What a disgrace this Ansa company is


My insurance used them for my underground blocked drains of sewage the engineer / surveyor came out took the findings back being a cracked pipe they sent x2 guys out all the way from Somerset to Lincolnshire 9hr round trip for 3 hours work, really 🤷‍♀️ they had a sleeve to put over the main cracked pipe then said it will be better to cover the x2 small pipes as well, so we’ll relay this back and get them ordered and either we or 2 other guys will be out to cover the pipes over they not only took pictures of my downstairs shower room they dug up x2 patio slabs took out the top soil to leave just the sand so it’ll be easier next time someone comes back to complete the work I have to say these contractors they used were very good and everything was left neat and tidy…But then I receive a phone call from Ansa to say we’re not doing the work it’s wear and tear !!!!

So why send these guys when the 1st engineer/ surveyor said it was a cracked pipe if it was wear and tear he found then that would have been it there and then !! So why send another 2 out to re- camera where they needed to go they also had one part of the material !!!

And MBNA I’m still trying to get them to listen and investigate this dreadful company who should be shut down the girl who phoned me from Ansa wow, so surly and rude is an understatement she actually said they’ll do it privately if I wanted they’re a bunch of cowboys and that’s fraud as far as I’m concerned trying to tap me for more money
I have told the insurance co irl not go with them again what’s the point of insurance when we as customers are either ignored or declined no wonder they’re raking it in….disgraceful !!!

And when my shower and loo backs up again what then bet they wouldn’t like it sewage coming up now would they !!!

These are not even worth one star …🤬

I have no idea how they are still operating due to the severe incompetence from them and the disregard of vulnerable households:

My works started on the 3rd December 2025 and it’s been 12 weeks and the works are still not done. They have left 2 tonnes of bricks in my driveway and have never come back.

After several complaints to them they simply don’t care.
I would urge you to not use this company - I have no idea why Halifax are using them either.

Not sure they know the geotechnics of this 100%

Well, just had an interesting chat with them re my drains and how they are now telling me the damage is caused by the constant movement of the soil/earth around my house! Built in 1635 the house if they are correct should be many miles down the road by now! Oddly enough they used cameras a few weeks ago which showed no damage to the drains and they surveyed again last week (when I was not there) and surprisingly now there is damage! I have asked for a copy of the soil reports (not taken) which would support the movement and also a copy of the videos which would/should capture the damage (which was not there) a few weeks ago!

Admin is not there strong point as received an email saying i would be getting a visit, however the visit date was some 3 weeks prior to the date of the email?

Unfortunately for them my insurance is covered via one of my premier bank accounts and I am off now to ask the bank to look into this our close my account/s, which will not be good news for them! Oh Joy

Terrible customer service beyond belief…

Terrible customer service beyond belief. ANSA engineers have caused a flood in my garden and stopped any running water and refuse to take any responsibility for their actions. Have had to talk to their team on the phone for close to 5 hours and they refused to send anyone out to assess/fix the situation. Instead they advised we pay privately for their engineers to be sent out. Their “work” has also led to our neighbours losing their water supply and they have also been incredibly uncooperative with them when contacted separately. I am appalled by their customer service (particularly Sabrina) as they were happy to let their customers go without water as a direct result of their actions. Please avoid this company with your life!!!

Update: engineers were sent and sorted the issue in an hour. The engineers were swift and thorough. Martin at ANSA was incredibly helpful and escalated the situation. Sabrina was the prime reason for the terrible service we received from ANSA and should be barred from working in a job that stops people from accessing water.

Poor communication with customer and insurance company paying them.

Had a leak and my insurance company instructed Ansa - I checked out the reviews and was very worried.
To my surprise Ansa called very quickly, took the details and said they'd call back with an appointment. They came back with a date 24 hours beyond the agreement with my insurance company - bearing in mind we had no water whatsoever. I declined the appointment and they came back with another date which was within the 48hrs. The company they used (Absolute Leak Detection) were first rate.
Unfortunately, the water was no longer going into my hot water tank. Called Ansa who said I had to call my insurance. Called my insurance who put me on hold, spoke to Ansa and then informed me that Ansa were arranging for a plumber. After 6 hours with no word I called Ansa and was treated like I was making it up. Had to call my insurance company who got through to Ansa after an hour.
By now it's 3pm on Friday so I know I'm not getting a plumber. My insurance company called back and said Ansa hadn't actioned the 9am request and were trying to sort a plumber. They told me that Tina from Ansa would update me - of course she didn't.
Absolute Leak called 8.15am on Saturday and said they'd be out Tuesday afternoon. So, I've now gone 4 whole days with no water and an additional 5 days with no hot water come Tuesday.
It all started so well until there was a problem. No communication and unhelpful staff. With the exception of Alan, everyone I spoke to make me feel like they were doing me a favour just answering the phone to me. They do not have a good customer attitude.
Fingers crossed the hot water is back on Wednesday afternoon and fingers crossed I don't have to deal Ansa again. The 3 stars is because when I originally pushed back they did arrange someone to come out within 2 days and because Alan was so helpful.

