only to have the same error code return after they left.
We complained to the company, was told there are no refunds on parts or labor and refused to have the tech contact us. We asked for the part numbers they installed and were told they don't use part numbers just that make and model of the appliance.(?) We were also told that they installed the sensor and not the main control board with no extra cost as the sensor (around $50-$70) was higher in price than the main board (about $325.00). We asked for more details about the parts installed and they now refuse any contact
Note: The company insisted on an e-transfer instead of credit card payment.
There should really be an option for 0 stars…
There should really be an option for 0 stars.
Considering I should have checked reviews before booking an appointment with them... I have no one to blame but myself.
So... I can tell you about the dude who showed up and put a bill in my mailbox for a service call that never happened...
She told me he called and came to the house. She said he even rang the bell. I have a Ring Cam. It's 2026. Would you like me to send you the video...
Please do better people. You have a service that the community depends on. Be honest with your future clients. If you mess up... it's OK. Say... hey we completely dropped the ball... maybe wave your service fee... idk... Just own it. Be adults. Apologize when you mess up. Call ahead and give people a heads up if you're going to be late. If you can't do that.... then you need better management.
Another victim of this company
Another victim of this company. They advertise 80.00 for a visit, but that does not include any diagnostic at all (which they dont explain when booking a technician), and once on site they charge 280.00 for the diagnostic.
Pure scam.
Stay away from this scam operation
Stay away from this scam operation! They say the cost is 80 and 340 later we paid for diagnostic and no repair. Price gouging in parts - 4 times more than our present repair person. Lack of integrity and professionalism
Worst service interaction i have ever had.
My interaction with this company was the single worst experience i have ever had in hiring a company for service. I had a 2 year old Samsung dishwasher that was not moving from the washing cycle to the drying cycle. Technician was at my house for all of 15 minutes before telling me that it was the main motor in the dishwasher that was the problem. Rather than wasting the money i had spent to have them come for the service call, i agreed to the repair.
After 4 weeks of waiting, the technician returned, installed (i believe) the new motor and told me all would be fine. He did not reinstall any of the clips that hold the dishwasher in place or the kick plate, and the dishwasher was badly out of balance. Needless to say that it was in even worse shape than before the "repair", as it would now error out within 90 seconds of starting any cycle.
I called for a return visit, which took more than a month due to their continued (3 times) cancellation of appointments that were booked. When the tech finally did return, he claimed that another part was the problem, but did not offer me a price or the choice to fix the dishwasher.
In total, my interaction with A1 Appliance Repair Team took more than 9 weeks, and i am out $900 and still dont have a working dishwasher.
STAY AWAY from this company.
Do not hire this company
Do not hire this company. We called them to fix our ice maker and stop the fridge from icing up inside. The tech came and charged us over 900 for the job. The ice maker was replaced but the fridge never stopped icing up. Over a month of calling later, the fridge is still icing. He was late for every appointment (that he actually showed up for), in addition to just not coming a few times and not telling us he was cancelling. I have been on the phone over a dozen times trying to resolve this but am always told that the only person who can do anything is the same unreliable tech.
Another scammed customer
Another scammed customer. OEM part (that they charged $350 but is $125) last 2 months. They offered the part as long as we paid labour again (already had paid $950). When we said we would just pick up the part they changed their tune again. Now the part was $125 but only if we paid another $250. When we said that was unacceptable they hung up
Completely dishonest outfit. They have removed their business address from google maps so people cant complain there. They obviously just do not care
Scam , Stay away
They do NOT know what they are doing , they just charge too much and Fee .
Warning: The A Team Appliance Repair (Appliance Repair Team) scammed me on LG washer repair – unchanged error code + took original motor
I made the mistake of calling The A Team Appliance Repair after seeing them high up in Google results for my LG washing machine error. They quoted an $80 service fee that would be waived if I let them fix it.
