Cold and unprofessional
I never leave reviews but this just hasn’t felt right for days. Firstly it felt like the woman doing the scan had just had to come in on her day off, appearing 5 mins after us and in her trackies. I had to bring my young daughter as it was the only slot we could do and she got upset when I went on the bed and was getting touched as I expected. My instinct was to give her a cuddle or see if she could come on the bed but the women obviously wanted to get it done. I instantly felt uncomfortable. She told me to just ignore her and made no effort to engage her at all. Felt like she also just ignored my partner. She said the scan was short because my daughter was crying. In what should’ve been a nice experience it felt cold and rushed. To top it all off in my envelope I have received 4 of my scan pics and 1 of someone else’s. Very unprofessional, wouldn’t recommend.

A peaceful and welcoming environment from both staff and the setup of the clinic. After reading reviews, I was sceptical that I had picked the wrong one, however, I cannot fault the service and support provided at the Motherwell clinic.

I’m absolutely heartbroken and disappointed with my experience at the ABC4D Ayr clinic. I went for a reassurance scan after previous miscarriages, hoping for some comfort and peace of mind — instead, I left even more upset.
The whole scan lasted less than a minute. I was in and out of the room so quickly that it barely felt like an appointment. I even had to ask if my baby had a heartbeat, which should have been something they told me right away, especially given how emotional and important this was for me.
When I raised my concerns by email, I was ignored and dismissed. The lack of empathy and professionalism has been shocking. Their responses have made me feel like I’m being called a liar, even though I’ve told them they can check the cameras to see how short my time in the room actually was.
After paying £67 for what was meant to be a reassurance scan, I feel completely let down. I know people who’ve gone to the Greenock clinic and had lovely, detailed scans, but my experience at Ayr was nothing like that.
I would not recommend this clinic at all, especially if you’re looking for reassurance during a sensitive time. The way I’ve been treated has left me deeply upset and disappointed.
heartbreaking experience here.. so unprofessional
I had a heartbreaking experience here where my 26wk old baby was found without a heartbeat - the sonographer didn’t seem to know what to do - the clinic provided no continuity or transfer of care, no follow up, just charged me the full amount (around £150) and sent me on my way - they said they would send me a dvd and photos if I wanted this (I did, as a precious memento) but when I felt strong enough to watch the dvd there was nothing on it 😔 I emailed to query this and got a rude reply then all follow up emails were ignored. How they can put money before a baby who has passed away and bereaved parents is beyond me. Director Brian Williamson displayed behaviour towards my husband that has no place in our society. Please avoid and support a kinder business 💔

We had a great experience at our 4D scan at the Edinburgh clinic and managed to get some great pictures even though baby had both her hands up at her face. Sarah the sonographer was so lovely and laughed along with us through the scan. We were offered a free re-scan since baby wasn't totally cooperative but we were very happy with the images that we managed to get so declined. Thank you so much again for a great experience 🙂
They Cancelled my appointment on 04/07…
They Cancelled my appointment on 04/07 because the sonographer “wasn’t available” and then rebooked for 06/07 and got a call one hour before my appointment was due to say the sonographer again “wasn’t available” due to a “last minute thing” - absolutely ridiculous and have wasted my time and money. Can’t even get through to them to get a refund. So unreliable and will tell everyone to stay away
No communication
Not yet received my gender scan but I’m sure other women can agree your emotions are very heightened during pregnancy. So I booked my Gender Scan almost a week ago and have been patiently waiting for it tonight. Had went and told everyone that I was so excited to find out had a whole night planned out with family who took time off work etc to fit in with this schedule. I then got a clear thought and realised I did not receive a confirmation email but the money and everything was too without any issues. I then called up and was advised the clinic had been cancelled for tonight. I was in no way contacted about this? Yes it has been rescheduled but I’m now left extremely disappointed and had to break it to my young niece who is now crying. What would have happened when I showed up tonight? Feel there should have been communication around this!

