Worst hospital and doctors in Florida

Worst hospital and doctors in Florida. Tried to book an appointment with my doctor and you get an answering service to go through. Also, they no longer do blood work. The doctors and hospitals should not be in business. Would rate them as a minus 10

I am writing to formally report several…

I am writing to formally report several concerns regarding the care my 81-year-old father, received during his visit and admission to your hospital. My father has dementia, and we brought him to the Emergency Department on Sunday, December 7th, because he suddenly stopped speaking in complete words, and we were worried he might have had a stroke.

The care we received in the Emergency Department was professional. The staff informed us that my father needed to stay for an MRI, and my daughter stayed with him overnight. On Monday morning, I arrived at 7:00 AM, and my daughter left.

Throughout the day, the day nurse was professional, respectful, and attentive. However, I did need to ask multiple times for water for my father. Later in the afternoon, I asked if someone could help bathe my father. Instead, I was handed soap so that I could bathe him myself. I explained that I was not comfortable doing so, and the nurse said he was busy and would do it later, which he eventually did.

In the evening, a night nurse arrived with a negative attitude, making faces at the day nurse and appearing upset and uninterested in being there. During this shift, my father was taken for his MRI. About 30 minutes later, staff called to say he was upset. I had to go calm him down. He is not an aggressive person, but he does have dementia, and the MRI machine scared him.

When we returned to the room, another nurse—who was very professional—explained that my father had fallen and had scratches from the incident. No one treated the scratches.

Later that night, around 1:21 AM, my daughter called me because my father had urinated on the floor and on himself, and the staff was not responding. When they finally came, they cleaned the floor using his blanket and did not change his clothes or provide a clean blanket. At that point, I decided it was best to check him out of the hospital.

I am extremely concerned about the lack of proper care, respect, and attention given to a senior patient with dementia. This experience was distressing for my father and for our family. I strongly recommend additional training for staff on how to properly care for patients with dementia and how to maintain dignity, hygiene, and professionalism.

I respectfully request that this incident be reviewed, and that steps be taken to ensure situations like this do not happen to other patients or families.

Thank you for your attention to this matter. I look forward to your response.

Sincerely,

My daughter was admitted into Advent…

My daughter was admitted into Advent Health Hospital in Kissimmee, FL. Friday January 2, 2026. My daughter had been so ill at home I was worried. She was told she had Influenza Strain A by a Telehealth Physician. I urge my daughter to let me call an ambulance but finally she was taken to the hospital. I literally called all over the county looking for my daughter and finally I found her she had been admitted and was in PCU because she was Sepsis. I spoke to her nurse in the a.m. she was nice but then my daughter called me in the p.m. and said she had a nurse in her room being aggressive throwing things and telling her to get out to just sign herself out of the hospital. What has happened to our Health System that we allowed this kind of Nurse to be with our love ones. We are entrusting this kind of a Health worker to watch over our love ones. I contacted Luis the Charge Nurse and he assured me the Nurse that verbally assaulted my daughter would not be back in her room. But this same Nurse will be able to continue to be with patients. I am going to try and change that. She has to be held accountable for her actions. It does not matter what a Nurse feels like when she clocks in. If you can't separate personal with professional go home. Some patients are so sick sometimes they are not themselves. Tolerating this comes with the job. A good Nurse would of dealt with the situation professionally instead of slamming things around in the room. When she realized my daughter was on the phone with me she stopped. This situation really bothers me. We need to hold people accountable for their poor decisions. What concerns me this was probably not the first time this Nurse conducted herself like this and she will continue doing this unless we stop he. Accountability is the key to stop the bad behavior.

Advent Health Parker Hospital

Advent Health Parker Hospital, CO specifically, however, the whole Advent Health system is a complete sham!! I had a breast MRI at that location Dec.30, 2025. They told me it would be 48 hrs for results. This was not a screening MRI, but rather a necessary step after 2 abnormal previous tests! I am still waiting for results!!! It is now past 72 hrs…
I contacted my Dr office (also an Advent Health provider) sent a note in the portal hoping “someone” would read it and respond, as my Dr retired as of Dec. 31, 2025! NO transition of care, and only response was from a MA who said, “we don’t see any results posted, we’ll have someone call you when they’re posed and reviewed.”

Is this really where we are in our state of healthcare- completely impersonal, non-patient centric, all about revenue, crap all over people who we couldn’t care less about!!??
Hoping at some point to obtain my results, and then I’m out! Completely out of “Advent we couldn’t care less about you Health”. The search for an actual good, caring provider starts… now!