Technician came, said it needed a new motor. I paid $859.49 by debit as partial payment. Within one hour I called to cancel because the machine is still under 10-year warranty and it made more sense to replace it or use authorized service. They said “too late – part already ordered” and threatened 15% restocking fee + $30 shipping + $290 labour. They offered a 10% discount, which I accepted under pressure.
Part arrived 6 days later. Second tech (Anush) was 3 hours late, installed the motor, said he tested it, and left the machine in “working condition”. I paid the remaining $180.82.
Immediately after he left, I ran a load and got the exact same error code. Nothing was fixed. The diagnosis was completely wrong – the motor wasn’t the issue.
They also took the original motor away and never returned it or provided any documentation.
I’ve now exchanged multiple emails demanding a full refund of $1,040.31. They refuse, keep pushing another “warranty visit,” and hide behind their terms. The invoices even claim the appliance was tested and demonstrated as working – clearly false.
This company has hundreds of similar complaints (over 750 on BBB with an F rating), is on Ontario’s Consumer Beware List, and faces multiple charges against the business and director for misleading practices and refund issues.
Do not use them. Research first, avoid Google ads for appliance repair in the GTA, and go straight to manufacturer authorized service or a reputable local tech.
I’ve filed with Consumer Protection Ontario. Lesson learned the hard way.
Stay away waste of Money and Time
I was charged #327 for inspection of Refrigerator, and for part they asked for $750 plus labor, which was available for $100 on parts store in Mississauga. I asked them I can bring part you can charge for labor, but didn't agreed.
They are very dishonest and Customer services or whatever you want to call it was DISGUSTING.
HORRIBLE. these are definitely scammers, BEWARE
Buyer BEWARE - A Team Appliance Repair is a SCAM!
Buyer BEWARE! This is a completely dishonest and fraudulent company that is masquerading as appliance repair technicians. Their approach is always the same (found this out AFTER becoming yet another one of their victims and losing almost $300 for less than 10 minutes of shoddy "service".) Their website states that they provide fair pricing upon arrival. But in actual fact they use their service fee of $85 plus tax simply to gain access to your home. They then demand a labour fee of $250 plus tax upfront before looking at the appliance -- payable only by cash or debit. The technician was rude, aggressive and rough. He aggressively and quickly rushed me to sign the document, which I realized afterwards indicated that I would pay the labour fee after the work, but he forced me to do it before he'd even taken a look at the dishwasher. He then said that this would cover any additional visits or labour other than parts. After less than 10 minutes during which he pulled out the dishwasher and left a piece of it hanging out, dirt on the floor, etc., he quoted the part that was needed at $489!!! All that was needed was a spring on the door. We found it later online for $16! When I asked him to wait until my husband returned in 5 minutes, he grabbed his backpack and bolted for the front door, leaving it wide open. That is when I knew I had been scammed by this shoddy guy. He also arrived in an old car with no company name on it, no ID, no technician license.... All of these things should have been red flags but I trusted that he was legit. Once he got his foot in the door, I was then a victim of this scam operation. They are repeating this "practice" over and over, according to Reddit, Facebook, and a CTV news story on this company in February 2026. They need to be stopped before more and more victims fall prey to their scams.
The rudest repair man ever
The rudest repair man ever. Arrived, barely investigated and told us we needed to order a part and that he would come back to install. It was WAY over priced for the needed part, but we paid partially, so we were on the hook and he knew it. Came back a week later and he was even ruder the second time. He tried to leave before the work was even done, then he was accusatory and argumentative. Ridiculous.
I was charged 600$ as a DEPOSIT
I was charged 600$ as a DEPOSIT, in order for a part to fix my washing machine.. after awaiting 2 months and countless trips to the laundromat, I eventually just bought a whole new washing machine as that seemed cheaper less stressful. Customer services or whatever you want to call it was DISGUSTING. "managers" or any other team is never able to answer the the phone. and 3 months later when they agreed to give me 127$ back along with the part they took from my machine.. IT WAS THE WRONG PART, my machine was maytag this part belonged to a whirlpool machine. HORRIBLE. these are definitely scammers, BEWARE
