This is one privacy product that really works. I have used other privacy products before but this one is really unique with the privacy mesh. It is also easy to whitelist/bypass with the Chrome extension. I had an issue at one point but after contacting support and a firmware upgrade later, I was on the road again. Continuous firmware to keep current with compatibility rules for new services makes me have confidence this product will last.

I am truly impressed with the Winston Privacy filter. It is very simple and quick to set up, small and stylish, and provides superior protection while surfing the internet as compared to a traditional VPN. It is truly a product who's time has come especially in a time when internet security matters more now than ever.

Excellent product! The Winston device works extremely well and has protected my home the constant barrage of ads that follow you everywhere on the Internet. I am so glad for this product! It has an intuitive interface as well! Keep up the good work!

Great security. Easy to set up and just a bit of configuration to make this protect our household. Plus the team has been great to work with around questions.

This is an amazing internet security product. I feel a lot better knowing that I'm not being tracked as much. I was one of the backers of this project, and now I wish I had ordered more for the rest of my family. It's constantly being updated so I know I'm safe and with a lifetime subscription, how can you go wrong?

The product works really well. There have been a few issues I have had along the way, but support has been good at fixing them. It is a new product so I expected that. There is a learning curve for the family and how to use it, but it does what they claim.

Great piece of hardware and the software is getting better & better with each update. There are some small bumps in the road with certain websites, software, etc. not working due to the filter, but that is understandable given that it is a new product. Any time I've had an issue, Winston Support has been great to work with. Only reason this review isn't five stars is because the bugs are still being fully worked out, but I'm confident it will keep getting better!

This is great network and internet security product with a robust customization platform. Updates are regularly pushed out and continue to augment the platform. Network speed is impacted, but is a reasonable price to pay for security. This tool does come with a bit of a learning curve, but once you get the hang of it, it’s great.

My Winston in always on. It’s simple to set up, and works like a charm. Like any security device or software, it’s naturally going to make your browsing life slightly more annoying (for lack of a better term). However, the extent of the annoyingness is just whitelisting sites you need to whitelist as you access them because it will definitely “break” sites that you may need to function in a certain way. Eventually that whitelist grows and you interact with the Winston less and less and it just becomes something working its magic in the background. Looking forward to some sort of phone app in the future. For now, keep up the great work.

It’s great for making me feel more secure and less followed. Setup is crazy easy. The only negative is you have to be prepared for some inconveniences: some unsubscribe links won’t work without adding the url to the white list, google shopping tab largely doesn’t work and found a new one, instagram blocks you from creating new accounts (I think with all vpn-like solutions). I would recommend for people that value privacy and safety over a few minor inconveniences.

Rare an actual product you get like this does what it claims, but Winston so far has been great. Plus the updates have been keeping up with the issues it's presented which is an amazing bonus in my book.

It's a wonderful product that I'm very glad to have. I've been using it for quite awhile now and it beats my experience with a VPN hands down. It's a 'set it and forget it' experience without Ron Popeil :D

I did have some initial issues with winston device connectivity and cloaking but as with any new technology it was worked out. I have a cyber security technical background and am very pleased with the level of sophistication of Winston. I was using various VPN solutions but none of them could protect all of my network devices. Winston is very resilient and it's IP cloaking functionality works great. After a long conversation with Winston support they are on the right track to further improve it's functionality. It's a keeper for me!

Where to even start? Most of what this product claims to do is false. After getting it installed, I go to an IP address discovery site and it told me my exact IP address and location. On top of this, our internet would cut out at least once every hour. Winston Privacy website says "Try it risk-free," most people would take that to mean that a person can try the product without risk of losing anything. Well, it turns out that promise is also false, when I needed to return the product they don't give you a return label, nope the customer has to pay out more money for postage in the hopes that they can get some of their money back. When my return was processed they only gave my money back for the product they subtracted the shipping cost. So in all, I paid about $27.50 to try this product that does almost nothing it claims and made my internet experience far, far worse.

Absolutely incredible! I finally feel safe from being tracked and having ads created just for me. I have always been so scared of how much these big tech companies about you and it is about time that you can now protect yourself! However, I do wish that there were videos (I know, that sounds lame, but I am a visual leaner, so I would LOVE that) that would show you what is the absolute best way to protect yourself. I have added a router to my lineup and I highly recommend it. It is just a safe way to go about it and I would definitely recommend. Also, I do not understand that on ¨Live Feed¨ why there are a good amount of Whitelist hosts that you did not allow? I just want to be as safe as possible and I wish they showed you how to go about that, more easily. Either way, this is an absolutely GREAT product!

Super happy with both the product and the customer service. Product was easy to install, nice packaging (like an iPhone). Classy design. ONline instructions very easy to follow. I needed to check for an install question and chatted with Chase D. He was very helpful and even follow-up with me the next day after checking up on something with their tech engineers. Already I've noticed pop-up improvements on both my cell phone via home wifi and my desktop with an Ethernet range extender. No noticeable slowness in speed. Very pleased with live chat customer service and install process.

Not sure what the last reviewer had issues with. I have all Samsung products and the simple fix was to install the modules - this fixed any issue we were having from Zoom, to Hulu, and lastly our Samsung TV. Customer service was Quick helpful when we needed support

UPDATE: Winston did get back to me and provided a firmware update that resolved most of the issues I have been experiencing, notably returning the Samsung TV to full service. The Winston is back on my network for about five days and I have not had to turn it down, so this is a very good sign. I believe the support issues that I experienced are due to growing pains more than anything else, and they are working to improve that. Overall, this is a technically sound solution to the issue of online privacy and worth supporting. I'm glad it's working again.

Well, it's a great concept and I'll miss it, but it does not work, mostly because of complete lack of technical support (technical as in fixing broken stuff). FIrst off, if you have a Samsung TV, just kiss it goodbye; it won't work anymore. It basically shuts down your mobile wireless for any secure online transactions (not necessarily a bad thing, but at least give us the option). Same with a lot of online secure transactions (paying bills, etc). I end up shutting it down more often than leaving it on, which is a sure sign of a poorly designed security appliance. I am a CISSP and CEH and in the InfoSec business for >15 years. I'd love to have this on my home network but it eliminates the purpose of having the network and they cannot fix their problems. I'm kissing it goodby today, along with the hundreds of dollars and dozens of hours I've spent trying to make it work.

Love the concept, hate the support. I've received instructions on how to install it, but my system just hangs when I try to verify that it is working. So now I just have a piece of useless hardware sitting there doing nothing. I also wrote into their support department to let them know, but received no response. Oh well. Thanks for nothing. I don't recommend this product.