I rated 1 star as '0' was not an option. As a healthy adult I opted for this insurance for emergency situations. I decided that a major medical plan would be better after a year of not submitting a single claim to adventhealth for entire year 2025. They auto renewed me without notice for 2026. I called the day after their charge to my account, spoke with a rep called Nathan who told me that I would not get a refund because I had not let them know by Jan 2025 that I would want a refund of Jan 2026 pmt. What?? How would I have known a year ago? I looked for local numbers to submit my concern to try to get my Jan 2026 pmt back but all numbers are out of India. Watch out.

Very unhappy with service provider

I was referred to Melissa Smith by my surgeon prior to my total knee replacement. I had explained to him that I have fairly severe restless legs syndrome (RLS) and was concerned about my ability to sleep sufficiently as well as do the necessary physical therapy for proper recovery post surgery.

My husband accompanied me to my first meeting with Missy. We explained my situation with RLS and that there is a very long wait list (six months) to see an RLS neurologist. She stated that she would prescribe enough Oxycodone to get me through until my scheduled appointment with the neurologist in February.

Our second meeting was virtual and she reluctantly refilled a small number of pills.

At our third and final in-person meeting with Missy, I provided her with treatment guidelines which had been given to me personally, by Dr. Andy Berkowski of Michigan; vice chair of the AASM task force who specializes in RLS treatment. He is also the co-author of the standard RLS treatment guidelines 2025. He is unable to prescribe in Colorado as he is not licensed in the state but he can provide guidance.

Missy refused to even look at these guidelines and dismissed Dr. Berkowski with a comment of “anybody can write a book”. Dr. Michael Silber professor of neurology at Mayo Clinic College of medicine and science in Rochester, Minnesota has also said that Refractory RLS is treatable by low-dose opioids.

Missy has either since changed her mind about refilling my prescription for Oxycodone or she lied at that first meeting to dismiss me.

Missy re-stated that she does not treat RLS, yet she said that she has women under her care who are using Pramipexole for RLS. Pramipexole has long been known to severely augment RLS symptoms and has since been removed from the most current recommended treatment guidelines. I should note, Dr. Berkowski said to me that I would not need his help with my RLS if I had not been on Pramipexole.

Missy did not offer any other solutions and sarcastically said to me good luck in finding anyone to prescribe oxycodone for my RLS and just walked out of our meeting.

Girlfriend was having seizures and…

Girlfriend was having seizures and passing out, (I had to carry her in) she could barely walk and we got sent back to the waiting room 2 times, we were there for 2+ hours before finally getting a room (only when I said we were leaving to actually receive help), finally get a room and I leave to move my car for me to find out a male nurse told everyone back there that she was faking it to make everyone in the waiting room feel bad, also man handling her as she is shaking uncontrollably out of the wheel chair we finally got. Very unprofessional, and I have never dealt with that at any hospital (on Frontage Road, Merriam, KS). Don't know if it was because we were young or what, but I will not be going back. Horrible experience, and I wish I knew who told her that and manhandled her so I could bring it up to a higher up.

They hire doctors that are irresponsible

I have had two Advent doctors in the past year that just up and left their practice and left me without a doctor for months at a time.
The first doctor left around a year ago leaving me without a doctor. They told me I could switch to another doctor in the office, but When I did it took me months to get my first appointment, so all together I was without a doctor for about 6 months.
Then, I finally had my appointment with that doctor and soon after that she up and left. She said she would be back in 6 months.
Again they told me I could switch to a different doctor in the office, and I tried to do that, but it didn't go through and by the time I finally did get switched to another doctor in the office - which I had to get someone higher up at Advent to intervene in order to do! - then again, I had to wait months for my first appointment.
Before my second appointment that doctor up and left and now I have no doctor again.
Technically I have a doctor, but when I told her I needed a referral because I had an emergency, she told me she couldn't give me a referral because she hasn't seen me yet.
I said yes, I haven't seen you yet because you wouldn't allow me to see you yet and I've been months without a doctor now.

This is the kind of care you get with Advent doctors.
These two were both trained in non-United states schools, and I guess they must think it's okay to just up and leave their practice.

ALLOPATHIC SICK AND DEATH CARE

PERTAINING TO THE ADVENTHEALTH LOCATION AT 301 MEMORIAL MEDICAL PARKWAY IN DAYTONA BEACH:

My family member went into this hospital alert -- and is now fighting for her life due to the reckless decisions made by the staff. After complications from a previous back surgery, she checked in feeling unwell but conscious. They convinced her to undergo invasive procedures, pumped her with antibiotics, sedated her with Propofol, and placed her on a ventilator. Worst of all, they failed to provide basic IV nutrition for over a week while she was unconscious.