Happy customer

After contacting my insurance company with a drainage problem they quickly arranged for ANSA to come and assess repairs needed.
2 weeks after the assessment ANSA workmen started the repairs.
Tom and his colleague were respectful, polite and kept us informed at all times. To access the dropped sewer pipe our patio had to be dug up, but after they relaid it you would never know they had been.
The workmanship at all stages was first class and undertaken with care and eye for detail. Thank you DirectLine and Tom and his fellow worker from ANSA.

Ansa: Incompetent and rude

Took a year for me and two neighbours to get a communal drainage issue sorted, mostly because of Ansa's terrible communication issues. Phone calls not returned; four letters Ansa claimed to have sent to neighbours never received; two forms sent separately to Ansa - with proof of postage - apparently never arrived.
Ansa's customer service advisor was unprofessional and finally breathtakingly aggressive. After that I solved the problem by politely but very firmly saying that he should email me instead, and putting the phone down, as soon as I heard his voice. (The subsequent unprofessional emails made us laugh rather than putting my blood pressure up, and at least everything was on the record for any formal complaint.)
On the good side, the assessors and engineers who did the actual work were competent and friendly, and Lloyds insurers, subcontracted from Saga, did get things moving with Ansa at one point. I spoke a couple of times with another customer service advisor from Ansa and she was polite and efficient.
But an extremely bad experience overall. I'm not renewing my home insurance with Saga, and have been assured by my proposed new insurance company that if any drainage problem crops up, I can insist that they use someone other than Ansa.

I had been given these to deal with through my insurance due to a drain blocked and sewage backing up nearly into the house . The first person I spoke to was a guy called Mike totally unprofessional it seemed like I was inconveniencing him
By calling which was on a Saturday.
He was rude he kept on telling me to spell such things as direct line ??? I was concerned as sewage was backing up I have a young family now with no toilet or washing facilities and potentially sewage in the house . After the worst call he finished by saying someone will be out and ended the call ? I was given no information when someone will be out or any of the usual stuff you would expect . I had to ring back only to find out my call had not even been logged . Not been called back by anyone 24 hours later . I have had to get someone out myself whom are ment to be coming out today . How these cowboys are in business still is beyond me. AVOID AVOID AVOID !!!!!!

Shocking service

Shocking service, their engineer can’t make the appointment due to the weather and he has got a long way to come!
It’s raining, no high winds, no snow, no ice just good old English rain.

Absolute bunch of cowboys. Zero customer service

Unfortunate experience with this disorganised and incompetent bunch. I have a leak somewhere on the property. Lloyds insurance agreed to assist in finding the leak as covered by the policy and contracted Ansa. Initial call from their team to take some details and then was told their engineer would be in contact. After several days of nothing, called their office only to have the phone answered very unprofessionally, gave details and then was put on hold for around 10 minutes only to then be told they had no records. Finally they managed to find the details and told me they were waiting to send letters to the neighbours as their water might need to be turned off. An engineer was arranged who attended and explained the kitchen units would need to be removed before they could do anything. I had the units removed and called to book an appointment for the engineer to return. Again they could not find the detail but after a lot of hold music, they found the details, took addresses of the neighbour to send them a letter and told me they would be in touch.

2weeks later still nothing and called again and got through the incredibly unprofessional “senior customer service advisor” Brett. Again, unable to verify the case but then managed to and told me again they were waiting for the letters to be returned for the neighbours. Give we were now four weeks in I asked when this was going to get resolved. At this point he raised his voice and told me I was upset but I needed to listen in a massively condescending and rude manner. He explained it would be a few more days but they would pencil in the engineer visit for two weeks time and they would ring to confirm. The next week, still nothing so I checked with my neighbours who had not received a letter. My son decided to call them and got the delightful Brett again. Unfortunately on this occasion he took a tone with my son but he he was not prepared to accept this attitude. After a high tempered exchange, Brett confirmed the booking, “assuming” the engineer was still available. The engineer due to attend am turned up at 3pm and looked at the pipe work and said it’s internal so nothing we can do.

AWESOME. Weeks later, no resolution except for them suggesting ‘not my job’. Thanks Brett, and all involved.

Would recommend.

I am an elderly woman with little clue about drainage.This company were completely transparent with me and kept me updated through every stage of the process.Mack dealt with my claim throughout and was a pleasure to talk to. I don’t understand all the bad reviews I was very impressed with the service.

Disgusted but not surprised…

I was contacted to arrange payment for a policy excess, for a repair at my 87 year old mothers property. Whilst setting up the direct payment from my bank to the name and details given by Ansa my bank pointed out a discrepancy in the account name.
I duly phoned answer to check which name I should be using.
I spoke to an agent i had spoken to previously during the repair and hoped he would not be as rude and abrupt as my previous conversations during the repair. Sadly that was not the case.he stated there were two accounts and when I tried to make sure which to use was told look we just want paying.
After the four week debacle between the water board and yourself to complete the work, which my mother bore with good grace, it is a shame your 'Customer Services'agents cannot show the same. Definitely a training need

Once started great workmanship.

