Started my Word Tonic Journey In December 2024 and plan on staying with them for the future! The Word Tonic community is invaluable when it comes to supporting young copywriters, or simply helping lost individuals who are not sure where they can take their creative writing careers.

Word Tonic provides its members with masterclasses, online meetings, homework, copy briefs and much more. Not to mention Word Tonic's copywriting course makes you look desirable when applying to jobs and networking in the creative industry.

I look forward to what future suprises Word Tonic will bring to my table, and I highly recommend young creatives to give it a go!

Joined in December last year because I was at my breaking point. I wasn't getting any responses from jobs and all the other copywriting course were a little out of my price range. That's when I found Word Tonic through one of my mutuals on LinkedIN. A community of Gen-Z writers sounded too good to be true but as I worked through their discourse channels and bought their copywriting course, I have vastly improved my copywriting skills. I now post more content on my website and LinkedIn and got the courage to send messages to people who are experts in their fields.
I'm also asking for portfolio feedback from the word tonic community and they are helping me to improve for future clients/employers.
Also they have a creative writing channel which i love!
All in all if you're a gen-z writer and don't where to start, I'd say join Word Tonic. It really does help!

Word Tonic is an amazing community that I had the pleasure of joining a couple months ago. They have this beautiful message that copywriting is for absolutely everyone, and they encourage you to follow your copywriting dreams no matter what! They have these awesome masterclasses you can join once you become a member, and there's even a Discord community you become a part of. In that community, you meet follow beginner and experienced copywriters, and you have all these amazing resources at your fingertips like what makes great copy and how to write it. Overall, I think Word Tonic is worth spending your time and money in. It really does make you a great writer, and it makes you see that you can pursue a world you never thought you could pursue. You can put your foot in the door and make your dreams come true. Thank you, Word Tonic, for amazing lessons so far! Can't wait to learn more.

I've really enjoyed the networking and referral opportunities that have come from being part of the Word Tonic - Carolyn has done a fantastic job establishing it as a mainstay of the copywriting industry and providing a valuable space for Gen Zs to connect professionally, and personally.

Herein lies a marvelous community of creative and talented bunch, always willing to help others and give advice.

Recently I've been curious about what counts as "revolutionizing." I might think that Word Tonic can work as one, as it paves the way into "business" without losing the self. I've seen personas forced to comply into uniform, so the open spirit of Word Tonic along with professionalism is PEAK. It makes me feel free and able instead of just trudging through.

Word Tonic has been an amazing community to be a part of! I have learnt so much about creating engaging copy and have enjoyed engaging with the plethora of masterclasses from some of my favourite brands.
The community aspect of Word Tonic is amazing as we all share copy we've made and give each other feedback, participate in challenges and sometimes share cool copy we've seen in the wild! Thanks to Word Tonic I have been able to build my portfolio and even secure a position as a content creator for a charity!

Before the end of 2024, I was casually spamming instagram reels with my best friend when she sent me the profile of an account by the name of Word Tonic. Intrigued by the colors and the funky font, I took a peek.

Now Word Tonic is my whole personality.

What exactly is Word Tonic, you ask? I mean, besides the best community of young writers learning to hone their skills and delve into the world of copywriting?

Okay, but seriously, before finding out about Word Tonic, I didn't know much about copywriting. I'd see the word floating around, but never knew what it meant. Then one fateful day (after my best friend sent me their instagram), I saw an ad for a free copywriting call. Intrigued, I signed up for it.

It was the best decision ever.

Just the call alone taught me a little bit about copywriting. The phrases on billboard ads, company slogans, radio jingles. Those are all copywriting, and I wanted to know how to come up with memorable slogans like those.

So, I took a leap and joined Word Tonic.

I'm learning so many great copywriting tips and I'm able to join in calls with employees from companies like Doc Martens and Logitech.

Honestly, I can feel myself becoming a more productive person since joining Word Tonic and I'm glad I took that step forward into becoming a future copywriter.

Word Tonic has been an amazing resource during my career switch from finance to marketing and communications. The Gen-Z community, especially on the Discord channel, is incredible. Everyone is so supportive, sharing advice, feedback, and opportunities. It’s a space that truly encourages growth and creativity.

Their briefs and masterclasses are fantastic. The briefs challenge you to think outside the box and have helped me build a strong portfolio, while the masterclasses (featuring experts from brands like Duolingo, Crunchyroll, and Airbnb) offer practical, real-world insights. I’ve applied what I’ve learned here, such as improving my social media copywriting and connecting with audiences, directly in my job, and it’s made a significant difference.

If you’re looking to grow your skills and connect with like-minded creatives, I can’t recommend Word Tonic enough!

Before I joined Word Tonic, I was doing a STEM course I hated. I literally had no clue what to do after I graduated, and that was terrifying me. Genuinely keeping me up at night.

Now, I'm still in that course and I still hate it, BUT I know where I'm going and what I'm doing. I've found something that gets me really excited that I can actually make a career out of. There's so much positivity, helpful advice and feedback, interesting discussion, not to mention the masterclasses which I've taken loads of notes from. Everyone I've talked to has been such a cool person, it's such a friendly and tight-knit community especially considering how big it is. I feel like I've made friends and found my direction in life.

If you're in a similar situation, and you think copywriting might be the answer, then I really think you should join, at least for a month. You've not got much to lose and it could unlock a whole new world of opportunities to you.