Rather than working to help her recover, staff deferred to a DNR order initiated by her partner. This facility failed her -- and may fail others. Avoid at all costs hospitals in general are now treating the elderly like things to be discarded and are potentially engaging in practices that seem to have more of a likelihood to facilitate demise than recovery. This is probably why so many hospitals love the word memorial. Because many people end up losing their lives in hospitals and these so called institutions of health become places where the last memories of your loved ones being alive are memorialized.

To me, hospitals are elderly concentrations camps. Where their well being is considered inferior to their bottom line. Which is money and facilitating the agendas of those who actually don't think living is the most beneficial outcome, especially for the elderly, but sick care and making you sicker care.

To those who know, you saw what hospitals were capable of during the PLANdemic, when they treated and labeled everything as covid, then proceeded to give people the NIH death protocols of Remdesivir, Morphine and Ventilators a combination which facilitated death, which allowed them to insidiously collect federal incentives for doing exactly that. [40-100k per covid death] Which is why you didn't see anyone dying from the alleged Covid in the street. It was almost always in hospitals. NOW WHAT A COVENIENT COINCIDENCE.

Based on mortality statistics, Hospitals Truly are Death Camps. The anti human Eugenicist Rockefeller Senior, the godfather of allopathic medi-SIN would be so proud of his progeny; after all, he is responsible for making hospitals the egregious places that they are today.

Karma forgets not those who did evil but adds it to the storehouse of things that they must pay for in future experiences that oftentimes they know not why they came. No one escapes the evil they do.

Shocked by ridiculous cost of this…

Shocked by ridiculous cost of this company!!! I recently visited Florida from Ireland and developed a very nasty UTI overnight. I visited advent health to seek help as it was on a list from the hotel. I explained I had an infection and that I would like to see a doctor to hopefully get an antibiotic. (I’ve had them before) I was seen, a sample taken and antibiotic prescribed. Straight forward…aside from the billing. I was horrified to learn the cost was over 1400 dollars!!! Absolutely scandalous for what was essentially a dip test and prescription. I had travel insurance but a pain trying to get sorted. Eventually I paid the excess and my travel insurance said they would sort the rest. I later received an email to say I owed over 1700 dollars!!??? Then one from my travel insurance to say they had settled the bill. Then…and we are now 3 weeks later …I’ve received another bill from them saying I owe over 1700.. This is not justifiable and normal pricing for such medical treatment. I’ve spoken to my medical friends here and it’s a joke!!

Advent Health fired my Ob/Gyn who I have been seeing for years. I need to see him a couple of times a year and fly down to Fla for 2 of these visits. I heard about this from an employee and it was confirmed by the office. Dr. Hankinson is the most understanding and intelligent doctors I have met and I am a nurse. To fire him for educating patients is criminal. Above all do no harm. Does this mean anything. Advent is just in it for the money. They might as well hire robots

Adventhealth Riverview

This place has no idea what they are doing. The are over burden due to lack of staff. They are constantly holding people in the Emergency room after they are admitted to the hospital. You simply wait until they find you a bed. I waited from 11am-11pm and never was actually admitted. Well they say I was and thus have to pay for a hospital stay even though I never made it to a room. I came in at 5am. At 11pm I walked out. Yes that is 18hrs of waiting. I was given one test. More was ordered but never performed. When asked about getting the ordered test done I was told that department went home for the day. Why was I still there then? No test... no room... HORRIBLE EXPERIENCE!!!!

I went back in to talk with people in charge and was told they would look into it. Surprise surprise nothing was done and now they want me to pay for test ordered, and a hospital stay plus who knows what else. I still haven't received an itemized bill.

If you need emergency help, if possible I urgently request you go somewhere else.

UPDATE June 15th 2025: I have to give them credit for making this right. They have waved ALL expenses for my visit. Original bills were for over $20,000.

Most greedy charge without result and no customer service

The doctor Paul Berger my son saw is the most greedy and incapable one we have run into for more than 20 years. He wasted our time talking about unrelated things like his marriage and his children and his family vacation just to extend our regular new patient appointment to fill in the slot not filled that day to charge us for both slots. And he didn't provide any helpful information for the headache issue we saw him for. And he even made up some false statements about the visits. What's worse is that the company didn't contact me to investigate the issue but just trust the doctor only though I have told them to investigate. The charge $400+ is the highest ever we saw since he charged us all the time he told us his stories instead of actual time on the issue even without exam my son. I told the company multiple times the facts but nobody cares and they just sent me the bill. I hope they will respect the facts I told them so many times and only charge a reasonable amount though we didn't get any result from the visit. Our following visit to a specialist with much better results and real exam only charged us $174 which is common amount from our past experiences too.
