i have been a valued customer for 20 years.I have had many loans and have helped them build a 8.5 billion dollar empire. I have always paid on time, recently was sick and had a little bump in the road i was a little late ,long story short they closed my credit card that i have always paid on time ,i had been on hold times for over an hour to talk to some one many times unsuccessful. I thought credit unions was a little more lenient and a little more forgiving to members who had been long time paying customers, I am truly disappointed in this credit union, what is there repercussion for long hold times and unsuccessful phone attempt's
Terrible experience
Terrible experience. We were lied to. A “Universal Banking Associates” told us would pay one rate which we had specifically asked about to make sure it was close to the one we paid at our previous credit card company. On the phone the “associate” figured what our payment would be, and it was reasonable. Spoiler alert! - We were lied to about the rate we would be paying.
We got our first bill. The amount was almost double what the associate had quoted to us. The associate would not return calls. Did respond to a email. Told us one rate, but we were given another. Defended it by, saying she attached a copy of the truth in lending disclosure that will be coming in the mail with your new VISA. By her own admission, we wouldn't even know about the actual rate until we received our cards. But Wings Financial, can say whatever they think will get you to sign on with them until then. That is one devious business practice.
Obviously we were not happy about being lied too, so we left a final message with the associate and said that someone needed to call us, even if it wasn’t her.
We did receive a call from a branch manager, stating they have no control over the minimum monthly rate. When asked about tlying by being told one rate, but given another, she repeatedly stated that’s not the way they do business (by lying), but there is nothing they can do about it. Ironically, lying to us and then denying responsibility was exactly the way they do business. The manager also kept calling the lie a “miscommunication” in some type of weird Orwellian doublespeak. No, it was simply a lie. When we called their customer service number we were on hold for over 30 minutes – I guess there were a lot of complaints! Go elsewhere for your Credit Card needs, if you go to Wings Financial you will likely regret it.

GREAT EXPERIENCE
GREAT EXPERIENCE: Quick smooth processing of leased car buy-out. The entire process only took 7 days. Bank officer was professional, knowledgeable and friendly. My personal experience with Wings Financial Credit Union was all positive.
First experience with a credit union
This is my first experience with a credit union and I've been pleasantly surprised. I've found them to be more personalized then a bank and their digital/video teller option has been really helpful to get service without having take time away from my work day.
Ridiculous policies and misleading customer service
This is a poorly run credit union that arbitrarily pulls hard inquiries on your credit report, which lowers your credit score, when apply to open any sort of account with them, to include savings and checking accounts.
To make matters absolutely worse, their phone representatives blatantly lie to you and tell you that they won't be pulling any hard inquiries on your credit report when opening an account. This is ridiculous as there is no remotely justifiable reason for a financial institution to pull hard inquiry credit reports when you are not applying for credit or loans of any kind. The industry standard, called Chex systems, does not impact credit scores and is universally used instead.
This company's policies are just preposterous, so join this totally pathetic excuse for a credit union only if you are willing to take multiple hits to your credit score just to set up a lousy simple savings and/or checking account. I can only shudder at what they would require of you if you were to actually request financing.