You don't even JUST learn copywriting. I learnt a lot about the freelancing industry more generally and how it's actually way more feasible and than I thought. I learnt LOADS about navigating LinkedIn, networking, and making opportunities for yourself.

I so appreciate that Word Tonic makes this so accessible to someone who maybe hasn't been exposed to all the career possibilities or been taught about businesssy stuff, instead of being one of those shady YouTube gurus who promise their £500 copywriting course will get you earning £10,000 in a month.

Sorry this review is super sappy I promise I'm not being paid to write this, I'm just really passionate about it; my life has been so turned around.

This is such a great community to be a part of - when I decided copywriting might be the career for me, I had no idea where to start. Word Tonic has been incredible at giving me a network of writers who I can ask for advice and who are kind and supportive to all who do! There are loads of upcoming events and an archive of recording of previous masterclasses, workshops etc.

Would highly recommend if you're stuck and want to try a different method for getting your career of the ground.

Joining Word Tonic has been one of the best choices I've ever made. I graduated with a Bachelor's in Communications and had heard about copywriting as a career, but I had no idea how to reach that goal.

One day, I saw an Instagram ad for Word Tonic about how I could write about food for a living. That was the beginning of my fantastic journey with them. I became a member as soon as possible, finished the Copywriting Certificate course in a week, and constantly watched the masterclass recordings.

Word Tonic has been so welcoming and helpful to me! I joined last October and have made lots of progress with my copywriting skills and portfolio.

I've watched quite a few masterclasses that they do with big voices in the industry, they're very insightful and I've never seen anything else like it online!

The briefs that they post on their Discord have also been helpful, boosting my confidence in writing and giving me something to add to my portfolio. I cannot recommend this community enough!

A pretty good place to connect remotely with other like-minded writers and creatives, especially for those interested in copywriting!

I only joined in late 2023, and already have been involved with doing some fun prompts/exercises, including a submission for one of their anthologies in early 2024, and also participation for a London perfume brand via a contest on creating PR copy.
My writing and graphic design skills have improved since being involved at Word Tonic, and even more so I've gotten attention on the likes of LinkedIn, with growing connections and interest in my portfolio and current work experience. Plus their course I've recently started is quite a bit of fun, learning all the ins and outs about how it all works in the world of copy.

If you're interested in this as a Gen-Z person or perhaps a little older, and if you're a newbie or have some experience in copywriting, this is the community to check out! :)

Joining Word Tonic was the best decision I made for my career. Hearing about a Gen Z, female-led copywriting community had me intrigued but I never could've imagined it would have gotten me where I am now.

Word Tonic brings an abundance of real opportunities to connect with senior copywriters and industry pros who’ve worked with some of the biggest brands out there. You get to discuss writing with writers from Google, Kylie Cosmetics, Disney and more. Through their advice and support, I landed my current job (initially as a junior copywriter, made a mid-weight just under a year in).

Before Word Tonic, my freelancing business was pretty small and I was primarily working with small businesses in my area. Now, thanks to their guidance and networking opportunities, I’ve expanded my freelance clientele in ways I never thought possible. Writing the script for Spotify’s first-ever ‘Wrapped Live’ was like a fever dream and nothing I would've imagined doing so early into my career, and I’ve since worked with brands like GUESS, GUESSKIDS, Marciano, Bumble, and Badoo. Honestly, I’ve flourished here in ways I couldn’t have imagined.

Beyond career growth, Word Tonic gave me a platform to share my expertise. I’ve been a guest speaker, inspiring new copywriters, and even served as a course instructor teaching others how to write effective scripts. The community itself is super friendly, full of fun, cool, creative and authentic people who genuinely want to help each other succeed while keeping things chill and informal.

If you’re looking to grow as a writer, connect with top-tier professionals, and join a group of supportive and inspiring creatives, I can’t recommend Word Tonic enough. It’s not just a community— if used correctly it can be a launchpad for your career.

It's the PERFECT place for people who want to get into copywork, AND for more experience people. Even if you ignore the absolute top notch course they have and the masterclasses with big brands/charities, the community itself is worth it. Having people to bounce ideas off, to get advice from, to give you that important feedback on work AND help you build a banging portfolio.
Not only that, but there's so many niche areas to get involved in - my personal favourites are the creative writing areas (where we write a whole anthology that feature work from members) and the game writing niche!

I found Word Tonic after a few years of copywriting, but I was lacking direction. I’ve been a member since April 2023 and plan to be for much longer.

Being able to join masterclasses, practice with the weekly briefs, and most importantly, get to talk to other young writers has been invaluable to my career.

Carolyn is an amazing founder and also community member, always eager to support members which I love. It’s brilliant that this community is female-founded with young writers TRULY in mind.

I seriously recommended Word Tonic to newbie writers and also those with a bit more experience. There’s no pressure- you can be as involved as much or as little as you want with the community.

So many great opportunities for learning/networking! I joined Word Tonic last year and didn’t interact at all. Then, after going backpacking, I rejoined in August with a tan, a tattoo, and two degrees, but no portfolio or copywriting experience.

By September, I’d been connected with a mentor who was offering support with copywriting through an neurodivergent lens. Then, by October, I’d received a job offer and am now working as a junior copywriter for a large UK charity.
