I have finally paid off my woolworths account that was ceded to a debt agency, wfs refuses to acknowledge that the debt is paid and keeps sending statements with an amount due, when I call they say it will remain as owed forever. But I have settled the debt.
Nightmare Gift Card experience
I tried to order a Gift Voucher to send to a relation.
Nightmare since last Tuesday their Website doesn’t work.
Ended up going through an e Gift website after 3 calls to their customer call centre. They email you with ref nos and you don’t hear again.

Woolworths online experience
I initially visited the Woolworths store near South Beach to purchase two lamps. As they were not available in-store, I was advised to place the order online. I did so using my South African number (data-only) and confirmed my hotel address for delivery. I also added a special instruction requesting that the items be left at the hotel reception, and I informed the hotel staff to expect the delivery. Since I was travelling back to my country soon, I paid an additional R75 for express delivery.
However, the order never arrived. The tracking status showed “out for delivery” and later “incorrect address,” even though the address was correct. I contacted the help line multiple times:
On the first day, I was told the courier would be advised.
On the second day, the first operator put me on hold for over 20 minutes and then disconnected. When I called again, the same thing happened with a second operator.
On my third attempt, the operator was helpful. She called me back and suggested that, given the urgency, I go directly to the warehouse to collect the package.
I travelled to the warehouse myself but was not told who to contact. After considerable inconvenience, I eventually located the Skynet office and managed to collect my order.
This entire experience was extremely disappointing, especially considering that I paid for express delivery.
DO NOT order overnight shipping from Woolworths
DO NOT order overnight shipping from Woolworths for a special event. I ordered a duffel bag from Woolworths online on 28 October and paid extra for overnight delivery because it was meant to be a birthday gift needed by the 30th. On 29 October, I received an SMS saying: “Your order will be delivered before 5pm on 29-Oct.” By 4:15pm there was no delivery. I called Woolworths and was told my parcel was “out for delivery.” I called again at 5pm and was told the same thing , but shockingly, the agent admitted that they have no contact with the courier. How do you hand over customer parcels to a courier you can’t even reach?! I stayed at work an extra hour waiting for this parcel that never came. At 17:45 I called again, got a new tracking number from a different agent, and discovered the parcel was with Skynet Worldwide Express, who were already closed by then. The next morning (30 Oct), I called again and was told something completely different: apparently, the item wasn’t even being sent to me, it was being moved from one warehouse to a store first! So Woolworths knew they couldn’t fulfil overnight delivery, but they still took my payment and sent me an SMS promising delivery by 5pm! Now they’re saying the parcel will arrive on 31 October — two days after the order. Their “solution”? A R75 delivery refund. What use is that do me? They can't charge me for a service you did not provide anyway. What about my time, stress, phone calls and extra money I now have to spend buying another gift because cancelling the order and getting a refund takes 3-5 working days. This was misleading, poorly handled, and a complete waste of time. The lack of communication from both Woolworths and the courier is shocking. I expected better from a brand that prides itself on service.

Woolworths really needs to fix their Dash App. It either hangs or the payment process does not work.
I tried twice last night and twice this morning to make delivery purchases on the app.
On all four occasions, twice last night and twice this morning, I approved the transactions on my banking app and the amounts were debited off my cheque account , but did not register on Woolworth side. So now I have four amounts debited off my account without any order number or confirmed order. As it stands Woolworths owes me R3 061.22. This is unacceptable as who has the kind of money lying around in their account - what am I supposed to use to buy food this weekend?
There have been NUMEROUS complaints about your APP and the same issues keep recurring. The Checkers 60 60 app is never down, it works perfectly - Woolworths needs to up their game. I spent an hour in total this morning between calls to Woolworths Online and Absa to try and get this resolved. My air time, my time and a huge inconvenience.

At 1st l was denied access to purchase at Woolworths Northgate so I contacted support and l was told everything had been resolved. After the traumatic experience l had at Northgate l decided to go to Woolworths Clearwater. OMG 😲 l was made to wait for 4 hours being sent from pillar to post just when l thought the drama was over, the Manager still has issues even when authorisation was given. This has been worst shopping experience ever. l am so disappointed,l am considering returning the stuff because seriously it wasn't worth the struggle. Practice what you preach.
Terrible customer service
I had high hopes when placing an order with Woolworths, given their strong reputation. Unfortunately, my experience has been deeply disappointing.
I missed the delivery as I wasn’t home at the time - understandable, and I assumed it would be easy enough to arrange a redelivery or request a refund. After an initial response the team has yet to offer a resolution to the problem and is no longer replying to my emails.
What’s most frustrating isn’t the missed delivery and lack of refund or redelivery, but the complete lack of communication or support to resolve the issue. For a brand that prides itself on quality, this level of service is unacceptable.
I truly hope Woolworths reconsiders how they handle post-sale customer care, because this experience has eroded a great deal of trust in the brand.

Supermarket robbery
I am disappointed with Woolworths pricing. I was in the supermarket today and found that the 1kg Vittoria Mountain Grown coffee beans had gone up in price. Up until the last time I bought it, it cost me $48. It is now priced at $62 for 1kg. How can you Woolworths justify a $14 increase in a matter of months.
You should be ashamed of yourselves for such a price increase, seeing you are making such a huge yearly profit.

This review is in regards to order number 248542907, which was delivered today 24 April, 2025. The delivery person who I did not get the name of went over and beyond in his duty. I am partially disabled and have used Woolworths delivery regularly for the past few years. I have had delivery people he just place the goods outside my front door. I know that is all I need to do, and I don’t have any complaints. This particular driver today Placed all the goods On the kitchen bench and the heavy items which were Coca-Cola and Pepsi cans, he took inside and put on the ground inside my home. He was very polite, prompt, and very capable. I am someone who always tips my Woolworths delivery people as well as any food deliveries I have. It is just a habit of mine as a way of showing my appreciation. I also offer them a drink of water or soft drink. This driver today refused to take the tip, which was only five dollars, but I should’ve offered twice that at least. I have chronic spine disease and any bit of help is very much appreciated. Please could you pass this message on to this driver as he gives Woolworths a very good name. I would like to continue writing positive things about this bloke, but I can’t find the words to describe how happy it made me feel. This gentleman sets the bar very high And is someone you should use to train other drivers. Again, I cannot thank you guys enough for employing such wonderful people.
WORST EXPIRIENCE EVER
I am beyond disappointed.
I ordered 17 items and only 4 were delivered yesterday.
I called and was told 2 boxes were delivered when I only received 1box.
I called the driver who came and he told me he only was given 1 box so WHERE ARE MY BABY CLOTHES?
Can I get urgent assistance as I'm stuck with no baby clothes and about to give birth with no direction or explanation. On the app it shows that items were delivered when I received nothing. This is appalling and heartbreaking as clearly my items are either missing or stolen.

I am extremely disappointed in woolworths. I have been writing emails about my refund that was never processed for an order I cancelled on the 1st of March. It has been more than 21 days and I have not been given my money. Nobody has followed up on the process to ensure that I have received the money. When I called customer service the agent asked me if I had called capitec, I did not understand how that was my responsibility. I am even thinking I need to get external help because no one is replying to my emails. I would like my refund back and would like to be compensated because woolworths has gone back on its word when they stated that the refund would take 21 days.