Inauspicious start as i had to wait a good while to get a work date. I understand therefore other people's concerns here. However, once the engineer arrived (Nick) he worked tirelessly and after 3 days had dug up our garden and paving slabs on our rear path and fixed the broken drainage in several locations with new pipework. This was a big job which the engineer carried out with great skill and high quality of workmanship. He refitted the paving slabs put the garden back in order and both garden and pathway are back exactly to how it was before, actually looking even better than before. Highly delighted with the work done and from my own experience can't fault their workmanship. Huge regards to Nick the engineer, well done. Highly recommend this company.

Wish I could leave no stars

Wish I could leave no stars, shocking service from start, booked for Ansa to attend leak had to chase them three times for them to finally confirm when they would be attending, customer service have been rude every call, engineer attended site confirmed needed to replace pipe, over a week later they returned leaving 1metre deep hole in front garden overnight, returned following morning filled hole and disappeared finally got through to centre and advised wouldn't be fixing pipe but engineer said nothing just left with no notice. Horrendous service from everyone

Don’t touch them with a sewer rod

UPDATE NOW NOVEMBER 2021 THE OMBUDSMAN HAS FORCED NFU TO REPAY OUR DEBITS AND PAY £400 COMPENSATION. A WRITTEN APOLOGY AND REMOVAL OF OUR NAMES FROM FRAUD AGENCIES. UNFORTUNATELY THEY ARE STILL REFUSING TO REPAIR OUR SEPTIC TANK! THE OMBUDSMAN IS NOW GOING TO RULE ON THEIR REFUSAL!

In early October 2020 our large septic tank was emptied for its yearly service unfortunately that weekend we had the largest amount of rainfall since records began in 1870 something

I contacted my insurers The Ulster Farmers Union (The Farmers Union) who checked the previous weather statistics and confirmed my explanation that due to the tank being empty the tank had literally floated out of the waterlogged ground.

I attempted to get some local contractors to get the repair and installation sorted but all too busy so this company ANSA based in England was tasked to sort it out. A local contractor visited on 16th November and agreed the tank had floated out but it’s original dry installation back inSpring 2017 was acceptable. They stated that they use to install tanks dry but now were using concrete due to the increase rainfall.

They posted emailed their report on the 17th but a week later ANSA claimed not to have received it! This is Health and Safety issue as both my wife and I are disabled pensioners and in the Coronavirus risk categories.

I phoned and complained asking for a manager to contact us. Never happened! The local contractor resent their report. ANSA have ignored the site report and are claiming we are not insured as the tank was not properly installed (it should have been concreted in)! The local contractor was shocked as the ANSA desktop report contradicts their local contractor, the original experienced installer, the supplier of the septic tank who gave no instructions for concrete to be used and all the reports on the internet describing exactly the same scenario. Tank emptied then torrential rain and a previous installations that never caused any problems breaking out of the ground!

The Farms Union have been so lax in their response and only to willing to use the ANSA report to try to get out of their responsibility. Last Tuesday we received a phone call that they would be dealing direct with us and that their assessor Jonathan was having a meeting that afternoon and would contact us that afternoon or on Wednesday. Friday afternoon arrived with no phons call and when we ran he was away for the day! His total lack of concern for a emergency situation beggars belief. I’m sure he wasn’t using a camping chemical toilet over his weekend. After leaving a curt message for him to get his finger out and sort out this emergency he phoned on Monday and stated he would speak to a senior manager. It is now Tuesday evening and still no word!

ANSA are a bunch of wasters and going by their ratings I don’t know why the Farmers Union are using their services apart from conning the public out of their legal rights to repairs?

The FU definitely chose the correct initials F Useless is what they are. We won’t be renewing our policies with them.

I can see a court case coming on!

We haven’t lost on yet!

Easily the worst company I have had the…

Easily the worst company I have had the misfortune to deal with. I spent many years globally working on customer service improvement and processes with large and small companies and I have to say this is quite the worst company I have had to deal with.
They don’t answer the telephone or email and do not respond to emergencies in timely fashion..
Their control of sub contractors are non existent who travel from distant location 90 miles away and do nothing to justify their trip and go away never to be heard from again. Trying to follow up with ANSA themselves as their telephone system times out after a short period of 3 minutes OR just rings forever? They don’t even respond to emails from loss adjusters or surveyors employed by NFU who also have to be part of the problem in having them as an Approved Supplier.
They were even sacked by loss adjusters by email and didn’t even respond to the sacking except to call to arrange a follow up appointment two weeks later!
Total waste of time would score minus if possible!

Incompetent

My 93 year old mother has a water leak between the internal and external stopcock. The insurance company organised for Ansa to investigate. They arrived, after one week and after l had to chase them into action, their so call ‘engineers’ sat outside the property for half an hour drinking tea/coffee and eating, then they asked to look at the meter, they said there wasn’t a problem; told their supervisor they had been there for over half an hour and that the meter wasn’t going round with the internal stopcock closed. The supervisor phoned me and questioned my analysis over that of their experienced water ‘engineers’ who the left the property despite being presented with the evidence of a massive water bill (5 times the normal bill) for one person. I visited the property today and videoed the meter turning with the internal stopcock closed. Water is flowing at approximately 0.5litres a minute !
