Re-Roof Disaster
Hiring 1Source Home Solutions, LLC, a Division of 1Source Industries, a roofing company located in Rockmart, GA, to re-roof our home after Hurricane Helene (Sep 2024) storm damage WAS THE BIGGEST MISTAKE I HAVE EVER MADE.
Before hiring 1Source Home Solutions, LLC – We verified the following:
They are a Master Elite Certified GAF installer, WHICH SPECIFICALLY STATES THEY ARE LIVING UP TO - GAF CODE OF CONDUCT – for honesty in dealing with customers. 1Source also had verifiable liability and work comp insurance coverage and we obtained a certificate of insurance (COI) in my name for each. The Better Business Bureau (BBB) had no complaints listed and other online reviews showed 5 stars. Their LLC is registered with the Secretary of State in GA.
The re-roof was Dec. 2024, and we have been trying to get them to repair our home since then. (Currently - Dec. 2025) The 1Source answer to my efforts is to SAY they take customer concerns seriously, YET their ACTIONS are to IGNORE all our efforts to OBTAIN THEIR COOPERATION to REPAIR OUR HOME.
On re-roof day, I could tell there were problems, and I made them aware of the problems that same day. They came back to repair the ongoing roof leak a week later. I called their attention to all the damage to my home done by their crew and their representative refused to see the damage and was disrespectfully dismissive as I cautioned him about the actions of their crew.
Their crew failed to protect our home from roofing debris falling. The crew used goo gone graffiti remover to clean the black roofing scratches left all over our hard coat color stucco. This caused permanent bleaching of the color coat. Their contract says they will exercise caution – unfortunately – this did not happen at our home. While they brought tarps – no tarps were used to protect the home.
We were so alarmed by what we saw, and damage to our home, we hired a roof inspector, Jan. 2025. The inspector is also Master Elite Certified by GAF with over 20 years experience. The results of this inspection confirmed our worst fears.
Inspector stated - "The roof installation was BELOW ANY ACEPTABLE STANDARD for any GAF Timberline HDZ roof system." "THE ONLY REMEDY IS TO REPLACE THE ROOF AND RESTORE IT TO PROPER STANDARDS AND INSUSTRY PRACTICES.” Thanks to 1Source Home Solutions, LLC., we have a FAILED ROOF INSTALLATION and NO WARRANTY as a GAF warranty is dependent upon proper installation. The roof inspector found more damage. The details of the findings are available in the videos attached to this post.
After attempting to communicate directly with 1Source representatives and being treated with a dismissive response, we hired an attorney to communicate with 1Source. A certified letter and the inspection report were provided in Feb. 2025, and again in June 2025 we sent the damage and cost of repair.
WE ASKED THEM TO REFUND OUR DEPOSIT AND CONTACT THEIR LIABILITY INSURANCE TO COOPERATE WITH REPAIRING OUR HOME. 1Source has made NO attempt to take responsibility and or correct the damage they caused. July 2025, we attempted a claim against 1Source Home Solutions, LLC liability insurance. We received a claim number and no one with the liability company will respond to our phone calls or emails. We also filed an official complaint with GAF regarding their Master Elite Certification and the Code of Conduct failures. Even with this knowledge and the roof inspection report provided to them, GAF continues to promote this roofer as competent and trustworthy as 1Source remains listed as a Master Elite Certified installer.
Our attempts to research and assess this company failed us. We are a senior couple and our experience with hiring 1Source Home Solutions, LLC, left us emotionally and financially devastated.