I attended the greenock clinic yesterday 18th May 2024
The lady who performed my scan was beyond excellent, such lovley manners and spoke so gentle and made it a nic3 experience. We were there for wellbeing and gender reveal, baby wasnt playing ball and took to napping facing my back 🤣 with 4 other children waiting at home to find out the scanner was determined to get this baby moving! She took as much time as needed until she was comfortable with listing a gender. We chose not to find out and discover we are having our 4th boy along with family and the kids 💙🥰 would highly recommend
Avoid at all costs!
We booked for NIPT testing with ABC4D Falkirk branch on 30th December. We were told on the day we should receive the results in 5-7 days but the staff were hopeful we would get them by Friday 05 January.
We called and ended up speaking to Chris (from the ayr branch possibly) on 05 January in the afternoon, just to see if the results were available as we hadn’t heard. Chris was very helpful and started making enquiries with the lab. Ultimately, he established the lab had no record of receiving the blood sample and that the Royal Mail tracking number was shown as undelivered.
Chris then offered us additional testing on Sunday 07 January which we initially agreed to. However, we decided against this as it was a matter of days before our scheduled NHS scan/blood test. Chris then agreed to a full refund. His customer service was fantastic and the staff in Falkirk branch were also brilliant- we do not have a complaint regarding the staff in Falkirk, customer service call handlers or Chris.
However, we have been left with no choice but to leave a complaint which we are also submitting to HIS. We chose abc4d due to them being regulated by HIS and advertising as fully insured. This made us feel like they were the company to trust over others.
An official complaint via email was raised on the 8th January regarding the missing blood, subsequent missing results and request for a refund. Despite numerous emails and phonecalls giving the director the chance to acknowledge the missing blood test, therefore results and request for a refund we are still awaiting their response to this day. We have however now been refunded for the test via a lovely customer service person.
We were repeatedly told the complaint was with the director and they would get back to us. On calling, they were either not available or ‘had just nipped out’.We still have not had any official acknowledgment of the error or the fact my blood sample is missing. Is my data protected? What efforts have been made to get the sample returned so as it can be properly disposed off? What have they done to ensure this doesn’t happen to someone else?
Clearly this falls way short of the service you would expect from what advertises as a reputable and professional company. Whilst we appreciate that this was a busy time of year for Royal Mail, if abc4d were not able to guarantee delivery of the blood sample, would it not have made more sense not to offer the testing over the festive period? Or consider an alternative courier as provided by other company’s?
Very disappointing service and would not recommended this company to others which is such a shame and largely due to their poor complaints handling from management.
Place is a joke
I went for a early baby scan, they put that much pressure onto me they have reopened my c section scar what a have had for 7 years a have been in that much pain the last couple of days a have struggled to walk, move around a have also been put on antibiotics and also have to go to the treatment room every couple of days to make sure a don’t get any infections and also to make sure it’s not getting any worse

Place is a joke book a scan for Wednesday the 14th and had paid for it for them to tell me that I can’t come to scan as they’re only doing reassurance scans which I booked. Shambles of a place will not be using ever again money hasn’t been refunded yet so I can rebook a scan else where. Do not recommend this place to anyone!

I booked an early REASSURANCE scan two weeks ago! I then get an email today to say my appointment on Saturday has to be rescheduled. I asked for an alternative the women Shaunni told me Sunday, I then asked about different places and the only place they had on the same day was Edinburgh at 1pm. I live 45 minutes away from Edinburgh. I then asked what time on Sunday to be told it’s now gone. The next appointment is in a weeks time! This company should take into consideration that people like myself booked a reassurance scan is counting down the minutes, our anixeties are through the room and to be told sorry your appointment is cancelled and csnt rescheduled for another week isn’t on. I then asked for a refund so I could immediately book something else and was told 3-5 working days. This isn’t good enough! You should be ashamed of yourself. Please don’t book her for an early scan as you’ll be let down last minute and the advisor Shaunni did not show any remorse. This is peoples heads there messing with. You shouldn’t cancel peoples appointment unless you can offer them another with 24 hours.
Excellent experiences.
Visited ABC4D 3 times since finding out we were expecting and can’t fault it at all. First time we visited the Greenock clinic and the two further times were the Ayr clinic. All the staff especially the Ayr clinic were absolutely lovely.
Can’t wait to go back for a 4D scan when I’m slightly further along and will definitely visit them for future pregnancies.
Areas for improvement
I went for an early scan were they could not confirm a pregnancy and was advised to go back two weeks later for a further scan. All of the advice given was helpful. Staff were nice and friendly. The waiting room is spacious but very dark and hot. I was mortified getting my scans as there is a window in the door covered by a bit of white roll were you can see in/out. I got an internal scan and feel like there isn’t enough privacy. My details on my scan pictures were also incorrect both times.

If you could please reply reply to my complaint which was raised more than 14 days rather than ignore me completely and my follow up emails. Clearly don't know how to treat your customers. There was a mistake on your website I literally booked it 2 days before for the 14th but you would rather keep my money for doing nothing rather than take my complaint seriously. I wish I read the other reviews before even wasting my money here.

A very good experience, we arrived and were greeted by lovely staff and seen to straight away. Scan room was very comfortable for those with me and a large screen made it easy for everyone to see. Would recommend to others.
